Good hotel for 3 stars.
Food good - they boast "Chef Cook No.1 in Bulgaria".
I agree with most other reviewers, I just very rarely give full marks.
The out of town location is balanced by the nearness to the next village south which is very cheap.
The hotel is surrounded by a nature reserve with a lot of water in it(& the beach)so I was expecting to be severly bitten by mozzies, but I was not.
Some very minor negatives -
-The fixed meal time could be a bind - there are 2 sittings & you must stick to the same one.
-You have to go outside to reach the restaurant - a pain when it rains (& it did for us).
-The bath side was very high & could cause elderly people problems climbing in & out to shower or bath.
Therefore I recommend this hotel except for anyone with mobility problems, because of the bath.

We had 2 weeks here, the hotel was immaculate at all times, rooms had air con and maid every day, the food however was plentiful but not very exciting, but did cater for all tastes, the hotel is overlooking the forest and the beach so is peaceful but town is only a short walk or road train away.
The staff were amazing, very polite helpful and service was instant! The entertainment team were fantastic with the kids and did their best to get the grown ups to join in, various sports and put on a wonderful array of shows in the evening.
If I went again it would be for one week as we have seen most local places. The jeep safari tour is a must!!!

Fantastic hotel, very clean had a family room for four was a bit worried that we would all be on top of each other but it was great. We had bunk beds for kids two single beds for adults and also a double sofa bed.
Staff were very frienldy especially Milka in the resturant.
Food was excellent.
Could have been a bit more entertainment for older child 11. but other than that would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going to Bulgaria Albena

This is our second visit to Bulgaria last time was in 1992, and by have things changed!
The hotel was spotless, Maria our maid made sure of that.
The location of the hotel is about a 20 minute beach walk from the centre of Albena, but the local "train" was alway on time etc.
All the staff where excellent, good English speaking, and nothing was too much for them to sort. Big thanks to Milka in the restaurant.
I have given the entertainment 5, though personally I am not into holiday entertainment evening shows they where fun and did involve everyone that wanted to be apart of the fun.
There are only two things that perhaps need some improvement...
1, Make sure if you want the room longer on your departure day you book well in advance.
2, The entertainments team during the day always walk around asking you to join in the day time activities, and this can get a little tiresome if you just want to sit by the pool and relax.
But all in all a great hotel, and am hoping to go back very soon.

We arrived at Gergana Hotel. The location was fabulous, as situated on the beach.
The rooms were clean and had remote controlled air condition 24/7...A must!!
The staff and also the locals were absolutely charming. The hotel was spotless and they did work long hours..still smiling.
The entertainment was great for the kids, and they did put on their evening shows for the adults.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone..Bulgaria is definately a place to visit!

Hotel was lovely, have just got back 24/06/05.
Food was ok, different selections of foods, fish Chicken Pork rice, lovely salads, variety of desserts, fresh fruits.
Hotel was spotlesly clean, hotel on the beach, entertainment was good, animation team were fantastic and really friendly, fantastic with the kid.
Brilliant.

A spotlessly clean hotel, built on the beach, and almost surrounded by a forest. Some of the room decor & fittings a little tired, although eveything appeared to work, and it was comfortable enough.
Buffet style evening meals were excellent, cheapest house wines very nice, with an allocated table for the duration. Breakfasts average - but plenty of choice, so no need to go hungry or eat elsewhere.
Our three rooms were all located on the ground floor, and on the beach side, absolutely superb, well worth the modest upgrade charge. The gorgeous huge sandy beach was directly over the balcony railing! The Hotel is situated at one end of the resort, consequently there is hardly any vehicle or pedestrian noise. About 20 minutes stroll from Albena centre, however frequent 'noddy trains' run until late evening, from/to directly outside the Hotel.
The Hotel staff were all really friendly and helpful, as indeed were all the Bulgarians we encountered.
I cannot really comment on the entertainment, as we tended to wander into town after dinner, or sit in the bar chatting amongst ourselves - being an adult group of six. It appeared though that the children present were well catered for, with plenty to do.
I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel, or the resort of Albena. Both represent fantastic value for money.

I loved this Hotel. I found the food varied and exciting, and it even had ice sculptures.
The food was very good and well presented. Staff very polite.
The good entertainment was changed every night.
The pool was lovely and big, shared with adjacent hotel.
The loungers were free but mat and parasol were extra and very cheap.
The hotel is literally on the lovely beach. As a disabled person I found this very convenient.
Even though I have trouble walking I joined in the various activities during the day, eg. Boule, Aqua-Aerobics and Darts.
I will definitely return there!

The Hotel is one of the cleanest we have stayed in and the staff are very helpfull.The food is excellent the choice is fantastic.The Hotel is located at the end of the resort so its nice and quite in the evening but only a short Road Train ride away from the centre or a 15 minute walk were its lively.
you can easly stay at the hotel as the entertainments team are great.We have booked to go again this year.
