Hotel cleanliness is good. The room was cleaned every day to a good standard.

Food breakfast was excellent, a large choice if you get there before 10.00 am as then it changes to late breakfast and some things are removed. Pancakes with syrup, Omelets very nice. The usual French toast, beans, tomatoes, cereals, toast, juices, tea, coffee. Freshly squeezed orange juice 1.8 euros, so no queue there then.

Location - nothing around you short taxi ride to Sarigerme village which was quiet.

Hotel staff - don

We arrived at Pegasos Tropical on July 18th 2005 for 1 week.

The transfer from the airport was 20 minutes as stated in the First Choice brochure. When we arrived at the hotel we found it very impressive, the hotel has progressed a lot since the photos taken in the gallery on this site.

When checking in we had to fill in a form, which didn't take very long, about 3 minutes. Other people seemed to complain about this for some reason. The reception staff were friendly. We were then given our key and had to find our room and within 10 minutes our suit cases were brought up to our room.

Our room was a Jacuzzi suite, it was lovely, very clean and spacious. Air conditioning worked well. Our room was cleaned every day by the maids.

The pools were lovely, there were a selection of small pools around the complex and two main pools. One in the Pegasos palace hotel and the other in the Tropical. They were all very clean. The slides in the Tropical pool were only open a few hours during the day, which was a bit annoying, we heard this was because the lifeguard was only contracted to work a few hours. When the slides were not working children kept climbing up them, which we thought was a bit dangerous and this needed to be stopped.

The bar staff were excellent, especially George and Uri, they all worked extremely hard and were very friendly. Many people complained about the queues, however this was not their fault and they worked a lot faster than bar staff in England. They worked long shifts for very little money. Some people were very abusive towards them which we thought was unfair.

The entertainment was ok, (bearing in mind we are both 21) it was more family based, the shows done by the first choice reps was very Butlins amateur like, however the entertainment ran by the Turkish staff was a lot better.

The food was reasonably good, there was a varied selection every night. The a la carte restaurants were outstanding. The service the waiters offered was brilliant. We found the Indian food very nice. The meal in the Turkish restaurant was quite good and was different. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to visit the Italian as it was fully booked.

Overall we had a brilliant holiday. The hotel is very nearly finished and we are sure that when it is completed it will be an excellent complex and live up to its 4* rating.

Just arrived back from the Pegasus Place to which we all had a fantastic time. The comlex is huge and as per people's comments isn't too near a major resort but being All Inclusive everything is on site for you.

The Tropical being the newer of the 2 has a lovely "Caribbean/Polynesian" look to it and yeah it has a few teething problems being brand new, but nothing which isn't fixable.
The Palace has been open for 6 weeks now, and looks absolutely fab. A choice of 10 swimming pools(we counted them all) from 2 waterslide pools, to fun pools, to small secluded ones for a little peace and quiet.

Food had got better from before we arrived but was great.A big selection to choose from or the 3 themed resturants and as people mentioned, very nice.

The kids clubs were fantastic and the children had a great time, never bored. They have introduced some more adult entertainment, not just First Choice entertainers, but some good Turkish entertainers and some live music

Rooms were goodsized. Had a kid's den with the playstation which did come in handy.
There is now free ice cream for the kids, free beach towels and you don't have to pay for sun loungers cushions, all free. Always got beds(do think they bought in alot more before we arrived.)

There isn't a big choice of spirits to choose from, just the usual though, Vodka, Brandy, Gin, Raki, excellent beer(some others but can't remember) but like all other all inclusives, the others you have to pay for. Yes at times you had to wait but the longest I waited for 6 minutes, Have waited longer in my own pub.

The staff were friendly and as they days went on started to open up and have a good time with it. The staff have had such a hard time from some customers and it's a shame.

What was more annoying in the hotel was all the moans and groans from other people on Holiday. As a few people mentioned it's not just the staff who are at fault but the customers.

It is a 4 star hotel but with some 2 star customers. We were more dissappointed watching people just leaving their dirty cups (people complaining as plastic cups by the pool) that is a safety issue, on the ground, kicking them around in stead of picking them up. Chewing gum stuck to their art ornamonts, Children graffitying, and vandalising some of the property, The staff were to quick to clean up after them but did find this quite annoying.

I do beleive that there have been some issues before we arrived but it looks like they are all being rectified.
Our kids had tears in their eyes when we left and would definitely recommend it.

The mozzies are definately a pain in the bum but overall an excellent complex

Hotel was very clean. Staff constantly cleaning and tidying grounds.

Food was bland and cold at start of fortnight but by the time we came away the food was getting hotter but not enough to earn extra points.

Location was horrendous. Middle of nowhere so you could not escape and it must have been built on a mozzie nest as people where being bitten non stop.

Staff were extremely rude and arrogant eating and drinking in the same bars and restaraunts after pushing ahead in the queue.

Entertainment was good with special Mention for two First choice Angels..... Kelly and Michelle. They were great and kept our disabled son smiling for a fortnight. These girls deserve a pay rise. The rest of the team were good as well working hard all day with us unhappy campers.

We stayed at Pegasos Palace.

The food was ok.
Entertainment was none.
Hotel location was in the middle of no-where.
Hotel staff tried there best but could not speak much English.

I would visit this hotel again in about 3 years time as the area would be built up more.

Going back to the food there was something to eat but very basic everyday.

Entertainment for kids was brilliant but for adults forget it more entertainment waiting to get a drink as this took 10 minutes.

We got the free ice-cream 2nd week had to pay the 1st week.

First choice reps just kids out of school.

As a family holiday I would give 7 out of 10 only because the kids can drink and eat as much as they want when they want and not bug Mam and Dad.

The hotel was suffering from a few "teething" problems although I believe it had great potential. My main complaint was the number of extremely rude guests who complained all day long whilst leaving dirty cups/glasses etc at their feet. Other main gripe was the lack of sunbeds during the first week. All I can say is there were no Germans in this hotel although sunbeds were reserved from 5.45am - how sad that on holiday you need to reserve a sunbed. This problem reduced during our second week when more beds were delivered.

My children aged 12 and 8 had an absolutely fantastic time and attended a variety of kids clubs. They loved the "high ropes" and indeed we took part in this as a family activity and it was the best time of our holiday. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It's just a pity you can't leave the rude guests at home.

Arrived at 4am, there were only a few of us so check in was very quick/smooth. Rep was not interested, she read from a sheet of paper on the coach and seemed very robotic, at first we put this down to the time of day but it soon became clear that this Rep(like many others) was incapable of cracking a smile!!

ROOM = Very comfortable and spacious, didn't have enough bedding for the children but we made do until we could get some more(2 days later) Air Con didn't seem to be working at first but later that day it did start chucking out cold air, over the 2 weeks it seemed to have a mind of it's own but this was not of a major problem to us. Bath leaked at first, reported this and it was fixed quite quickly, never had any more problems with it. Went back to room one day and the light above the the dressing table mirror(big 4/5 foot strip in case) had falling down and crashed on to the table (no personal belongings damaged) this left live wires sticking out of the wall, reported this and before we went to dinner that evening they had come and fixed it and put it back up. On the whole the rooms were lovely, the best I have come across yet, very clean and nicely decorated (one of the 2 best parts of the holiday!)

POOLS = Huge, what more can I say! never actually counted how many there were, but there was quite a few. We always sat between the main pool and the waterslide pool so that the children could flit between the 2 and we could keep on eye on them. If you want a decent bed by the main pools and also want any form of shade then you will have to get up and put your towels out at 5.30am! If you are not bothered where you sit then you will be able to have a lay in and put your towel at maybe 6.30-7am any later then your on the grass with your towels!!

It was actually embrassing to be out there at that time in the morning but as there was 8 of us with 4 children we needed to make sure we had shade at least for the kids(we weren't greedy and only had 3 beds and 1 shade per family) the pools as I said were huge, and never at any time did they feel over crowded, even though at times there seemed to be more inflatables than people in there-LOL. (second of best thing about holiday, only had 2 good things going for it)

BEACH = Don't bother!! It could be absolutley wonderful but no-one seems to care about it. We went there twice, 1st time to have a go on the Bananna Boat(

We returned from the Pegasus Palace this morning, we departed from Manchester on the 14th July for 2 weeks.
This holiday for us had lots of good bits and some bad, I will go through it as it was for us.

Hotel cleanliness
The public areas of this hotel ie reception, public toilets, pool areas and bedrooms were kept spotless, and really deserve 4/5 star, but I have ony given it 3 star due to other aspects not being to good.

The plastic beakers used around the pool area are not cleaned properly they only seemed to be rinsed, you could still smell spirits from the previous persons drink, which meant germs must also still be present too! Another area for concern for me was the vast amount of flies in the main buffet restaurant, they were everywhere, very frustrating, and a matter of concern for me. This is something they really need to sort out. Out of the 4 of us in our party 3 were ill, with severe stomach cramps and sickness.

Hotel food
Well, what can we say, as we arrived at the hotel late at night and a little hungry we decided to eat in the late buffet restaurant, it was awful!! It was the clearly the left overs from dinner that night. Breakfast the next morning was not much better. We did get a little worried that this was how it would be for the whole of our stay, However day by day it did get better. I would say the food here started out at 2 star standard and by the end was more like 3 star, so at least they are trying.

The best place for lunch is the outdoor main buffet restaurant, you got much more choice here, oh and the sweets, well they were lovely!

We never got to try the themed restaurants as you could only book them at 8am the day before you wanted to go, and we just didn't like the idea of getting up at 7.30am to do this, we were on holiday! other people we spoke to said they were nice.

Hotel location
It is in the middle of nowhere, we hated being so remote. I dont think the First Choice brochure was exactly honest here. The hotel is also built next to a swamp, which our bedroom was right next to!
The whole area is very primitive, but im sure in a few years that will change.

Hotel staff,
The staff here at this hotel worked very hard and very long hours.
The reception staff I found to be ok, just slow!

Our maid was fantastic, they worked from about 8.30am through to about 8.00pm 7 days a week. Our room was cleaned and we had fresh towels everyday, she arranged my daughters nightwear into fancy patterns, which we thought was a lovely touch. we made sure we handed her a good tip at the end of our holiday, she was over the moon.

First choice reps were great if you wanted to book excursions, otherwise it was hit and miss, some good some not interested.

First choice entertainment team, fabulous!!! They worked from 10.00 am to midnight, and they never stopped, always happy, always had time for you, these people made our holiday, and i going to write to the head rep in resort to let them know what i thought of them. My youngest really loved, Deano, Hannah, Kelly and Michelle, but i thought they were all lovely.

Football soccer coaches, great lads, worked hard and had fun with the kids.

Swim kids teachers, excellent! our 4 year old was swimming with no armbands after her first couple of lessons. (thanks kat!)

Stagecoach, excellent, great people, the kids had lots of fun, and performed on stage twice.
Kids clus reps, also excellent, both our children loved all the activities they did with them, they were never bored.
In2action staff also very good.

Waiters.... well, some lovely, some misrable, some ???
who knows what planet some were on.

Entertainment
You had a choice of First Choice staff, the Pegasus team, Lee Jay and Matt or the resident band the eleventh hour.

This hotel really lack some prefessional shows brought in, most, if not all other tour operators do this in ths kind of hotel and it does break it up a little.

It was hard work watching the shows at night as it was very uncomfortable on the wooden beach type seats, and you were eaten alive by the mossies, be warned!

I really wont be selling this hotel to adults only there just isn't enough for them. Again, this is something that may change, who knows?!

Other bits../ tips

Take mainly lira, some english, and maybe a small amount of euros.

Take plently of painkillers!! you can't buy them in the hotel or Sarigerme, you need to go into Ortaca or Marmaris. Or you could see the doctor for some but this will cost you a lot if you have an excess on your insurance policy.

Anyone travelling with babies or small children in nappies take your own.

The hotel has a photographer, he is very good, we have some excellent photos, he will do black and white too if you ask.

Anyone travelling with special needs/ or wheeelchair users the pool areas are flat, and they have lifts, the first choice kids reps are very good with children who have special needs.

The sunbeds around the pool, they have hundreds, but you are squashed up together, a bit to much for much for me.

The pools are lovely, except the kids splash pools cut my daughters feet almost everyday, and the slides are good fun for the kids, but watch your children, there were lots of accidents while we were there, from broken legs to gashed heads etc etc.

Lots of other accidents happening around the hotel too, some very serious.

We met some great people while we were there, but we also saw lots of not so nice people, even children as young as 5 and 6 shouting foul and abusive language, while mum and dad ignored them!

On the whole we had a good holiday, but we wouldn't choose to stay there again.

To anyone going have a lovely holiday!

Arrival - no system upon arrival just a mad free-for-all! Staff not very helpful.

Rooms - very pleased with rooms. We were amazed that they were so spacious and fitted out to a high standard. Air con very erratic. Safety deposit box not bolted down.

Pools - all very clean, not too crowded (though why people want to lie so close to strangers I don

I like many other families tried to change accommodation before we went but couldn't, so I was dreading going. But on arrival we found the place to be clean and well set out.

We checked in quickly and our a porter took us to our room which was small and not what we were expecting for a Jacuzzi suite. After five days I came back to the room to find a team of maintenance people in the room (not been told prior they we going in) and the ceiling half hanging down. Went to see First Choice rep, who are useless by the way, to find out what was going on to be told my room was being condemned. I was changing rooms apparently there was something wrong with the electrics and I had 1 hour to get out of course a complaint form went in.

The pools are ok apart from the slides being misused i.e. jumping off them and standing up on them which was dangerous and someone actually broke their leg whilst we were there. You have to get up at some crazy hour in the morning to get a sunbed and to get a mattress there was a free for all as there is not enough. If you do manage to get a bed becareful to keep hold of it as some of the guests are not fussed and will take them regardless if you are using them. I even had a lady (lady being to good a name for her if you get my meaning) try to take my mattress of my bed while I was stood there.

The waiting at the bars and restaurants was bad but did get better as the weeks progressed but they did only have one beer pump at each bar when we arrived so you can imagine the queuing.

The entertainment was naff and we were so bored at night that we ended up playing cards or just sitting in reception with the friends we made (hi Stewart Kath Tina and Tim) this was the only entertainment we got watching other guests kick off at the reps.

The food was ok plenty of choice but it did get repetitive as with most places on Turkey.

Also watch out for the staff overcharging on things like the football it states
