My name is Fiona and I help to moderate this forum. I am married, no kids and I teach primary aged children. I first joined HT as I love to travel and found this a great source of info. I have never actually been to the Indian Ocean yet- but that will be remedied in the future! Just back from Hong Kong, Bangkok and Saigon. Thailand is my favourite country but my first experience of Vietnam has whetted my appetite for more! We are going to Antigua in July- this is rare for us, 2 weeks in one place!

My name is Karen Married with 4 grownup children So After 20 odd years of buckets spades bottles dummies and comfort blankets moving on to game boys and walkmans etc. We are free agents and travelling much further than we been in the past. Last Xmas we had a fanastic holiday in Kenya with a 3 day Safari. Though my favourite holiday so far has been to Goa
I am a lurker at the moment on this particular forum as off to Eygpt in July. But going to Sri Lanka at Xmas so once the summer is over will probably be spending a lot more time asking for loads of advice.

Hi
My name is Judith, although I live in Germany I am British. I love to travel
New Zealand is my favourite country followed by Australia and India, though pretty much anywhere I go becomes a favourite. I have travelled extensively through South East Asia and the Indian Sub Continent and must make another trip to India as it's a while since I was there and I really like the country.
My most extensive(and expensive) trip was a round the world a few years ago when I visited Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Los Angeles.
I start planning my next trip almost straight away after returning home from a holiday (sometimes before) and have a long list of places I want to visit.
I am retired so I have a lot of time for travel

Hi, my name is Mary, I am married with 3 children, 20,25 and 27 years. Our youngest son ,Craig, has a rare disease called Batten's Disease. He can no longer walk, talk, is blind and needs 24 hour care and although it is very hard work caring for him we would not change things for the world. it makes everything worth while when we get a big smile from him. Children with the disease usually do not survive past their late teens, so we are so glad that Craig is still here with us. We loved taking him on holiday with us but he is no longer fit to travel. We still need to get away for a break so Craig goes to stay at the children's hospice while we go on holiday. We would not leave him for a fortnight so we usually go on holiday for 8 nights in the summer and 8 in the winter. I love to travel. We are off to Seychelles and Abu Dhabi in 5 weeks time. We were at St. Lucia in November. Other places we have been to include Jamaica,Bahamas, Europe,Lapland, 3 cruises and Dubai 3 times. Dubai is my favourite destination and we are going back in September. I work as a staff nurse but I really want to work in Travel so I have been doing a home-learning course which will enable me to work as a travel sales consultant. I have completed it and passed both my exams with merit. I have just received an application form from Thomson's so maybe soon I will be working in the travel business. There are so many places I want to visit. My next holiday will hopefully be Hawaii. We are considering renewing our wedding vows there! Anyone been who can tell me about it? Love this forum!!

Hello Mary

I spent 5 days in Hawaii on a round the world tour a few years ago. We
stayed in Waikiki beach Honolulu, on the Island of Oauhu. We weren't too impressed with the resort although the beach was lovely. Waikiki is a large resort with lots of high rise hotels, further north we visited beautiful beaches and saw lovely scenery. We decided we would go back to Hawaii sometime but would visit some of the other islands, we have been told that Maui and Hawaii (the big island) are beautiful and much less commercialised. I have seen in brochures that lots of companies do two, three or even four island holidays which I think would suit us.
The weather was great and the sunsets were magnificent, all in all I can't wait to return. A beautiful, romantic destination to renew your vows.
