Cala Galdana is a beautiful resort and in my opinion has the best beach on the island. It isnt a big resort and so doesnt have lots of things to do, especially if the weather isnt too good. We spent quite a few days on the beach which is lovely and clean and snorkelling is a must.
The main square is nice with entertainment most nights and little shops to explore.
All in all, we had a fantastic time and are considering returning next year.

The resort itself is very pretty and very quiet. Unfortunately alot of bars etc were still closed. We went over to the Audax Hotel in the evening for the entertainment which was good, and staff very friendly. The beach I'm sure is beautiful in summer, but it wasnt the picture postcard in the brochures as it was full of seaweed which was apparently due to be cleared for the season.

Very clean and no rubbish. The beach was also very clean with a lovely scene. Feel a little bit claustrophobic when it's crowded probably because of the shape of the beach (horseshoes shape). Personally I prefer the beach in Son Bou. There are shops, supermerkats and restaurants. Need to hire a car to explore the island or you may get a bit bored if you stay in the same resort for a week or more!

One word - quiet! If the weather is bad, there is nothing to do. The only things near to the hotel are restaurants, gift shops and a couple of little cafe bars. The beach was nice but had a lot of leaves and 'stuff' that was washed up (which they don't want removing) which made some parts look dirty. The cost of hiring 2 loungers and an umbrella was ridiculous (19 euros). There are a couple of beach bars that were quite nice though. Whatever you do, do not go in the restaurant right next door to the Hotel audax...we went there for my birthday and it had no atmosphere, took a long time to get served and the food was horrid. People in the area were generally very friendly and most could speak english.

It's a very relaxing place but for the younger genration, too quiet and not a lot to see. Apparently, Ciutadella has some late bars but is quite far away from Cala Galdana. We were told that there is only a couple of buses a day that go into Mahon or Ciutadella and the return buses back were about an hour after dropping you off. Definitely need to hire a car to get around.

The seaweed was cleaned up in the second week of our stay - we were eating at the Mirador watching the digger clean it all up in the evening! The beach itself is truly lovely and the views are breath-taking, as are the prices for 2 sunbeds and parasol (€19). We only did that once! The water is very shallow and safe for little ones.

It is most definately a young family resort, older children and young couples would get bored here very quickly. Entertainment centres around the hotels and the Square and consists of mini-discos and/or singers of various types. The little ones love it and dance or race round the square while the parents sit and relax, not a drunk or fight in sight (all holiday!).

The evenings were still rather chilly during our stay, fleeces were required most nights.

For the cloudier days there are limited options, Tobogan - the restaurant by the red tap or "The pirate ship" as my daughter called it due to the mast above the roof of the bar, has mini golf and a good play area. There is also a "Noddy train" to take you round the resort but that is about it. The Anabel had some pool tables and table football to help occupy bored families but nowhere near enough!

All in all a wonderful quiet place for a peaceful holiday with a young family, we all loved it but if the weather is bad, hire a car.

Lovely clean beach. Fairly quiet, but we were early in the season, think it could become very crowded at peak times. The cafes and restaurants are obviously geared up for a lot more people. Lots of people with young children as it is a perfect destination with shallow water and a real child friendly atmosphere.
All of the restaurants we tried were very good, but a special mention must be made regarding la lluna. It really is something special, especially the strawberries with pepper and vanilla ice cream. The la lluna bar situated below the restaurant also deserves a special mention for the friendly service from the couple who run it.
Definitely NOT our last visit.

Perfect resort for families. I had it recomended to me & I couldn't rate it higher.

Great bars & cafes. The best for food were Bar Alaska & Maison Merciano.

Definately the best resort over all I have ever been to & we will go back.

Outstanding beach...very clean. Longers and Parasols too expensive...bring your own.Entertainment at night based around the square or the main hotels..tribute bands predominantly but they were really good. Go to the square at night for the free childrens disco/singalong the little ones love it and the lovely shops. Local restaurants are generally good, friendly nand clean and they will remember you if you come back. A quiet resort ideal for those looking for peace and relaxation. Not a yob, drunk person or fight in sight. This is the most beautiful place in Menorca...and we've explored it all. Do hire a car though because it easy to drive here and the leather outlets are great value

Gala Gardena was beautiful, beach was great but the resort is really small and I would have thought best suited to families with younger children who are happy just playing round the pool or the beach, older ones would probably get bored.
