We went to this hotel in September there was 6 adults and 5 children. It's got to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in I've stayed in 2 star hotels in Tenerife which were a lot better than this one.

The location was good with the beach just a short walk away and a few nightclubs on the front for the younger adults, but apart from this the hotel was terrible.

We stayed in Estival Park 2 the entertainment lasted an hour each night there was a disco in Estival Park 1 at 12am each night which was open to 3 but no kids allowed.

The food was horrible warmed up leftovers and the same thing all the time thank god for the pizza place and the restaurants on the beach front.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly.

I will never visit this hotel again.

Just returned from the worst holiday I have ever been on. Stayed half board in Estival park apartments BAD IDEA.

No maid service, wash your own towels, change your own beds buy your own toilet rolls, nothing about this advertised in the brochure.

Food in restaurant is awful same thing repeated every night had to end up with the extra expense of eating in local pub down the street.

Found 3 dead flies in the bottle of vinegar in the so called 4 star hotel restaurant. Spaniards were very rude the place is full of Russians, Germans and Spaniards who seem to own holiday homes within these apartments.

I would definitely not recommend Salou to anyone as I had what can only be described as a holiday from hell!!!!!!!!!

Why do First Choice and Falcon choose this hell hole as part of their accomodations listings in Salou and get away with it.

Hotel itself was very clean with excellent facilities for children. The only problem was that on arrival we only had one room for two adults. They said there were no bigger rooms and fitted in another single bed then a cot, leaving us all rather cramped.

We stayed in hotel 3 which we found was holidaymakers of all nationalities, many of whom spoke little English. This made our holiday particulary difficult for the first few days ie communication in general, especially for our nine year old son. This would be the only reason for not returning to this hotel. Most of the entertainment was also catering for other nationalities.

Hotel food excellent but finding high chairs was a nightmare.

We stayed in the apartments in early May 2006 for 2 nights before we moved to Festival Village. We have a 2 year old and a 4 month old baby so 2 pushchairs. Our flight was late (which happens) and when we got to the apartment we found it to be on the 2nd floor which is physically impossible with 2 buggies - especially if they are sleeping and with a 2 year old who loves steps but doesn't realise how dangerous they are. To cut a long story short we returned to the reception where the staff were totally arrogant, rude and unhelpful to be told they had nothing else available.

I have worked for a major international airline for 16 years and have never encountered such rude staff. The apartment stunk of smoke and the balcony wall was far too low for children. We had requested first or ground floor but apparently all their one bed apartments are on the top floor. The hotel arranged for a bell boy to assist us up and down stairs morning and night and we eventually left the buggies at the bottom and carried the usually sleeping babes upstairs.

We were so fed up with the hotel staff that we were going to go home but evenbtually moved to Festival Village which is lovely.

We ate in the hotel a couple of times - breakfast is lovely with lots of variety but the dinner buffet was on the cool side.

There appear to be 3 hotels making up the Estival Park Complex. We stayed in Estival 1.

The hotel was very clean and the grounds were lovely and well kept. The rooms are comfortable. They are cleaned everyday! They leave you flowers in the bathroom! If you want to make your own tea and coffee in your room -you need to take your own kettle!

The food is excellent - there is lots of choice as well. You can eat outside at Estival 1 which is very pleasant - as the dining room can get quite hot.

The staff are quite friendly. The bar staff are friendlier than the reception desk staff.

The hotel is about 400 metres from the beach - but at the end of the resort where there are no bars. If you can't walk very far, you have to drink at the hotel which is more expensive than English prices. So if you get the opportunity to book all inclusive -it is probably worth it!- Although the people we met, who were all inclusive, were housed in the Estival II hotel and claimed it was not as nice and the staff were not so friendly!

Entertainment seems to start very late at 10.00 pm - but that may be because this was the start of the season. I think the Estival I is a fabulous hotel, deserving of its 4 stars.

We was all inclusive and stayed in Estival 2,
We flew in on the 12th May and returned on the 23rd May with First Choice.

We booked this holiday in September 2005 and because our sons are aged 3 and 1 we wanted a 2 rooms so not to upset there sleep routine.

We arrived at 11.00 and was told we could not have our room until 1pm and had to leave our luggage in a safe room.
When we got the room pass, the room was just one room on its own with private shower/bath wc, and with 2 single beds.

I questioned this with the very rude reception staff and said we wanted a twin room, they said that that is what they have given us, a twin room is 2 single beds and we would have another single bed delivered for the eldest child as well as a travel cot. The room overlooked the skips at Estival 1.

I argued this and they said they would move us on the Sunday, (we arrived on the Friday). This put some stress on our holiday at the start and a really bad vibe about the whole place. I spoke to the reps and they heard what reception had said too, so kept my hopes up.

On the Sunday I visited reception and asked again about the room only to be told that the only room they could give us was the same size as we was in but over looking the pool. I declined this as I just wanted to unpack and try and enjoy the hols. The staff did confirm that if I wanted to upgrade to 2 rooms then I would have to pay 40 euros extra a day, and this would be a duplex room . Again I declined this .

The reception staff was awful.
The restuarant staff in 2 were really nice and friendly, very polite and some good English speaking staff, They always had time for the kids.

Mind you you have to fight for a high chair, so we was always down for dinner at 7.15 for the doors to be opened for 7.30.

The bar staff never smiled in 2, the bar staff in 1
were extremely friendly, never ate there although we did go there nightly for the kiddies mini disco.(even though that only lasted for 20 minutes)

The maids didnt speak English but cleaned the rooms daily with fresh towels.
Met some lovely people there, Birmingam,
Peterborough, Nottingham, London, Grimsby, Hull, Manchester, although at weekends the hotel was full of Spanish families who fight for the kiddies pool toys.

The best pool was hotel 3 as this was child friendly the boys could just walk into the pool.
On the last day I paid 30 euros to extend my room due to a late flight back to Manchester, and would you believe it We got the room we wanted.

Over all it was a nice break, wouldnt go again to this place, I prefer Hotel Sur Menorca in Punta Prima.

Also we took a trip to Barcelona to the Zoo, booked this through the rep, costed 113 euros, they took us to the Nou Camp stadium, the day after the match Arsenal and Barcelona, although they didnt tell us that the stadium wasnt child friendly or not to take a buggy. as all you do is walk up and down steep steps. The Zoo was fun though.

The food in the hotel was plentyful, we are vegetarians and there was always plenty of salad, and chips, and fish. The breakfast food often needed warming in the microwave.

well thats enough of me moaning now - enjoy your jollies !!

Stayed during May half term. Room ready on arrival, no problems.

Only small complaint about the room was that it overlooked side of Estival 1 and there was noise from deliveries, and in particular the bottle bank.

As we were all inclusive we were in Estival 2. Lovely hotel, friendly staff. All 3 swimming pools were clean and nice but stayed around Estival 2 to use all inclusive facilities.

If you have small children beware of pools at Estival 2, one pool very shallow but other very deep and nothing to stop children falling in(which did happen). Nice play area for small children, excellent facilities for fitness fans.

Room cleaned daily and towels changed whenever requested. Food fantastic, something for everyone. Location fantastic, 5 mins walk to waterpark, beach, bus stops, cafes and shops.

Entertainment differed, some nights just OK other nights really good. If you get chance to see "The Sweet Temptations" and you like Motown don't miss them they're great! Plenty of daytime activities for children if they like joining in. Around 10 mins on bus from Salou and 15 mins in taxi to Cambrils.

Will definitely return, hopefully soon. Everyone in our party had a great time! Might not use First Choice again. Easy to book direct but not easy to get help after booking, phone always busy or passed from department to department.

Good idea to book your seats in advance as airport tiny and our rep had warned us you may have problems sitting together in a group if not pre-booked. Facilities at airport very limited, 2 snack bars and small shop.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the all inclusive board although don't expect too much from the between meal snacks as really all there is to offer is crisps nuts and ice cream.

We stayed in Hotel 2 which we found to be clean and well organised. The evening entertainment was not to our taste and seemed to be more for spanish than english but a trip to the disco in hotel 1 is well worth a visit.

If it looks to be a sunny day saving a sunbed in the right area is a must as although there are plenty of sunbeds there are not too many places to put them. All in all Estival Park is a really great place to stay.
