very clean, spacious, freindly,ok no a/c but whos got that at home?
food was good, staff( all of them } polite as you normally find abroad, rooms big enough, your here for the sun not to sit in a room all day.
only gave it a 3 on entertainment because we never stayed for that, but people we saw there seemed to like it. probberly the only thing I would grumble about were the prices of drinks

Reading some of the reviews below its hard to believe they are discussing the same hotel. I work away from home and stay in hotels 4 days a week and don't remember staying in a hotel that took such obvious pride in its cleanliness. One night we returned to the room, someone had poured a drink into a pot plant. After notifying the front desk 3 cleaners were up to tidy up/remove pot plant and replace with another in the space of 2 mins. Linen changed and room cleaned everyday.

For a family of 4 the room was small/adequate. Now other people have written that you don't spend much time in the room, but occasionally its good to take a break from the heat and have a siesta. The bunk bed was an antique metal contraption with dodgy ladder. Its squeaked loudly egverytime one of the children rolled over, and the mattresses were not a decent standard. Someone should tell them about ikea.

All 4 pools were exceptionally clean and spacious.
The route down to the beach could be taken through the hotel (cuts out most of the climbing) or down a side path which always seemed steeper at the end of the day.

Volleyball, tennis, football tennis and water polo organised for you for those feeling active. Games were competitive without resulting in broken bones, but a few skint knees and staved fingers.
Lots for children to do, and Kids clubs for over 3s. We went just before the start of the English holidays and the lids clubs hadn't really got busy enough for them to work properly, but the staff acted professionally and our daughter loved them.

Creche for under 5s pay as you go. Well worth it and Petra looks after the wee ones without them running all over her.

We're vegetarian and graded the food as average for veggies. I suspect meat eaters would have had no problems with the food.

The Hotel Aguamarina made our family holiday one of the best. I went with two children (10 & 13) along with 2 Grandparents over 60. The Hotel itself was very clean and staff were great. The Maid service was good and there were always plenty of clean towels and bed linen. The rooms were a bit on the small side for 4 in a room but not a big problem. Food was nicely presented and there was always plenty to choose from. My son is a fussy eater but with the buffet style dining he was able to try many different things that he wouldn't do at home. The entertainment (both Adult and Kids) day and night was good along with the entertainment staff. The Swimming Pools and Hotel grounds were excellent aswell as a beautiful beach. All facilities were perfect for those with pushchairs, and for anyone with walking difficulties. We would definately go back.

We travelled to the Aguamarina with our 14 year old son and his friend of the same age in July 2004. I was a bit wary having read previous reports but I could not fault the hotel. It was spotless, the staff were very friendly especially Fernando the barman who will get you with his waterpistol if you are not careful!!
The hotel entertainments team managed to keep the two 14 year olds in out party and several others well entertained for the whole fortnight. Special thumbs up to Warren and Victor!
Both the 14 year olds in our party can be pretty fussy about what they eat but we even managed to get them to try mussels and paella etc and surprisingly enough they both liked them.
I can honestly say that at no time did any of us not find something that we liked on the buffet. Also I never found that we had to queue for unacceptable amounts of time. Only ever a couple of minutes.
On the whole we found the hotel very good and had a lovely chill - out fortnight in the sun - Just what we needed. We hired a car which was pretty cheap (90euros for 3 days) and had a few jaunts to other parts of the island sightseeing. But it ended up to be a bit of a waste of money as the two kids didn't want to go anywhere as all their friends and fun were at the hotel!!
We did not have to pay any eco charge for beach cleaning.
The drinks in the hotel were expensive but come on take me to a hotel where they aren't!

First impressions, was what have i let us in for as the Hotel looked rather shabby from the outside how wrong could i be. I can honestly say this was a well run friendly Hotel which needs praise for the service it provides.
Cleanliness you could not fault. Food well it wasn't brilliant.
The rooms were small and very hot and we were glad we took our small desk fan with us to keep cool as no air-conditioning in rooms.
Drinks were dear in Hotel but i have found this with most Hotels abroad. I would go back again!

The best way of describing this hotel is 'Butlins in the sun' except Butlins is better.
If you go to this hotel you must go bed and breakfast only as the food is dreadful eg.The fresh fruit was tinned fruit cocktail and the hot food was often re-heated from the night before. We went half board and after 2 nights couldn't take the food any longer & ate out every night. We tried several different bars in the village & the food & service were excellent every time.
You must also make sure you have a sea view(which you can't get with First Choice whatever they tell you) as you will need the sea breeze to be able to sleep, plus the view is fantastic.
The entertainment might have been ok if they hadn't done everything 1 sentence at a time in 3 different languages(i kid you not) which made it impossible to follow. Even my 11 year old daughter said she would rather just go & play cards in the other bar as the entertainment was that bad.
Arenal D'en Castelle is one of the prettiest bays i have seen anywhere in the world & i would recommend it to anyone but not the Hotel Aguamarina. If you choose to go to Arenal for your holiday i urge you to book self catering & anywhere but the Aguamarina(It is that BAD).

When we arrived we were very inpressed on how clean the hotel looked. The only thing that disappointed us was that we asked for ground floor and was put on the seventh floor (you could'nt get any higher), which was quite scary when you have a two year old. The food was very nice, but the restaurant was a large canteen and gets very busy, but what do you expect with a hotel that size. The beach was gorgeous and right on your door stop, not good for the elderly or people with walking difficulites as you have to walk down quite a few steps. The entertainment could be improved on. Overall a very good holiday.

When arriving at the hotel we were very pleased with everything, the hotel was clean and the food was excellent. we were close to all amenities and the location was good.
The staff were polite and friendly. Entertainment was provided every evening and it was enjoyable.
The only problem we found with the staff wasn't detected until we arrived home to find our suitcase had been tampered with whilst we went out for our last breakfast on the morning of departure, when we unpacked our suitcase on retuning home my wife found she had two new t-shirts missing also i had several pairs of unworn white socks missing. We noticed on the last morning that the cleaner on floor 7 was hovering around the room unto our knowledge she must have entered and taken the clothes, we thought the case wasn't how we left and checked all the expensive were still there so didn't think anything else of it.
SO BEWARE!!!!!!!
Apart from that incident everything was great.

our weeklong stay at the Aquamarine Hotel, Menorca. Rooms are a bit small, every thing very clean, inside and in the grounds of hotel.

Dining room large and airy, tables a little crammed in,food well presented and o.k.something for every one. Tables are cleared so quickly, spoons taken whilst pausing for breath when eating soup.

Drink and snacks very expensive in hotel.

Beach lovely, a walk down steps or there are alternative ways down there, via the roadway. Great snack bar on beach.

Try out the Irish Bar near by. and the English bar in the square, made very Welcome every where we went on island.

Would go again, but might try another resort.
