Frankly, if you are expecting welcoming Tavernas and the sound of Bazouki music the this area is not for you. if however an English breakfast (real British sausages) is more you cup of tea, you may well have hit on a great spot. All of the local bars compete with offerings such as tributes to....Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Robbie Williams et al, oh, and there is a Pizza Hut. Not my cup of tea, but...

Have stayed around this resort for a number of years. Close enough to get into central Protaras if you need to - yet enough entertainment if you want to stay local.

Great restaurants - Knights Pub, Blue Spice and Cordon Blue (Pernera), Olympic in Protaras, (too many to mention them all).

Boat trip - Shirley Valentine, very sociable day out, kebab - excellent. Captain Kiri, Jean and Keo make you feel very welcome.

They really need to make a footpath to access Protaras from Pernera in the dark!

The resort was in a perfect location, having very local nightlife (Pernera), along with a larger choice within a 10 minute walk away (Protaras), and even better still (for the more energetic of us) Ayia Napa within a 15 minute drive away. Overall a perfect position for all. The beaches were very good, surrounded by bars and restaurants, with the entertainment being first rate.

Can walk to all pubs and eating places but we hired a car as we wanted to explore a little more of the island. Cheap car hire and very easy to find your way around, same side of the road as at home.

Visit Cap Greko the view is great, and only about 15 mins from Agia Napa where the beaches are like a hot bath Nissi Beach is A1 can't wait to get back!!!!

The Pernera area has everything you need, we went to Windmills most nights, it has cheesy but funny entertainment, Titch the dj is totally mad, dont believe him if he says he was hypnotised ! All the owners and staff there were great, George, Fish, Dorota to name a few.

Thought Protaras was lovely. Enjoyed a good night in a bar where they had a good greek night cant remember what it was called though.

Had a few nice meals, one in particular was called Oscars & the other was called the steak house.

The beach was lovely, but very rocky when you first go into the sea. All in all a lovely holiday.

The part of Protaras we were in was quieter which suited us fine, but a short walk took you to the centre of town where there were lively bars, usually with entertainment and good restaurants.

If you have a car Protarus is ideal for exploring Paralimni, Aya Napa and a little further to Larnaca. We also had a full days trip to Troodos in the mountains, which was a long drive but well worth it.

The local people are friendly laid back and charming.
The beach where we were was rather small but it is only a short distance to the beautiful Fig Tree Bay - a much larger beach.

Pernera is some 25 minutes outside of Protaras,it is a lovely small resort with some nice wee sandy beache a few bars and restaurants all of similur standard serving good food and cold beer at reasonable cost.It is not a busy resort indeed some people may find it quiet however this suited us as we do not like the really hectic and busy resorts.s
