We are a party of 11 adults mixed ages (40-73),and have just returned from a great holiday at this hotel we all had a great time.

Some parts of the hotel were dated and tired, but overall the hotel maintened a good standard of cleanliness. Our rooms were very clean and had spectacular views over sharks bay and tiran island.

Being a large party we were very well treated by all of the excellent staff, reserving a table for us in the resturant and always trying there best to seat us together if possible. They really went out of their way to oblige at all times.

The towel boys on beach 1 always had a smile on their faces. The food was ok not 5 star but you could always find something to eat, none of us starved and no one was ill.

The entertainment we can not comment on as we made our own, we all said we will go back to this hotel again.

I have just come back from a wonderful holiday at the Pyramisa Sharm El Sheikh. Luckily, I wasn't aware of this website till I was back from the holiday. If I have seen some of the reviews here I would have definitely changed the hotel. But frankly speaking, I had a wonderful holiday and I strongly believe this is one of the best resorts and holidays I have experienced.

The hotel lobby is spectacular, rooms spacious, utterly cleaned every day and with a magnificent view from our balcony overlooking the huge pool and the sea. The artificial waves pool was a daily must and dream for our children as well as the indoor air-conditioned swimming pool.

Food variety was quite satisfactory and you actually had something nice to eat everywhere and around the clock. The specialty restaurants had a quite limited menu with no big choices, but the buffet was enough.

The staff were very helpful although some have a language barrier, a common problem in all resorts.

The sandy beach of Pyramisa is a rare asset in Sharm el Sheikh ideal for the children as well as for adults for snorkelling.

Pyramisa is not a luxurious resort, but an ideal choice for the holiday maker looking for a superb vacation for every member of the family and at attractive money value.

This hotel could do with a little TLC not 5star but 2-3 musr have look great when first built.

Room was good not one cockeroach kept very clean any faults put right same day.Food could have been better did not eat very much son and husband ill.

Breakfast was ok but you soon get sick of eggs. Never see much entertainment mostly aimed at young kids The very large pool was good but could do with a clean tiles hanging of pool bar.the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble.

Be warned if you go on any early morning trips you have to pay for your tea coffee, packed breafast provided. Drinks local brands did not drink much son did, white wine not very good stuck to red. Local beer ok.

Boat trips excellent quad bike great. Snorkling was ace would visit Egpyt again not this hotel. SAGA are going to pull out hardly surprising with all those stairs, views fantastic from our room we travel Sept 2005 year will not change.

We booked independently having heard mixed reviews about this hotel-some people are born whingers and should never leave their home town.

We are very seasoned travellers and have travelled all over the world in all sorts of accommodations. For Egypt this hotel is not bad - not quite 5 star by developed country standards but acceptable.

My 12 year old daughter had a wonderful time, met lots of other kids, was entertained by the entertainment staff with water polo, aerobics, kids disco etc etc-great for a family holiday.

The food, well you get what you pay for, not bad, plenty of choices for everyone. You will always get those who just want to go to KFC and Macdonalds even in the UK and are unhappy about local food and will not even try it!! Catering for so many people, so many different nationalities, the hotel managed very well. We were never ill but did meet some guests who were, unfortunate hazard in very hot foreign countries sometimes.

One should remember that Egypt is an Arab country and as such do not drink alcohol, they served local wine and beer, who can drink much alcohol in the heat anyway.

There were some Brits who sat all day in the sun drinking beer, getting their monies worth, and wondered why they got ill....!!!!

All in all, a pleasent time for a last minute, inexpensive, booking,a clean hotel with pleasent staff although needs to be downgraded and have better general maintenance!

Remember you get what you pay for..

After a good flight we arrived at our hotel and from our first impressions we were impressed.

We were given our keys straight away and our bags were taken to our room by the helpful staff. The location was absolutely fantastic! We had a balcony over looking the beach and sea,it was beautiful!

Our rooms were clean, like the rest of the hotel and big enough for us. The pool, the pool bar and the area around it was peaceful. The pool was not cold and you HAD to go in to cool down.

The weather was red hot and sometimes too hot!! The beach was good and the snorkelling was great!

The only problem we encountered was the disrespectful Russians and Italians and the sunbed situation. The trips to Cairo and Luxor were brilliant!(HIGHLY recommended!)

The BEST holiday we have EVER had!!!

Have just returned from Pyramisa Resort, having spent two glorious weeks there with my family. Having read the previous reviews I was very apprehensive about going on this holiday, so much so that I unsuccessfully tried to get different accomodation.

I really cannot believe the previous readers were at the same hotel, or what standards they had set themselves. Having been all inclusive in the Carribeen the previous two years where standards were very high I had a reasonable idea of what I expected, and I was not dissapointed.

The transfer to the hotel was very quick and efficient. On arrival check-in was equally efficient. Our rooms were exactly what we had requested (Adjacent and on second floor) actually they were connecting rooms. The rooms were basic but everything we needed was there, it was clean and free from insects etc.

Both my children are fussy eaters so I was concerned that this might be a problem, thankfully it was not, on the one or two nights they did not like what was in the buffet they just left and went to the BBQ or Pizzeria where there was always something they liked, they were allowed to return to the buffet for desert etc.
We used the buffet for breakfast and dinner every day and most days we used the BBQ at the beach for lunch. None of us were unwell at any stage of the holiday.

The hotel was very clean and staff were continually mopping and brushing, rooms were thoroughly cleaned each morning.

The hotel is located at the far end on Sharks Bay very near the airport, from parts of the hotel you could actually see planes on the airport runway, however this was not a problem as we were not aware of any noise (cannot explain this, must be the sand or water drowning out the noise). There is quita a steep hill to negotiate going and cominf from the beach, however a free shuttle bus is provided for those who need to avail of it. The hotel also provide a shuttle bus into Naama Bay every hour a cost of 1USD each way. Naama Bay has a variety of shops, restaurants , shops etc. It also has a Mc Donalds, KFC, and Hard Rock Cafe.

Entertainment was reasonable and was in the process of being changed while we were there, noticed a big improvement in week two.

All four of us enjoyed this holiday (Boys 13, and 17 were never bored). We would definately return to this hotel and would recommend it to our friends.

We stayed in a family room. Both rooms were small and very basic. The bathroom was dirty (especially the shower) and very small. The staff entered the room whenever they wanted and did so without knocking first. The food was not very tasty and the 4 of us had stomach upsets all week.Entertainement was non existant. The hotel has a nice swimming pool but there are not enough sunbeds. we had to get up at
5AM in order to get one. There were fights between guests (Russians) every day. This was the worst holiday we've ever had!!

When we first arrived at the hotel our room we were given were not ready, when we eventually got our keys the room stank of smoke and the room was generally dirty and shabby.

We contacted reception but with no results just a bowl of fruit given to us (I pressume to say sorry about the state of the room).

The food at the hotel was appauling, at every meal they served the same food but in slightly different way.
After the 1st day my partner and I both has upset stomachs.
We thought this was just the change but the upset stomach stayed with us for days. My partner was so ill he had to be put on a drip and other medication. After this we ate out in Namma Bay. I believe the upset stomachs were not just caused by the food but all the public toilets at the facilities were dirty.

This hotel has a great location for the excellent snorkelling on the reef in Shark's Bay. It's spacious and has well designed and maintained gardens. The pools are also good. However, that's the end of the good points.

Our room was ok - but in need of some maintenance.
As the two previous reports state - the food is poor and there is little choice. The speciality restaurants are no better. We both got food poisoning. Service is not good in the public areas (restaurant, bars, reception etc.).

The bar would be ok in the evenings except for the 'entertainment'. This consists of two girls who take it in turns to sing along to karaoke backing tapes for two hours with a few breaks. Horrible! The otherwise pleasant beach is spoilt by several hours of thumping music in the morning, unfortunately this seems to be common to all the resorts in the bay.

As for the fitness room - I've seen better gym equipment in the skips at my local tip. Not one item actually worked properly! The staff just laughed when asked if they plan to have it repaired or replaced.

booked for my wifes 50th birthday. the brochures discription of the hotel and the air line they use looked very good. the reality do not go to this hotel under any cirumstances. odyssey switched the flights from excel airways which we have used before to air malta, terrible no video or audio, poor inflight food.poor bar service. airport, a building site.

the hotel,1st room they tried to give me. broken and rusty shower, wires sticking out of the wall, not cleaned properly, telephone did not work. 2nd room, t.v broken, hairdryer broken, no patio furniture.

food disgusting, both got food poisoning, special resturants, dont go rubbish. entertainment, non existent, staff rude, you dont tip you have to bribe, 1 or 2 exceptions. bars, no cocktails, no champagne, no drinks menu, terrible.

the rep agreed it should be down graded. one of the managers that i managed to get to meet after i had written a letter of complaint during my stay said, we have a problem with the russians, they drink and eat too much. of all the places my wife and myself have travelled to over the years this is the worst.

her 50th birthday was ruined, the airport going home, completley un organised and unsecure, if you want to commit some terrorist attack, this is the place, my opinion.

once again do not go to this hotel unless you like food poisoning poor service rubbish food and poor standards. on our return to england we have had to send stool samples to the pathology lab, confirmed food poisoning due to bad hygeiene.take my advice, do not go to this hotel
