I definately recomend this hotel to anyone.

The staff were the best part of the holiday they all made you feel so welcome

I cried all the way home as I did not want to leave,

Having never been to Turkey before I was a bit wary of going........getting off the plane in Dalaman made my fears more real as the heat was stifling !! but anyway, off we plodded on the long bus trip to our apartments.

2 minutes (if that) from the main drag are the Palm Gardens, I was so happy we got those ones as the others we had dropped off at (even the all inclusives) looked rank !!

2 of the night staff took our bags to our rooms and we were left to settle in, the rooms are spacious, beds comfy, and apart from the cockerel round the back (which they do try and chase away) it is very very quiet.

1st day we met the staff, who I have to say were all great, some more so than others, Adam/Adem was always willing to help out, Jay Jay was there for the laughs, and of course as eye candy for the younger girls !!! The owners are nice guys, always willing to help out, Ali is almost always there, and Sebastian is about most of the time as well, they are very child friendly which makes the apartments perfect for children, although towards the end of our holiday it was kind of taken over by brats who burst every pool toy not belonging to them, but the owners cant pick who books to stay there so they cant be put at fault for that.

The apartments are cleaned daily by 2 sisters, they keep the place spotless, they even helped my eldest get dressed one day lol. I was forever coming in to find interesting patterns folded into the sheets on my bed, and they gave us plenty of towels, more than enough to keep us going daily.

The pool area is cleaned daily, hosed down and buffed etc etc, sunbeds tidied away, its a holiday makers dream !!

The bar serves food, which is at a competetive price but not the cheapest which I think is why some people went out at nights despite them having a bit of evening entertainment.

The entertainment when we went was really only coming in to its own, they were trying a lot of new things and as the 2 weeks passed more and more people were opting to spend their nights at the bar rather than brave the streets and the 'hasslers' but I have faith that in a few weeks they will have worked out a winning combination of evening entertainment for everyone. One warning though, the barbeque night, food great etc etc, you WILL be expected to tip the bellydancer and breakdancers, which we were not told and it bothered a lot of people as they had already paid for tickets and thought it was free entertainment. But other than that, its all good entertainment wise.

We will be back for sure to the Palm Gardens, but not in the 50 degree heat !! next time we will leave it till September when its a bit cooler, us Scots canny take that heat !

You genuinely couldnt get a better place to holiday, I cannot recommend it high enough.

This was our second time to the Palm Garden Apartments in Icmeler. We first stayed there in May 2005, just after the apartments were built and had a great time.

We decided to return again in June 2007 and I am glad to report that we had one of the best holidays in our six years of staying in Icmeler.

For the purposes of this review I will separate the main scoring criteria into topics.

Cleanliness

The apartments are cleaned on a daily basis by sisters Du Du and Gulsum (spelling), these two young ladies kept the apartments to a good standard of cleanliness and seemed very happy in their work. Towels and bedding were changed on a regular basis while bins were emptied daily.

This was our third time at Palm Gardens and I'm afaid it has gone downhill.

Cracked walls and cracked floor tiles an accident waiting to happen. I took pics and would post them if possible.

Cleaning was to a sub-standard. Floors in particular were very dirty, your feet were never clean, even after coming out of the shower. One day the bins weren't emptied and I had to run after the maid.

Bar and restaurant prices were being increased every couple of days and the menu was being adjusted. For example, one day you would get chips with your sandwich but the next day we were told that chips weren't included. My son has chicken nuggets and on each occasion these were burnt.

Check you bill, as we found we were being overcharged.

BEWARE: If you don't buy from the bar and restaurant you will be ignored, this behaviour is extremely rude and unneccessary.

If your children have lilo's etc, take them to your room as these were disappearing from the pool area on a nightly basis. Spoke to the rep but he was Turkish and wasn't interested.

Staff have changed every year, so don't expect to see the same faces.

I love Icmeler but won't be staying at the Palm Gardens again and a few other families who have been going for 3 years were the same. What a waste and a shame!!!

We arrived at the Palm Gardens at midnight and from the outside, first impressions you think 'is this it?'
However when you go through the gate you think wow!

The reception and bar area are situated on a raised area and the apartments are down some steps and surround the pool area. The apartments are backed by stunning mountains.

The complex is well placed in a quiet area on the edge of the old town but close to Icmeler centre for bars and restaurants. 10 minutes walk either way for the old/new town depending on how quickly you walk.

Rooms were spacious and clean. The extra beds are pull out chair beds. You have a fridge, kettle, toaster and a 2ring hob. Hotel also supplies a hairdryer.

Rooms were cleaned every day. Beware of the shower as basically it's rubbish. One minute it's cold then scalding so don't put small children under it.

Pool area was clean with plenty of sunbeds available and bean bags to relax on. The water slides were excellent. There are two of them. They are turned on for 2 hours twice a day and supervised during busy times.

The apartments do have a restaurant which serve snacks for lunch and an A La Carte menu for the evenings. Food was fine but tended to be a bit too English for us.

I've scored the entertainment as a 2 simply because there were only 2 organised nights. A lottery party and a Turkish night. The Turkish night was good. All you can eat Turkish buffet. Breakdancing/Waiter and Bellydancing show followed.

The staff here make these apartments. Ali the owner, is brilliant, always asking if you are ok and enjoying your holiday. He will also provide a taxi transfer if you email him, this was so welcomed as we avoided a 3 hour transfer with First Choice. If you ask him he will also give you a lift in his minibus free of charge. We had a free run into Marmaris when we were there, and a lift to the beach.

Bar staff really efficient and attentive, Memhet,Sunny and Chuck work so hard.

Supermarkets are everywhere so no problem buying your bits and pieces. The Tansas supermarket was the cheapest but it's the furthest away, only by about 15 minutes walk, but lugging 3ltr water bottles and cans of coke in 40 degree heat isn't much fun just to save a few Lire. Remember to bring your own loo rolls!

In all we had a fantastic holiday and would recomend these apartments to anyone. We were so upset to leave as the staff almost became like friends. One word of warning you have to book early to get in here. Ali only has 36 apartments and when we arrived in August he only had 3 apartments left for August 2007, such is the popularity of this accomodation.

Prices at Palm Gardens were as follows:-

When I first arrived at the hotel I thought that we were placed in the middle of nowhere but in fact it is in an ideal location. The busy streets of bars and restaurants are just round the corner from the apartments which is perfect as you are able to sleep soundly at night by not hearing any of the noise from the bars and clubs.

The hotel rooms are cleaned everyday by two hard working maids (doodoo and ghershin)although quite often the floor seemed to be dirty and uncleaned. We had to get a spare towel and try to clean the floor ourselves. Other than that the cleanliness of the rooms are superb.

Although the apartments are self catering there is a little restaurant/ cafe by the bar that does delicious food at reasonable prices. For eating out there is a number of good restaurants to go to. One of my favourites would be Venice restaurant on the street going down to the beach front. Bambnoo also does quite nice food. I would not recommend going to Titanic as my younger sister ended up in hospital for 4 days after eating food from there. That was devastating for all of us.

The staff are very helpful with anything that you ask them to do but some of them did seem to be too friendly with some girls and would hang around them like flies trying to get some you know what! There is one lad in particular who doesn't seem to do much other than strut around the apartments trying to act all big. You will be able to notice who this one is - he is also the nicest looking of them but I suggest that you keep your daughters away from him.

There is hotel entertainment on two nights of the week. On a Wednesday there is the lottery night which is quite good fun and on a Saturday night it is the Turkish Night. This is a fun night but the girl belly dancer didn't really seem to dance at all... all that she done was prance around the tables plaguing the men to put money in her bra! She went away with quite a handful that night.

Overall the hotel was a nice place to stay and there are a few people who went the same time as me who have said that they are wanting to book up to go again next year!

After visiting the Palm Gardens with friends (who know Ali the owner)last September we decided to book for this year.It proved to be our best holiday In Icmeler so far. The apartments are great, spacious, clean, in an excellent location and the pool and the slides were great.

The food was superb, especially Sebastians Goulash and the Menemen we tried for breakfast was better than a full English any day.

The rooms were cleaned every day by 2 very hard working maids, DooDoo and Gershin. They are very friendly and helpful (even teaching me how to cook Turkish revali Cake)
The beds are spacious and comfortable and the AC is good. Hairdryers are provided in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you might need including a toaster.

The location is brilliant, just at the back of the Caria Hospital in a lovely quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and music bars. Near enough for the beach and the shops.

The staff were amazing. Ali should be so proud of them. They made our holiday so special, joining in the fun at the BBQ night and the Lottery party night, especially when we dressed up "little chef" as a belly dancer. He was such a good sport and we ensured that he got plenty of tips tucked into the bra I lent him for the night.

Ali arranged a football match for all the Dads and their sons to play against the staff, down at the football ground in the old Village. It was great fun, a bit hot for our lads I guess, as we lost 14 - 2, even Ali played until he got sent to the sin bin to cool down for 10 mins.

We were all sad when it was time to come home, the staff gave us a rousing send off along with the guests we left behind.Everyone has promised to stay in touch and we are hopefully meeting there again at the same time next year. Captain Ali and Sebastian are superb hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure that anything you request is provided.

Excellent!!!
