Hi, we're flying Easyjet from Bristol to Palma in October. Haven't used them before and a bit apprehensive (we've always done package holidays). Is there anything we should know? We've booked speedy boarding and have a 5 year old.
You appear to have everything covered and should have no problems at all, just abide by their terms and conditions concerning luggage as you do with any low cost airline. We use Easy Jet frequently and have never had a moments concern, enjoy Mallorca.
You need to make sure that your API details have been completed before the day of travel. If you didn't supply indvidual passport details etc. when you booked you should go into the "Manage Bookings" section on the website and fill in the details required. This also applies on a package but sometimes they do it at check-in, one reason why charter check-in deadlines are so much longer than easyjet's! You will get an email from easyjet a few days before you go which shows whether or not it's done so you shouldn't forget. Make sure your email spam filter is either off or set to allow everything from easyjet.com as they may also email changes in flight times, although that's unlikely this late in the season.
Hi... We flew with ej in August and boarded after the speedy boarders as my daughter was 5. I asked staff and they infomred me that anybody travelling with a child 5 or under go after the sb's... Not sure if this helps anybody. I have booked again for next summer and have decided not to opt for sb.
So Ruth24 are you saying we've wasted our money booking speedy boarding because we can't go first anyway because of travelling with a 5 year old? If that's right then surely we should be entitled to a refund on the cost of SB. We only paid for it so we could make sure we were together and first (well one of the first) to get on the plane. They shouldn't have taken the SB payment for our 5 year old if that's right.
You will be able to board first, with other speedy boarders. The point Ruth24 is making is that, since anyone travelling with a child of 5 or under is permitted to board in the next group, just after the sbs you really don't need to pay for it.
Ah I seeeeee!! Ah well, something to note for the future. Thanks Ruth, and Carol.
But what you have to bear in mind is that because so few people with or without SB read how it works when they book and only about 2 people per flight pay any attention to notices and announcements at the gate there'll probably be a mob blocking the gate which you'll have to get through if you don't get there first. Unless you like elbowing your way through crowds it's a waste of money at most airports because of poor organisation, of the 5 I've used this year only Gatwick had decent organisation, Manchester did a half hearted attempt once out of two, the rest didn't bother (Zurich was the worst surprisingly).
Unfortunately you do get a bit of a mob instinct developing if the gate isn't well organised. Just make sure you arrive at the gate in good time and you will be fine.
We've only booked SB once, and were happy cos we got exit row seats (extra leg room). Normally we don't bother and have never had a problem with seating, but my kids are older so its not a worry if we are separated by a few rows.
SB will also give you quicker check-in at dedicated SB desk. It wouldn't do any harm to ask Easyjet if you could cancel the SB, since you don't really need it. I can't imagine you would get a refund, but they might credit your account.
Just back from Malaga, flew from Newcastle Speedy boarding great. Speedy boarders called first and walked to the plane. on return at Malaga separate queue for speedy boarders then the rest of the passengers in another queue. walked straight onto plane. No problems at all
Ditto on above post from Edinburgh to Basel. Speedy boarding worked great and well controlled at both airports. Great flights both ways, and arrived early on both flights. Very impressed!
Can someone tell me who has been on easyjet and printed out boarding passes do they or do they not put details of hold baggage on the boarding passes.. Thanks
Hi ray ... while you wait to hear from Easyjet passengers, can you confirm that you have paid a baggage fee ? Easyjet give a 20kg baggage allowance, but you still have to pay a fee per flight/per piece of hold baggage in order to make use of that allowance.
Hi David, yes we have paid a baggage fee for 1 hold of luggage..
