candalim is central to everything so is a convenient placde to stay it is much quieter than calangute or baga but is still lively.the beaches are nice but the hawkers can be a nuisance, whilst staying in goa you should try some of the local bars where the locals eat the naik bar in nerul serves excellent food at a fraction of the cost of the restaurants on the tourist strip we will be back next year for 2 weeks before christmas and again for 2 weeks after

Candolim is a fabulous resort. We visited club 21 shack on the beach every day. The boys are friendly and helpful and always remember your name. The resort has lots of restaurants and bars, our favorite was Sea Shell restaurant on the main road near The beach road. The service here is the best ever, and the food is delicious.
The resort itself is much cleaner now than when we came before. A really pleasant resort.

Goa is going down hll, the beaches were dirty, everyone is trying to rip you off. it says it all when tourism there is 40% down. this was our third time to goa and it will be the last. If they want to keep tourists then they need to start doing things big time to improve.

I would like to recommend VJ's beach shack as a relaxing place to hang out. There was no pressure to drink loads of beer and eat loads of food! They cooked things that were off menu to suit my taste. VJ and his family run a great business and clearly reflect the Goan hospitality.

Stringfellas and Sea Wave beach shacks on Candolim beach really put a lot of pressure on you to drink loads of booze and eat a full meal. I don't drink alcohol and don't eat a big lunch (especially in hot weather!). Ordering juices, water and salads weren't enough to use their sun beds and we were told to leave. They defeated the purpose of coming to Candolim beach to chill out.

The area in general was cleaner than many places I have visited in India. There are numerous shops, stalls and a large supermarket very close to the hotel. Taxis, Tuk-tuks and hire bikes are readily available and very cheap.
The beach is a few minutes walk away and consists of miles of golden sands and numerous beach shacks providing sunbeds, food and drinks all day and into the night.
There are lifeguards all along the beaches, the currents can get quite strong so it pays to follow their directions.
I will certainly visit Goa again, but next time I will stay in the south where it is less developed and tourist oriented.

Candolim has changed and the wide variety of tourists are not considered. Entertainment, food, etc are all the same. Generally locals are only interested in getting hold of your money. The rest of India is not as extreme as this and you feel more comfortable without being constantly harrassed.

Enjoyed Candolim but I remain addicted to Calangute-Baga area. Found some good eateries, the Carvery and Green Jacket are worth a repeat visit.

The monsoon had washed most of the beach away and was shored up by ricketty ladders which any eldely person would not have been able to manage. It was not safe for children. In my opinion.

There were plenty of eating places within walking distance. The standard of cleanliness was not bad shop keepers cleaned the dust and watered it x 2 daily!

As regular visitors to Candolim over the last 15 years, there have been many changes, some good, some not so good, however it is still a wonderful place for a holiday and we have no hesitation in returning.
Sinquerim is in the main much quieter than Candolim although there are still many shops and nice restaurants, a 10 minute walk will take you to the main centre with many shops, bars and restaurants, or 5 minutes in the other direction you reach Fort Aguada. The beach at Sinquerim has been badly affected by the River Princess, however there are still plenty of shacks to choose from, we particularly liked the Calamari shack, lovely sunbeds and excellent value menu to choose from.
