Sahara Beach Hotel WELL !!!! We were booked in All inclusive for 14 days and ended up staying for 1 night.

Arrived at 9.30pm to be told no food or snack available unless we paid at the pizza place. We thought were we all inclusive and as we had travelled and missed our evening meal perhaps some kind of snack could be laid on. The kids were hungry.

Our first greeting from the hotel staff was to be snapped at to hurry and get our photo taken. Very rude and arrogant. Porter waited for a tip and insisited with his hand held out. Explained we had no dinars so he said english money then.

Queue queue queue. And then expect the other paying guests to be served first. One card one drink. So my husband struggled to get a drink for us all unless he showed every card and they then looked at us to identify who we were.

Breakfast the next day. I felt sick in the dining room. Give me Butlins anyday. It was cramped, food all over the chairs and windows. Stable and horse smell which attracted thousand of flies all over the food. Didn't eat.....

Rooms quite small but ok. Clean and presentable. No probs with this.

Thomson rep excellent explained not happy and with in 6 hours we had been moved to the Houda hotel. Whot a difference.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. We weren't the only people to be moved, we found out later that week the day before 9 groups were moved and 6 after us.

I cannot beleive that people have been so negative about this hotel. The food at this hotel is not great, but there is plenty of choice, even if it is basic. I did not notice any flies in the dining room, although it is warm in there...Tunisia is a hot country!
I had no problems at all with the staff in the bars or reception, if you make an effort to chat and joke with the staff they are more likely to make the effort with you. They were not rude when I took up a big bunch of cards to get drinks.
The entertainment was mostly focused around children, but there is stuff for adults as well. There is a nightclub open until 2am, which may not be top quality but is a real laugh.
The rooms are small, but clean and our housekeeper was lovely.
The reception area can be smoky, but that is because there are 2 bars off this area. There is no need to sit inside the reception area anyway as there are nicer bars to sit in which have outside areas.

Where do i start?.....

Initial impression of hotel was very basic and dated. The staff were far from friendly and some generally quite rude.

Restaurant was always packed to the extent that your allocated table is given away day to day and then expected to join another table with German speaking guests! All inclusive for food stops at 9.00pm thereafter you have to pay which is fine as long as you like pizza. I paid for all inclusive however spent an additional

in all the years of going abroad on holiday (which takes me all year to save up for)and look forward too, sun,sea a dip in the pool and most of all TOO RELAX. not on this holiday at the SAHARA BEACH HOTEL

from the minute we got there(which was late in the evening) we where herded about like cattle,we waited for ages for our cases to be brought up to our room,we would have gladly taken them ourselves, the porter bless him didnt get a tip orrrrrr! cos we missed him when we'd come down to complain.

that was just the beggining of complaints. one waiter made innapropriate comments about my 5 yr old grandaughter,a chap in the 24/7 bar practically threw the cappacinos at me, food what food my stomach thought my throat had been cut and eventually when i was that hungry i did manage to eat something, i ended up with diahorria and severe stomach cramps, the kids lived on bread and chips for the whole 2 weeks. if you like raw onions and veg for BREAKFAST then your ok. getting a table at meal time was a joke after a few arguements and being shoved from table to table, you have to stand your ground. we will have been home a week this wed and we are still ill.

we didnt venture out of the hotel on any trips as we were fed up of being pestered for tips in the hotel let alone elsewhere. the kids were bored out of there minds never have we been in bed for 9pm on holiday,if you dont get in the skanes bar by 8.30 and thats pushing it you've no chance of getting a seat, there is an awful smell around the place flies every where and i mean every where. i felt sick when i visited the stables the stench was unbearable and the horses where in a very poor state so sad.

the noise outside the room on a night would start at 11pm and end at 2.30 it was chaos fighting, shouting banging almost every night.the only nice person i can say i spoke to was the maid. she got a good tip.

you have to be the early bird to get the sun bed 4.30am lol then a man who looked after the beds would want a tip for getting you a mattress,TIP send your kids for them when they get up.

we managed to get to know quite a few people (you know who you are) if we hadn't i dread to think what it would have been like. the go-carting track is a place to visit up the road(thats all there is)well worth the money.

and finally the PANORAMA REP what a waste of space she was with her vacant look derrrrr. will i be visiting there again...not on your nelly and anyone who is thinking of going there dont. so i didnt relax and have a stress free holiday,

The Sahara Beach is Huge, thought I would never find my way about but the travel brochure does state this!

The hotel was clean and when we sat in reception the staff were constantly cleaning up cups, wiping tables etc.

The hotel food was lovely with a good variety plenty meat, chicken potatoes, rice, fish, pasta and chips. A lot of people we met complained but I can honestly say "what do u want" if you want traditional same old same old go to Spain.

We did find flies a bit of a problem in the Restaraunt but we took food from the bottom and were fine. Though I can see why people would complain.
The weather in Tunisia is HOT what do people expect!
The location was perfect for us short walk to beach which had lovely clear water and hot, also plenty pools for the wee one.

As we were only there for a week we basically spent all day at either pool or beach.

The hotel staff were pleasant enough and we did not wait too long for drinks..all about the timing...considering the amount of people at this Hotel.

We did not go to any of the entertainment as my son was too tired anyway, but from what I heard it was busy. Although when we were leaving they were building a huge outdoor Stage with plenty of seating and space for the kids too run about I am sure it will be great.

I would not visit this hotel again only because I never go to the same place twice.

We enjoyed our holiday only because we can relax and chill and dont get too uptight about things...just remember where you are!! and make the most of it.

JUST RETURNED FROM A NIGHTMARE!!! If you have booked the sahara beach PLEASE DON'T GO!
Hotel is horrible. Staff RUDE, UNHELPFUL. Food ok but repetitive. Public areas of hotel DIRTY. Entertainment WHAT ENTERTAINMENT?

Located next to nothing. Rats & flies liked the hotel though, coz there was plenty of them. During our stay many people we spoke to were paying extra money to move out of this hotel.

First Choice are well aware what goes on in this hotel & still take bookings. PS. leave your cat at home as you won't be able to swing it in your room or on the balcony.

Finally moved after 1 week at a price.
Been to Tunisia before different hotel & resort & thoroughly enjoyed it.

We would reccomend this hotel for a fantastic holiday. The hotel has everything you need for a great holiday, unless you would like to go on the day trips there is no need to leave the hotel area.

The hotel staff are kind and happy. They help whenever you need help and like to have a laugh with you.

I would like to mention the cleaner on the far end of floor 6 block 2, he was great, no matter how messy the room was it was always tidy to go back to - but we are not saying leave them 2 messy !!! The waiters are very friendly. At the end of our stay we left our waiter and cleaner a tip - we reccomend this !!

The food was of a high standard, there is something for everyone.
The hotel is situated on its own beach where you will find water sports and an all inclusive beach bar.

Just outside there is a fantastic zoo for any ages. The animals range from camals to guinea pigs. There are many birds which range from pigeons to ostriches.- The monkeys are Quality !!

We enjoyed our stay in the Sahara Beach hotel that we are re-visiting the hotel in November.

We have just returned from this hotel on Monday.

The hotel was kept clean there was always someone sweeping and washing the floors. The room size was very small compared to what we are used to, but again was clean if not basic, the air conditioning was not too good though and you have a hand held shower.

The food was not the best in the world and i lived off salad for the whole two weeks, my kids survived on a diet of chips and ice cream. The choice of food was very repetitive but i have found this to be the same in most all inclusive hotels. The staff all seemed very friendly allthough it was a bit of a hassel getting drinks using the card scheme as you can only get one at a time.

The entertainment the first week was pretty bad and you were stuck in a room which was not big enough for the ammount of guests staying, you had to get to dinner early in order to get a seat.

The second week the shows were a lot better and were moved to the outside bar which meant everyone could get a seat.

The second week the entertainment group did well with the lion king and grease shows.

My husband and I went to the Sahara for our Honeymoon and had a lovely time. The hotel rooms were clean. Food not so good, lived on Pizza and chips for the week. You did feel as though you should tip everybody but apart from this we had a really good time the beach was lovely and the swimming pools were great. We always managed to get more than one drink at time even though we were all inclusive, but maybe this was because there was only two of us. You have guaranteed sunshine, flight 2 1/2 hours. I would recommend this resort.
