This is the 5th time we have been here and we would recommend it to any families especially if you have kids.
It is hard to fault the entertainment with the bluecoats working hard to keep the kids entertained with party dances and competitions. The cabaret is usually a singer or comedian and always family friendly.
The chalets can be a bit hit and miss and are certainly basic but are adequate as a base.
The food is excellent. It's a bit like a canteen, self service but is clean and you have an excellent choice of food. Evening meal started with soup and fresh rolls, then freshly made omelette with salad and a large selection of cold meats. Then there is a selection of 3 or 4 main courses. A nice choice of afters to finish the meal off. Breakfast was good as well. Great value for money.
The location won't suit everyone about a 5 minute bus ride to the pleasure beach ,a little longer to the tower. However the bus service from right outside the Pontins entrance is excellent. The aircraft noise can be a little bit annoying but you get used to it after the first day. The beauty of the site is that there is loads of open space for the kids to play in a safe environment.
Pontins Blackpool won't suit everyone but is good value for money for a family holiday on a budget.

Our first visit to Pontins - for a weekend break.

Overall we were reasonably impressed by the accommodation. Cleaner than we'd expected and reasonably quiet. The staff were all very helpful and the entertainment for children was fairly good.

On the negative side, the food was dreadful - the cooked breakfast was virtually inedible.

And our biggest complaint was that the venues for the children's evening entertainment were both smoking areas. A children's disco in a room where the air is thick with cigarette smoke is totally unacceptable!

Very surprised when we arrived and had to climb under car barrier with cases,as no one was on the gate to lift it.

Chalets had paint peeling off and in bad need of decoration, one of the chalets had to be changed 3 times due to damp, ants and flies.

Low flying aircrafts also a surprise as was never mentioned in brochure just how close the airport was, however still managed to have a great time due to the company I kept!.

Arrived here on an organised football tournament trip. The initial thoughts were a prisoner of war camp, the chalets all lined up, basic, in dire need of redecoration on the outside, but as the holiday was for the kids, we ploughed on. The first night we had lovely hot radiators and water, the second night - ho heating. Then no cold water at all, it was like being in a third world country, and when we complained. The staff were very unhelpful. The third and fourth days were also without cold water, which meant we could not flush our toilet. There were 30 of us in our party and two thirds were without water.

The cleaning was also below standard, we had sand on our carpet for the full four days of visiting, and I feel the cleaners only left clean towels and tucked our bed linen back in then left, and this was club accommodation - god forbid what the classic section was like.

The dining room was basic, food basic. However, the kids enjoyed themselves and so did we, but that was down to the company we kept and NOT the camp.

We would definitely not visit this camp again, either on a personal holiday or with sports tours.....very, very disappointed.

I have been to the site twice for a football tournament holiday and thought it was great.

The pool was good and the night life was very lively.

I am going again very soon and cant wait.

This Holiday Camp needs much improvement to chalets as they are in need of repair.

The restaurant was similar to a scene from the prison drama Bad Girls, with food slopped onto your plate.

Tacky entertainment that never run on time.

I will never visit again!

Having been allocated my chalet, I was appalled to enter to find that people had written offensive graffiti on the walls and furniture. There was also paint peeling off the walls and although the room had been cleaned, they had done the minimum cleaning possible. Having complained, I was offered an alternative room, which was just as bad, if not worse. The room was not serviced by cleaners on a daily basis, but only about three times a week. There were also empty make up cartons under the bed which had been there from a previous holidaymaker proving how unclean it was.

The food was very average, and you were limited to small helpings, but as everyone tended to eat at the same time, it took ages to get to the front of the queue and then you had to hunt round for a spare table.

The location wasn't brilliant. It is far from the amenities and took half an hour on foot to get to the main heart of Blackpool itself. It was also next to an airport, and near a train station, and the noise was deafening. The site itself is full of noisy slot machines and is riddled with wild rabbits, sand lizards, and a host of other animals.

The staff were nice but they worked long hours and by the end of the day, when they were tired, they did tend to get a bit snappy with customers. They also had a habit of trying to get people to join in with things they didn't want to do.

The entertainment is as you would expect from a holiday camp. Good, but not outstanding. The programme was a waste of time. They would say that the cabaret starts at one time, then start it 45 minutes late, probably to sell more drinks. They also charge about twice the going rate for drinks and snacks.

I would not visit the site again.
