Upon arrival the hotel seemed ok, it has a large foyer and friendly English speaking reception staff.

When we got to the room all you could smell was sewage and the floor was dusty where it hadn't been mopped etc.

During the warmer weather all the seating is outside and if you leave your food to get drinks expect sparrows to be all over the tables and your food. The staff make no effort to keep them away.

The pools aren't heated and were absolutley freezing it took literally 15 minutes to lower yourself in slowly if you wanted to swim. The adults only pool is full of kids as there apperas to be no enforcement of the hotel rules.

The annimation team are appaling, I think I spent one of the worst nights of my life watching one of their shows. Parts of it were racist and the other parts involved some of the team engaging in simulated homosexual sex acts infront of children. Most of the "entertainment" involves picking women out of the crowd and judging them on attractiveness.

On one evening, when we were both feeling ill and had sore throats, we recieved a phone call when we were asleep telling us that we had to leave out room for two hours for workmen to undertake essential maintenance. Unhappy about this we went to the customer relations manager who is to this date the rudest woman I have ever met, we recieved no appology. When we eventualy returned to the room the essential maintenance had been completed, they had screwed some curtain tie back hooks to the wall - badly and left piles of sawdust and a bent nail on the flaw.

I'm still amazed at how they managed to get sawdust out of a wall that is obviously made of cardboard, every door slaming and bang from anywhere in the block of nine rooms can be heard in yours. This includes people who can't keep the noise down during intercourse.

The private beach is littered with local peasants selling strawberys and stolen goods.

The landscapes surrounding the hotel are amazing and the weather in March/April is quite hot (enough to tan). Overall, it'll be a cold day in hell before I visit this hotel again.

We stayed in the marmaris palace and I have returned home this morning.

Firstly before we travelled I had read all the bad reportts but thought that people were being over fussy, how wrong could I be!

There is absolutely no way this hotel is a 4 srar more like 2+ the tablecloths are always filthy the whole place needs shuting down and having a lot of money spent on it.

Upon arrival, we were met by friendly staff who were very good with the children considering they were very tired from travelling and our time of arrival.

Room - We found this to be quite basic and clean. Disappointed to have no tea and coffee making facilities although we were prepared for this and bought our own kettle. Small fridge available in the room which was useful and also safe available (at additional cost). Our room was kept clean on a regular basis. Balconies were rather small and as we had arrived with extended family, this proved difficult for four adults to sit whilst young children slept.

Food - Food was in abundance in main dining room and beautifully presented, however, we felt that not much was being done to keep flies and wasps at bay that could be clearly seen feasting upon the cold salads and desserts.

We have just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel and have had an excellent time. I will try to put as much info down as possible but if you would like to know anything else please feel free to email me with your questions - samilamp@aol.com. I read many reviews before we went and saw that there were mixed opinions. We had a pretty bad start, not the fault of the hotel but the tour operator, but soon settled in. This is what I thought....

Arrival - Reception staff were a little abrupt on arrival but other than that were mainly friendly and spoke good english. There are staff on hand who will take your cases to your room.

Accomodation - We stayed in a family bungalow room and were fortunate to be close to the main hotel building. Some of the bungalows are situated a fair walk away so be sure to ask for one close to the main complex if you have any difficulty in walking any distance as some of them are slightly up hill too. The rooms are fairly basic, the furniture is a little dated and the bed linen and curtains are a little naff. However, it is very clean and the maids visit most days. We always seemed to have clean towels and plenty of loo roll!! The room was also sprayed with mozzie spray while we were there. We took a mozzie plug in but we had only a few bites between us all.

Complex - We didn't walk around the whole complex but met people who were situated in bungalow rooms some way from the main building. It is very close to the beach and all activities etc are situate close to the hotel.

Entertainment - We found this excellent. The children with us (6 aged between 9 and 12), were kept busy all the time. There was plenty to do for all ages. From water polo to darts and football. There was entertainment around the main pool from 10 until 12, ending with club dance (which you will have perfected by the end of your holiday!). The team were also dressed up in various outfits from, Danny and Jacob were the most hilarious! In the morning you could play table tennis, water polo, and there was also a fun game around the pool. In the afternoon there was darts, boules, beach volley ball and football. On occasion there was also arm wrestling, chess and mini table tennis. The entertainment team - know as the 'animation team', were excellent. A special mention to Jacob, Sadat (who sadly left during our stay),Alex (Ukranian) and Danny (the turkish dwarf!), also Humdi (Chief of the team). They always took the time to stop and chat and never pressure you into taking part, although could be quite persuasive at times. The evening enteraintment was good too. The childrens entertainment started at 9 or 9.30 I think with a mini disco (our children were a bit too old for it). There was a show on in the amphitheatre every night starting at 10, it did say for adults but our children came with us and I personally think it was suitable for them. This was either put on by the animation team of by a group of Ukranian dancers. I preferred the ones by the animation team but the dancers were also very good. The Rocky Horror Show and Stars in Thier Eyes were my favourites. The evening entertainment also ended with the club dance (to the tune of Shake your Tailfeather from the Blues Brothers).

Food - I had never been all inclusive before so had nothing to compare it too and on the first day we caught the end of the sitting and were very disappointed. However, the following day things got better. The waiters were very friendly and very efficient at clearing the tables.

At breakfast you can expect fruit, salad, cold meats and cheese, fresh bread - which can be toasted and cereal. You can also have omelettes and fried eggs freshly cooked. You have to queue but is only usually for a few minutes. There is also tea, coffee, water and juice/fruit drinks.

Lunch was a wide variety of cold salads, meat and cheese and there was a choice of around 3-4 hot meat/fish dishes with either rice, cous cous, potatoes and veg. There was also something being cooked on the grill which was either fish, chicken, meatballs or sausage. Chips or wedges were also freshly cooked. There was also pasta and spaghetti with 4 different sauces and grated cheese. Soup is also available. Various fresh bread and butter were also available. There was also a pitta type bread with different fillings. There was also a wide range of sweet sticky puddings and fresh fruit. The bar was also open for soft drinks and alcohol. Fruit juices were available from a self serve pump.

From 2pm - 4pm everyday you can also get food at the beach bar. This was usually salad, wedges or chips, a pasta dish, and burgers or sausages or meatballs. No puddings though.

Dinner was much the same as lunch with a wide variety of salads, breads, and hot dishes. There would also be either fish, turkey, chicken or steak cooked on the grill each night. There was a very wide range of puddings, most were very syrupy and very sweet, very traditionally turkish but all worth a try.

At midnight for half an hour there was soup and bread on offer. We had this most nights and it was a nice end to the evening.

I found the drinks were fine. Local spirits and beer were available and they were all good. Soft drinks included sprite, real coke, and fanta. There were also fruit juices available and the kids favourites were to ask for a fruit cocktail. The barman usually mixed various juices and put in some colouring to make it look pretty!

Free ice cream was also availble for the children on Wednesdays between 1.30 and 3. They could have as many as they wanted but could only get one at a time. We also had ice cream for pudding one night.

Overall I would say the food was very good. I did get a little fed up with seeing the same thing after about 10 days though. If you can afford to eat out a little I would suggest doing this a few times to break up the monotony.

Other - On thursday night they have 'Turkish Night'. This includes a few extra Turkish dishes at dinner and the entertainment is traditional Turkish dancers and a belly dancer (Yosan, one of the animation team).

The turkish like english money and you will get a better deal at the markets and shops if you are paying in sterling. You will also get a better rate in changing sterling over there rather than changing it here.

There is a market in Icmeler on Wednesday and in Marmaris on Thursday. We visited the Icmeler one and it took several hours to get around it. You can get some very good bargains and pick up some very good 'genuine fakes', but be prepared to be dragged into stalls for a look with 'no hassle'. Most of them will tell you it is 'cheaper than chips/asda/primark/matalan or shoplifting!' The Turks also seem to have picked up many english colloqualisms like 'cheeky bugger', 'hey blondie/ginger'(depending on hair colour), 'too bloody much', 'hey lady'. The market is definitely not for the timid and can be quite scary. But if you like your designer labels then this is the place for you. You can get 5 men t-shirts - dolce and gabbana, diesel, fcuk, ted baker, hugo boss, lacoste, dior and many more, all for a tenner! Lots of trainers, handbags and watches too. Take an empty suitcase if you can!!

From the hotel you can take a pleasant walk to Icmeler along the sea front in about 20-30 minutes. To get to Marmaris you can take a taxi - if you haggle they will take you for 10 Lira (about

The hotel complex is very attractively located in a beautiful setting. All facilities were well maintained and cleaned.

Unfortunately the main restaurant was reminiscent of a holiday camp. Unsupervised children running around and making a lot of noise. No system for queuing which led to people pushing in quite rudely.

After first evening, we paid extra for A la carte restaurants every night.

The food and service in the Italian restaurant was excellent. The Turkish less good but still better ambiance than main buffet. We didn't try the Fish restaurant.

Similar problems in the so called adult pool areas. Lots of unruly children apparently unsupervised. The adult only rule needs to be enforced. We chose to sunbathe at the "posh" jetty where the Fish restaurant is located. We had to pay for drinks but it was worth it for some peace and quiet. The music, however, became louder as the day went on and at the weekend it was very busy with locals.

Facilities for families seem good, but it is not really suitable for groups of adults.

A note of caution about the slippery slopes. They are quite dangerous when wet. Wear shoes with a good tread.

We made the best of an unsuitable location and all enjoyed our holiday. Most of the staff are very helpful and attentive and seem to really enjoy their work.

We are normally placid people and it takes a lot to make us complain about a holiday. However, we unfortunately have a few things to say:

We have a 2 year old child so when we saw electric sockets hanging out from the walls it was quite disturbing. Also, this is one of the noisiest AI hotels we have stayed at, even though we were put into a 'quiet' room. Unless you drink you will may not sleep until noise quietens at 3am (admittedly the noise was not coming from our hotel but neighbouring bars / hotels).

The hotel is surrounded by tall trees, and although picturesque this hotel may not be the best for sun worshippers as you will be fighting for all-day sun spots. The kids pools are in complete shade, which although is good for your kids this is no fun for you.

Hotel staff are sometimes friendly, but only when they know you. Other guests are always pushing in the queues so you will end up just as rude by the end of the holiday.

Rooms were cleaned at awkward times, and not every day. They only made an effort by adding flowers on the bed at the end of the holiday when they knew it was close to 'tip' time. The rooms were not cleaned properly either.

Hotel food was quite repetitive and we became quite bored of the food. Many other guests complained of food poisoning, and we had the odd upset stomach. The only decent food is on 'Turkey Night' on Thursdays. Otherwise, the food could be better.

The kids minidisco was average and although they have a lot of people in the entertainment team the shows in the evening were pretty poor.

I would NOT recommend the hotel to anyone else.

We have just had a week in this hotel and as it was April we expected it to be reasonably quiet how wrong we sadly were, the all inclusive meals were very limited extremely poor choices of hot dishes, about 2 a night, loads of salads, desserts were turkish and werent nice, we didnt see any cakes, just jelly type things and custard/angel delight puddings, so on the whole we were very disappointed with food.

Big queues aswell which didnt help, none of us had omelette for breakfast as the queque was around 10-15 people deep this was mainly the only thing that was freshly cooked infront of you, I assume because we got this hotel at a good out of season price then the quality and quantity of food was reduced , if the standards were this limited in the height of the season then they would be big complaints especially waiting in queues which I hate its like being back at school again !!

Rooms were average but more 3 star standard, so in general I would class it more 3 star.

Good points were the views from the hotel and beach area were lovely, my daughter enjoyed the ice skating too,and mini disco although it was only 30 mins.

Pool areas got busy, and a lot of parents allowed children to go into the adult only pool and adult only entertainment which I don't agree with, the children struggled to find anything they would eat and lived on chips for the week, ice cream was served once a week, and the prices to buy a lolly etc were triple town prices.

I wouldn't stay at this hotel again and hope that the food improves for the summer.

When arrived at hotel no one welcomed us from the staff. No one told us how to get to our room also there was no one around to show us.

The welcome meeting was rubbish because the reps didn't tell about you have to pay to use any of the sport activities and in the week. I never found the tennis court and entertainment at night was rubbish.

Hotel cleanliness was very poor to find out it was a four star hotel and the room was always cleaned between six and seven at night and they didn't even make the bed.

TV channels were rubbish because half of them were in Turkish and none were in English.

We arrived at the hotel at 7am along with about another 120 people from our flight but we were checked in and directed to our room without delay.

The room was a bit basic but clean and spacious there were a couple of minor problems but these were rectified within 5 minutes of reporting to reception.

The food was good with a good choice at all meals the hotel was fairly busy but no queues for food.

All areas of the hotel were very clean with many outside areas hosed down every morning.

The staff were helpful and generally friendly (cleaners tended not to speak much).

Some of the entertainment staff worked hard but the shows were a little disapointing. All sports were included (20 lire deposit re-paid on return of equipment)motorised water sports at extra cost.

The hotel location was good in a quiet area on its own small beach yet only a 20 minute stroll to Icmeler
or 15 minute taxi ride to marmaris about

I travelled with my partner and two children aged 5 and 17 months.

When we arrived at the hotel it was about 07.00 in the morning so we were very tired after travelling right through the night. We were help off of the coach with our luggage, checked in and were shown to our room very quickly, we gave the porter a
