Hi all
I was just wondering what the prices are like in Zante compared to the UK (we're possibly going to Laganas early September)
Thanks,
Amy
Hi im going to the commodore apartments in argassi this year with my boyfriend. its my first holiday without my mum and the rest of the family. i would appreciate any advice and info about the accomodation and the resort, and maybe some info about good bars and restaurants, im only going for a week and would like to make the most of it. thank you.
Hi, was just wondering how much i should expect to pay for food and drink etc in argassi/ zante 2 of us are going at the beginning of september for a week and were not sure how much spending money we would need. any info would be good, thanks.
I generally find that if you're self catering in Greece £50 a day should do you but it obviously depends on how much or how little you want to do!
I went to Argassi with my girlfriend in September 2004 and we spent 500 euros (£350) each. We were self catering so this included all food and drinks. All our meals were taken out - i don't go on holiday to cook in my apartment! - and we also went on a couple of excursions. We didn't hire a car though.
If you require any further information about the resort just ask and I'll see what I can remember!
Steve
thanks, that gives us an idea of what we will need. is there any excursions you would recommend? been looking on the internet but can't really find info about excursions.
Hi Pammie, I did Zante quite happily for much less than £50 a day last septemeber, probably more like £30 and I ate well!. The best excursion by far is the 'Zakfari'. Its in a safari jeep around the island, goign around the most beautiful picturesque villages, to the land base for the 'shipwreck', to the tops of the mountains (highest point) and swimming out of a bay into the only natural collagen source in europe (makes you skin gorgeous). You get to see all of the island and learn some interesting facts about the place with very well educated guides. They also have a fantastic sense of humour and you meet some great people! Enjoy!
thanks bubblegirl, sounds good, looks like i will be givin that excursion a try!
I'd rate Zakfari as the best tour / day out on the island.
Pricey.. .. but worth it as you see parts of the island and views you wouldnt see unless you lived on the island.
They do have a web site zakfari.com but, its a bit hit and miss with the pages although the Tsilivi travel site has a good page with all the info including prices and how to book..
http://www.tsilivi-travel.gr/zakynthos.zante.zakfari.jeep.php
Scroll down to the bottom of the page for pick up times, suitabillity and booking info. There was another jeep safari on zante a while back but nowhere near as good and as entertaining as the Zakfari guys..

Pammie, you can do the day trip to Kefalonia whuch means a good bus ride up to the top of the island for the ferry, or you can get the early morning bus from Zante town bus station and go for a couple of days to Athens and all that has to offer.
would you recommend booking it whilst in zante or before?

Hi pammie...
Booking in advance really depends on when you want to do the trip.
If you had a full itinerary for your holiday and you wanted a specific day early in your holiday to do the Zakfari tour then advanced booking might be worth while as they do have fully booked days and can be busy. If you dont mind waiting a few days then book when you are there.
..
has any1 stayed in Bluebell hotel in Zante (laganas)? I'm staying there with mates in June ans was just wondering what it is like..
hi welcome i cannot find any info on this one with whome have you booked ( tour operator)
thanks all!
Hi pammie, we stayed on Zante last May and used Dionisos Tours/TEZ. If going to Athens, make sure that Costas is going to be your Guide/Courier, he is simply the best !!
Was just wondering if anyone could help me. I'm trying to book a holiday to Laganas at the end of June for 10 days/nights, but all the websites I've looked at so far only have the option of 7 or 14 nights.
Anyone booked to go to Zante for 10 days? Or is it not possible? 7 days isn't quite long enough but 2 weeks stretches my budget a bit too much
Thanks
Amy
I'm not aware of any tour operator doing holidays to Zante for 10 nights they all seem to be 7 or 14 as you say.
There are loads of holiday types to Zante.
I'll do a search after posting this but, i have seen 3/4 days long weekends, 10 days fortnights and 18 nights.
Thing is.. .. there's a catch.. .. being more expensive as your not doing the usual one or two week turnaround and the hotels tend to be the more expensive all inclusive deals. .. ..
Just popping off to find the bookmarks.. .
Nut.......
Its so hard to search for someone else. i'm wasting my time really.
Dilos do 10 days at the Astir and louis zante beach but, check out the holiday complaints section first.. ..
10 Days private villas.. .. ..
http://www.sunisle.co.uk/availableresults.asp?accommodation_cn=454
Otherwise its a call to Olympic holidays as the web searches are very limmited if you want something other than 7 or 14 nights.
I just cant remember or find the company who does all the short breaks and 10 day holidays.. ..
