I see. I originally chose Laganas but not sure about all the clubs. Where as I thought Kalamaki was to close to the airport.

most aircraft cross the beach between Laganas and Kalamaki, Depending on what type of accommodation and when you go, the 18/30 mob need not worry you, we went in may 08 to Laganas and chose a hotel to the east of the main strip area [about 15 mins walk] and were not disturbed at all,

Right about Argassi, horrible beach and very much a German resort, have not been to Alykanas but beach looks nice. Have been to Tsivili and really enjoyed it, nice beach and great bars ( not 18-30 mob though) I would not go to Laganas for this reason, went for a day trip and did not like it at all, very busy and looked a bit grotty (just my opinion!) Tsivili strikes a happy medium, not mad but certainly not quiet! It was a few yrs ago that we went though.

Hope this helps

It's a long time since I went to Alykes (runs into Alykanas), but I thought the beach was lovely - soft golden sand and warm, shallow sea. I guess it's probably a much busier beach though twenty years on.

Anyone have any suggestions for nice hotel in Tsivili? Within walking distance of beach and the town?

I have been to Tsilivi 3 times in 18 months and love the place infact going back in May for a week . Each time I have been I have stayed at the Plaza Pallas Hotel and loved every minute of it . I have never been to Alykanas so cant comment on there but Tsilivi as everything suits young and old ,plenty of restaurants to enjoy a good meal ,nice bars to relax in after and even some a bit rowdy if thats wat u like . The beach is lovely and you have easy access to Zante town on public transport where from there you can get buses all over the island .

we went to Kalamaki last year . Nearly all the hotels are close to the shop restraunts etc. The beach can be reached easily enough there is a bus that takes you right on to the beach every day. maybe you like to stay near the beach there are plenty of hotels there. What ever you decide i do hope you have a great time . My wife broke her foot the week before we went last year and she managed to get around o.k .

The Contessina is one of the better hotels in the resort although it all depends on how much you want to pay. We've previously stayed at The Alamis (next door to The Contessina) and really liked it although it does tend to get varying reviews.

Been to both Argassi and Tsilivi and of the two we much preferred Tsilivi. Plenty of bars and restaurants in both but we thought those in Tsilivi were better. The beach in Tsilivi, whilst not being great, is much better than that at Argassi.

Can also recommend the Hotel Contessina, just booked up to go back for 11 nights in Sept.

It ticks all the boxes for us, has a great location, very clean, great staff and great pool area. We paid £675 for the two of us for 11 nights BB from Glasgow. More than we paid last year but more than happy to pay a little extra to go back knowing its a great little hotel!

Going to Zante middle of June. Just wondering if there is a waterpark and what other excursions are on offer. We are staying in Tsilivi. Thanks.

yes there is a waterpark, thin it costs 18 euros to get in but cheaper after 2pm, ive not stayed in tsilivi but all resorts as far as i know have places where you can book trips, there are usually quite a few to pick from, just dont get thm from your rep as they are usually more expensive :)

we loved the waterpark last year and will be going again in july :sun2

A water park is being built in tsilivi, apparently finished this year. When u get to popyes resturant round about head left towards the chemist, its right up the top near the petrol station.

The other one is Zante Water Village, it is cheaper after 2pm, we got there at 2pm and stayed till 5pm and went on everthing, loads of places in Tsilivi offer trips there, depending where your hotel is there will be a pick up point near by, we had a motor bike for a few days so went found it ourselves.

this is the website http://www.zantewatervillage.gr/

As for trips:-
Shipwerck- Defo the place to go (again we got ourselves there)
Turtle Island- you get 2 see the blue caves (we saw 2 turtles)
Water Park (im sure they charge just to get in so no transport cost)
Different sea trips
Safari
Trips to villages in the hills
Kerrie Caves
Blue Caves

Try the travel place next to Theos car rental, nice ladies and very funny

I went last year for a week and cant wait to go back

oh and don't expect a decent beach in Argassi.... village is pleasant enough with plenty of themed bars and a choice of restaurants

Does any one know if there ia a place you can smoke at this hotel
Reply
i can only quote last year.... you can ask for a smoking room [or do as we do take a small ashtray and smoke on the balcony] the pool snack bar [also for drinks during the day] you could smoke at all the tables, the shocker last year was you could also smoke in the TV area of reception
