On arrival it looked much liked we had expected very impressive from the front of house. Our first room was up on the very top up 3 flights of stairs along corridors and 2 floors of lift. It over looked a area between the main building and pool not very nice and stank of sewage. The room itself was small and I had 2 teenage kids with me expected to sleep on camp beds, complained and was moved the next day to another room by the pool overlooking the sea. The bed situation didnt change was not happy with this as I expected proper beds for a 14/15 year old the small fold up ones were not strong or big enough for them to sleep on.

The fire situation - when the fires started we had no contact with the rep everyone was calling her to update the situation as the fire by this time was about 1.5 miles away and we have pictures of the smoke and flames coming over the hill, the hotel made no annoucments to help settle the situation and resulted in mass panic the only communication was a notice posted on the board saying dont worry but no rep. This was not only alarming but very unprofessional to leave us all with no communication as it was very apparent that there was a potential problem that they at one point could not get under control.

I would also like to add that I chose my holiday based on the information on the screen and the pictures that were depicting the hotel and its facilities, this in fact was totally misleading as many of the pictures belonged to the sister hotel down the road eg. dining room, pool, hotel rooms, and beach area not the rodos village. Under the trades descriptions act this was a breach of advertising as we had booked expecting what we were shown which couldnt be any further from the truth. The pool needed remedial work on the grating as it was cracked and dangerous, the pool tiles itself was really dirty and needed a good clean and the sunbeds were not fit for purpose as many had been broken and bodged back to gether with nuts and bolts that were sticking out from the bed. I pointed this out to the pool manager who really was not interested and wandered off.

A big thumbs up for the animation team MIdo Ramsey and co excellent without this I think I would have gone a bit mad, The snack bar at the pool has excellent staff very efficient and Maria in the dining hall was a star looked after us really well as my son has a food allergy.

Overall dissapointed not what I had expected, but made the most of it as cant afford another till next year.

The Hotel was a health and safety nightmare. Photos of discussing conditions were sent to our holiday company to complain and to the rep at the hotel but nothing was done. The holiday company have been very patronising.

Hotel staff were rude and not interested. The food in the hotel was poor and their were long queues to enter the restaurant and again to access the grill.

We didn't have a proper shower for the whole holiday and several nights no water came out of the shower at all!

Our room was infested with flying red ants that were coming through holes in the bathroom floor.

Well, this was the best holiday i have ever been on. 23 of my family went to the hotel as my auntie was getting married at St.Pauls Bay in Lindos!

The hotel was very clean however the maids didnt change out bedding enough and we didnt get fresh clean towels each day but they said the washing machine had broken so i suppose its a good reason!

The staff were superb and very friendly and if you were waiting alone for someone they'd be more than happy to sit and talk to you while you waited.

The entertainment crew were hilarious and made the holiday such a treat, especially correcting them at there own dances. Their shows were really good and creative and were really clever!

The food was quite nice but i'm a very fussy eater and found some of the food was quite revolting but that was my opinion really!

The cocktails were very nice and the bar staff were really funny and enjoyed showing off while they were making it!!

Having read some of the negative comments about this hotel after booking (Telextext late deal)but before arriving, I thought "Oh no, what have we done?!" So on walking into a large and clean reception area I was pleasantly surprised. I was also surprised that the hotel staff arranged for our luggage to be sent on to our room, especially as we were only upstairs in the main block. The room was large and well decorated. We didn't have a sea view (but then we hadn't paid for one, so fair do's) and although we looked onto the interior of the complex I could not say it was an awful view. The whole room including the bathroom was clean and continued to be cleaned daily with frequent fresh linen. There was no problem with hot water and both the fridge and the hairdryer worked at all times.

The complex is large but a map was provided in the booklet the reception staff give you telling you about the facilities; this was a useful thing until we found out way round. All public area's were clean, no sign of rubbish (or smashed glass, as some have reported) and even the beach toilets were cleaned mis afternoon. There was no problem getting a sunbed at the top pool (didn't use the main one) or the beach, and of course these are free as part of the AI.

I am a fussy eater but could not complain about the food, there was always plenty to chose from and it was at the right temperature. Waiting stff were friendly and there was only one occasion when the outside dining area was too busy for us to get a table and we had to sit inside. The pizzeria is very nice, we had lunch and dinner there, and it is nice to be waited on. The all-inclusive drinks are not international brands but there is a good cocktail list and the lagar(Lowenbrau) and rose/white wine is all fine. No problems with queues even though the hotel was nearly full.

This is an ideal hotel if you want everything paid for before you go, and do not want lots of late night bars and clubs. I would go back again if it came up on a good deal.

Hotel kept very clean. Room with great pool/sea view. Food plentiful and loads of choice. Fresh pasta nightly, and meat from grill was good. Visited the Pizzeria twice and had fantastic meals.

A problem on the first week with lack of sunbeds (people reserving them with towels) so by 9am couldn't get a bed. It eased off as the week went on.

The entertainment staff were excellent - Willy, Adela, Gino etc helped make it a great holiday.

Only down side - our son got a ear infection and unable to fly so we had to stay on for 4 more days. Reception staff could be quite unhelpful and got mucked around a bit (moved to 2 different rooms and had to pay upfront for accommodation). Entertainment staff went out of their way to make sure we were OK after rest of the family went home.

We have stayed in this hotel twice and have to agree with the more positive reviews that it is a good-value all inclusive hotel. The staff are very friendly (with the exception of one or two haughty reception staff) and they are very helpful if you need anything like a doctor or prescription meds.

The food is good and plentiful, without the incessant burger, chips and chicken nuggets that some people seem to expect, which may account for some of the bad reviews. The rooms are clean and well furnished with a couple of english TV channels and poweful aircon.

Yes, there are steps and slopes between the different blocks but this has been made clear whenever I have seen the hotel on a booking site or brochure. There is a good kids club and the animation team always try to get everyone involved.

There are a couple of shops in the hotel but the shops over the road are much cheaper if you can be bothered to cross the bridge. The only hesitation that I have in recommending this hotel is the tendency to overbook.

It is quite common for arrival to be sent to another hotel for 1 or 2 nights and, in some cases, even longer. This happened on our second holiday here, the first time we went we booked with 'On the Beach' and were given our rooms straight away, althougn we met lots of people who had been sent to another hotel initially.

The second time we went we travelled with Sunstar and it happened to us. The receptionist blamed it on a German airline problem but we knew that it was a rubbish excuse. We would have protested but they sent us over the road to the Rodos Maris and we quite fancied trying it for a night, so we didn't argue too much! We were sent back on a mini bus next day.

Basically, I would say that its a good hotel for a family or group of people, don't expect to experience much greek culture unless you get out and see the rest of the island, and be careful who you book with - make sure they have their own allocation of rooms otherwise you could find yourself a few miles up the road for half your holiday.

The room was quite large and very clean. There was ample furniture and the towels and sheets were changed daily. There was a fridge in the room, which unfortunately switched off when you went out. We were not in the main hotel but had a sea view. The balcony did not have your usual plastic furniture and the cane chairs even had cushions.

The food was very well presented. There was ample choice and catered for any taste. There was always food on the grill and it did not matter whether you arrived at 7.30 or 9.45 there was always plenty to eat. As soon as a tray was empty another full one was brought in. You could sit out or in and the staff always welcomed you to your table with a smile. There were plenty staff on duty so tables were cleared and re-set with the minimum of fuss. On the downside the flies were a bit of a nuiscance. They would not go away and kept coming back. A few fly papers would not have gone amiss.

The hotel is on a steep slope so if you have walking difficulties or are elderly this is not for you. We knew before we left that in Kiotari there are only four all inclusive hotels and a few shops. The beach was across the road (you had to go over a bridge) The beach bar was great although the food could have been more inspiring (rolls, rolls rolls). Many of the sunbeds were broken but I guess this was nearing the end of the season. We never used the pools, although there were four to chose from.

The staff were friendly although we did not get to know many of them. The bar was not particularly well staffed but on an all inclusive holiday I think that is the norm. The longer you wait for your drink the less you manage to consume!!. One of the bar staff was great and just looked along the bar to us, With a nod of the head we were able to secure a drink when he was next free. Did not use the Rock Cafe much but it was always busy.

The entertainment was mediocre but hey everything else was great so who cares. Got on the bus to Lindos and Rhodes town. An experience never to be forgotten. Can you really get that many peoople on a bus. Still all part of the fun

Would go back to Rhodes and this hotel.

We thought the hotel was excellent. Went at busiest time of year so expect bit of queuing & towells on sun beds but as long as you don't go expecting the Savoy (which some people seem to given the reviews) you'll have a great time.

Can't fault cleanliness and staff.
Foods was great. We have 2 sons and they had loads to choose from and always had really good food. Also nice to get local food and not English food (if we'd wanted that we'd have gone to Blackpool!). Also worth visiting the Hotel Italian resturant which is also spot on. Didn't sample the "all inclusive" pool food much as always too full from indulging at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Location was just as expected. We knew from broucher that was "man made" type resort full of hotels so you do need to accept that you'll spend most of tiome in hotel (though hiring a car is worth it cos Rhodes is great island to explore). Aso can get bus to Lindos from outside hotel. Its nice not to have any English bars and lager louts - if you want that this isn't for you!

Entertainment not best we've come across but fairly typical. If go open minded and dont expect west end you'll be ok.

In summary, we'd go back to Rhodes and this hotel, we love Greece!

I travelled to Rodos Village on 5th July with my parents and two friends for my 18th birthday. We had another two friends who went out the week before for two weeks so we were lucky as they were able to show us around. Otherwise it would take you a week to work out where everything is as it is a big complex.

We went to a sister hotel of Rodos Village last year a Mitsis hotel in Kos and thought that we would be on the safe side going to another Mitsis this year, and from hindsight it was an absolutely fantastic holiday. However first impressions were something different. I thought to myself i don't want to spend my 18th here as the hotel is very hickeldy pickledy. The Ampitheatre is at the top of a mountain, the beach is over the bridge and at the bottom of a mountain but you soon get used to it. We were lucky that we requested a room in the actual hotel.

We didn't spend much time on the beach but if you do i'm sure you'll have fun as Animator Lorenzo was down there most of the time! We instead spent most of our time by the pool being entertained by animator Roman and Anya who were great. If you want to spend your time by the pool you have to be down there at 7.15am to get a sunbed.

The rooms were very nice. We were over the kitchen so from our balcony the view was of the kitchen roof and the room opposite.

The food was in my opinion the hotels downfall but everyone has different opinions and the majority of the party in which i travelled liked the food.

The hotel staff we the nicest people ever! The lady there to greet you on arrival to the restaurant should be one of the entertainers as she was so funny. The waiters and bar staff too were incredibly nice.

The entertainment team were the hotels best quality and made my birthday that much more enjoyable. I had 'happy birthday' sung to me about 10 times and all the men in the hotel had to line up and kiss me on the animation teams orders. Just thought i'd warn you if you are going out there for a birthday! The activities consist of darts, water polo, coffee quiz, crazy game and cocktail game (changes every day) and aqua gym by the pool and other games such as volleyball on the beach. If you lose you have to do the infamous wishy washi dance! The nightime entertainment was great and one show was of a very high standard (surprising for an all inclusive hotel!) There were 11 animators in total and them just like all of the staff worked extremely hard!

I would definitely want to go back there again and would recommend this hotel to everyone except those who hate hills!
