Must admit this hotel complex was a lot more then we expected, we were in a one bed room we was lucky to get a double balcony at the back, although the views from the room was not up to much this in now way effected our stay. The rooms was very clean and roomy with plenty of space for clothes.
The staff was the best I've ever seen, even the maids and cleaners had a smile for us all.
The pool was spotless, the pool bar was great also,
the only thing that I did not like was the beds are very hard, so I slept on the pull out in the living room for the two weeks i was there, but that was my preference and in no way the hotels fault.
Complex was very safe for any unwanted visiters at night what with cctv and security through the night we felt very safe.
There is a bar/pub within the complex but I did not once use it so comments about this can not be made, also the restraunt "Mamma rossa's" I've heard it was nice but also did not use.
The one thing that also has not been mentioned is the luggage room and shower rooms before you come home is excellent. You can take your full family in and lock the room in the shower room where you all can get washed and changed, and clean towels are provided, so there is no messing about taking yours out of your already packed cases

Have just (today) returned from 7 nights at the Colon2
Party consisted Wife and I, two of my stepsons age 21 &15
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!
Spotless throughout, all new kitchens, good decor and maintenance (even the pool tables were resurfaced whilst we were there). Saw the occasional cockroach at night, but roaches and the canaries go together like roast beef and yorkshire pud (imho).
Rooms well equipped, payg tv, hairdryer, combi microwave 2 ring hob, fridge with freezer compartment, plenty of cupboard/wardrobe space, ceiling fan and piped music if you wanted it.
Great maid service, all staff really friendly, helpful front desk, good reception area with front coffee bar also serving alcohol and ice creams.
Poolside bar doing the usual range of snacks at good prices, iced glasses for your beer(as long as you sit at the tables - plastic for round the pool)
No real entertainment apart from sky TV in the "pub" (basement of the hotel, closed Thursday's) - they did advertise quiz night and Karaoke night but we didn't go.
Located 5 Min's walk from the mail club/pub strip, flat walk. Hotel equipped with rams/lift for disabled.
As usual pool rules, clearly posted (no reserving beds, no ball games, no lilos, no diving)ignored by all, but after about 10:30 am all areas of the terrace are sunny so we didn't feel the need to race down at 0600 for a place in the sun and there are enough sunbeds (nice ones as well) to go round.
We would definitely go back, probably the best we've stayed in.
Oh, and the adjoining Mama Rosa restaurant - give yourself a treat one night and splash out, you won't regret it!!

Stayed at the Colon 2 great staff who will go out of their way to help you really clean great maid service.
Pool really nice and clean, not put off the fact the pool was saltwater got the best sunloungers seen anywhere!!!
Pub downstairs really nice clean and cool, quiet but good to have a couple of drinks before you head off, Rob the barman really good even did the quiz even though there were 3 people there!!
5 mins from Veronica strip + 20 mins back but that depends how drunk you are.
Very close to the centre but is quiet if you need a good nights sleep. Saw one cocky there but that is to be expected in the Canaries definately recommend it and are definately going back great place!

The hotel reception was very modern and spotless. You walk through the reception area out to the hotel rooms which are all spacious and recently refurbished. Next door to the hotel there was a lot of building work going on but we were really not affected by this, I didnt hear any noise but my partner said he was woken by drilling on one of the mornings (he is a very light sleeper though!)
The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very clean.
I loved staying here and would recommend it to any couple looking for a convenient and quite luxurious hotel. I was really suprised by the facilities in the room, we had a toaster, kettle and a microwave etc all fitted into a brand new large kitchen. The bathroom had a bath and shower and was also very spacious. A hairdryer was also provided. There was never any problems with the hot water, which is something that I was expecting. The maids came every day and made the beds, although they didnt change the bedding and towels daily. I think they did this once a week. The pool area was spotless, luxury sunbeds which were free and we had sun all day long without being overshadowed by other apartments.
If you are going to stay in these apartments you simply must go and eat at the Mama Rosa restuarant within the complex. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was spot-on! It was more expensive than other places but well worth it for a treat.

I adored this hotel and was amazed not only by how clean the hotel was but how friendly the staff were. This hotel literally smells of bleach!
The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every second day and a general tidy performed every other day. The pool area was completely spotless and well maintained. The sunloungers were comfortable and the pool bar/resturant was lovely with one of the nicest spanish ladies I have ever met serving. She couldn't do enough for people.
The hotel is more or less in the middle of Las Americas with everything you can ever need at your doorstep including the beach,shops, bars, resturants and entertainment.
I will definetly return to this hotel in the future.

Me and my friend booked our holiday two weeks before we left, we did an allocation on arrival so we were quite worried about where we would end up. When we arrived I was quite shocked as we walked into reception to see a very clean area with marble floor chandelers and a small bar area with seating, my first impressions were good.
The receptionist then went through everything and showed us to our room, which we were even more amazed by we had a separate living area, bedroom and bathroom all very clean and modern looking. Had all mod cons in kitchen: toaster, microwave, hob, kettle. Bathroom was quite spacious for a 2 bed apartment with a bath and shower. I must admit that they could maybe change the bedding more frequently as it does become quite dirty after a couple of days and I only think they changed it once, if they did at all. We also had our own little secret garden which had table and chairs in.
The only problem with the location of our room is that it looked out to a building site! We didn't stay in our room in the day so it didn't effect us too much but i did wake me up in the morning a few times which i was not happy about.
The location was brilliant literally a one minute walk and you were by all the restaurants and a mini supermarket, and just a 5 minute walk to the main lively club life.

In excellant position and condition. Worth every penny. Everything about this complex is exceptional and can't find any fault other than insuffient umbrellas around the pool. Have already booked for Xmas and New Year.

Travelled to Tenerife in March 2006 and stayed in the Colon II Apartments.
Ideal location, clean, staff really helpful, didn't want to come home! Would definitely go back!!

Have to echo the great reviews these apartments have had already. We arrived at 8pm and was greeted with a very bubbly receptionist who was informative and helpful.
The reception area was spotless so we were of to a good start. We took the lift to our floor and located our apartments, we had asked for adjoining apartments with sunny balconies as the pool views do not get sun in winter, we got exactly what we asked for.
Although there is a refurb going on next door this did not bother us at all during our time there and they look like they are well on with this as they were fitting windows by the time we left. Our apartments were spotless with slot card for door, electric and water. The kitchen had kettle, toaster, hob, fridge and micro. We were in a studio and had 2 of everything, forks, knives, cups etc, just a little tight when Mam and Dad came next door for a cupper!!
There is a very strict rule sheet, no visitors at anytime, no noise. The complex was very clean and quiet and the maid came 6 days, 1 sheet change but fresh towels every day she came. The TV was slot feed - 1 euro per hour but the english speaking channels were few and far, not a problem for us, but maybe for some.
Did not go to the pool, however we did think that in the high season space round the pool would be tight, but it did look nice. The location was superb we couldn't ask to be more central.
All in all we had a great time here and would highly recommend Colon II.

We stayed at the Colon II Apartments for a 7 day winter break in early January 06 and was delighted with both the accomodation and its location.
I have never stayed in a hotel which was kept so clean.
Maid Service was every day and they seemed to clean the communal areas and corridors all day and into early evening.
We stayed in a very spacious 2 Bedroom Apartment which was obviously recently refurbished and was well fitted out. It had a very large balcony with 4 personal sun loungers.
The Pool Area was very nice and the sun loungers there were the most comfortable we have experienced.
The Food and Drinks from the Poolside Bar were also excellent and very reasonable prices.
The complex was mainly couples and there was no real hotel entertainment, however, there is an onsite Pub run brilliantly by Rob.
Unfortunately in Winter, the pool side of the apartments does not get any sun at all, and the side that does faces an adjacent bungalow complex, which is currently being totally refurbished, but I must say we never found this too much of an annoyance on floor 4.
The only minor niggle was that the TV in the room was not free but coin operated
