The rooms were fantastic, cleaned very well with all you need for a self catering holiday.

We ate in the restaurant most nights and had great meals and and the prices were well worth the money. Car hire I think is a must as most things are not close to the hotel. Hotel staff were FANTASTIC very friendly and very helpful.

We were lucky enough to be there just as they were starting the entertainment and all i can can say is Fantastic once again.

Cant wait to go back again.

The Alto da Colina is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities in both the rooms and the public areas.

The rooms were quite big with large modern kitchen and modern furniture and big balconies. We had a great view of both the main pools and the sea.

Our little girl particularly liked the "Water Toys" as she called them and the playground near the kids club.

We ate in the snack bar 4 nights and also ate from the buffet at one of the themed nights. The food in the hotel was very nice, good value, but i felt that the bars and restaurants were let down by the fact that there were not enough staff. The staff that did work there were great, but were rushed off their feet at times which meant it took quite some time to get served/attract their attention to take your order.

We felt the enterainment was okay, pretty standard for kids/family orientated hotel. Our little girl loved the mini disco, and to be fair i thought the reps did a very good job.

The location was okay, but only because of how cheap taxis are. You could walk to Albufeira in about 25 minutes, but in 30 Degree heat with a small child it wasn't really an option. A taxi costs less than 5 Euros and to come home it is better to ask the staff at a restaurant or bar to phone you one as they are hard to find and flag down.

The beach at Santa Eulalia was lovely and there was a lovely restaurant there as well called cafe atlantic, but again it was quite a walk so we got a taxi back.

We would go here again as the hotel itself is lovely, if a little cut off.

Apartments were one of the most spacious that we have stayed in. Our duaghter who is a kitchen consultant was really impressed with the kitchen layout and equipment. We were on the 3rd floor with a large balcony which had a good sea view, plus a view of the pool and resturant area. Apartment very clean, maids came in everyday except Sunday and were very pleasant and friendly, towels changed every day.

Location not ideal if you do not like walking, but beaches nearby are great, just walk across the main road and go through the Afagar (sister complex) and you can get to the beach via steps (would not advise if you have a pushchair etc. Alternatively when you get to the main road turn left and around 15 minutes walk more nice beaches, plus a large supermarket which was quite cheap. Taxis cost betwen 3:80 and 4:50 Euros depending on the time not including tip (cost more late at night).

Noticed that the poolwater is checked everyday early in morning and the maids clean the sunloungers also early in morning, always sunloungers available but main season not started so may be crowded then.

Hotel staff in reception vary depending on who it is, one very helpful the other no so.

Bar and resturant staff very friendly but overworked.

Reps were excellent especially Richard who could not do enough for you, they were visable all day long, running different activities. Watched the Greese show on the first tryout, hilarious.

Will be returning to this complex again in September as although it is quite a trek if you want to visit the Strip, there is enough around if you want a good relaxing beach holiday without discos blasting your ears every night.

The alto da colina is an excellent hotel, the rooms are bright and clean with large balconies, we had a superior sea view room and the views were fantastic. Entertainment in the hotel was limited as it was april and low season however my children all enjoyed staying around the hotel as they made lots of friends. We had a fabulous holiday and would go back.

The complex itself is very clean, however the maids didn't do as good a job of our rooms. Towels and bedding not the problem just general things like sweeping, mopping etc.. I'm only comparing it to previous holidays we've had.

Only ate in the bar once and it was a pizza, tasty but a bit expensive for what you got. Mind you it's like that in any complex.

The bar/restaurant seemed to be understaffed the few times we visited it, maybe because it was low season but the barman was running around like a headless chicken all the time.

Reception staff I found to be quite ignorant. You could be stood there for a good few minutes before they even acknowledged you.

The entertainment was only on for the last few days of our holiday as it was the start of the summer season for them.

As I've found in most family complexes it the usual substandard reps doing karaoke, bingo, quizzes etc... Not that I'm dissing it, it's not idea of entertainment.

It certainly would not put me off visiting the complex again in the near future. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't on the doorstep of the restaurant/bars and the pools are lovely.

We have been 3 times to the Alto Da Colina. No problems what so ever. It is the one and only holiday resort we have ever visited more than once! It suits us and our child of 3yrs -

Kids clubs are fantastic and very memorable for my daughter who started in the tweety creche and when we go again in June she will be in the bugs bunny club. I have a few hints and tips that I have picked up along the way, so mail with any specifics. Over all, you won't find a cleaner, newer hotel.

Entertainment will not suit everyone.. definitely family med style, not cruise ship standard... but not all of us go for a parrot show! There are many places to get out and see at night... and I'm talking early evening as we have a child!

The hotel food was excellent with a wide choice of food to choose from and good value for money.

The staff at the hotel were very frienly especialy the waiters in the bars and resturant, even the entertainment staff were friendly most of who you could have a laugh with.

The hotel was a bit out of the way as you had to go by taxi if you wanted to go some where. The hotel was always clean because every morning you would find a cleaner cleaning the floors, tables, apartments and even cleaners checking the quality of the swimming pool water.

I would stay at the hotel Alto Da Colina again as I felt welcomed staying there as if was a friendly welcoming place.

The hotel was nice and clean.

Rooms was nice and big, everything for a self catering holiday was in your room. Nice size balcony to sit and relax.

Would recommend it to friends.

Location a bit too far to walk to the strip so taxis all the time.

Food from the hotel restaurant was excellent and a very good choice.

We stayed for two weeks and only one fault and that was the location.

Being a new hotel the facilities and standards of the accommodation were excellent. The apartments were first class, very spacious, huge balconies and well equipped. Having a 6month old baby in our family we welcomed having a microwave and proper kettle in which to prepare milk bottles/baby food! The apartments themselves were one of the best we have stayed in.

The 2 swimming pools never seemed over busy and were spotlessly clean, the splash area by the 2nd pool kept the children very entertained.

The restaurant food was good value and tasty but as there was not much variation on the menu after a few days it became monotonous.

A well stocked supermarket on site was handy as there were virtually no shops in the surrounding area.Selling British as well as local produce.

The hotel staff and tour operator staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them.

I would definitely visit the hotel again either when our children are older or when there are more shops/restaurants etc within the surrounding area as the taxi trip to the strip became a hassle!
