Just back from a superb 1 week break All Inclusive.
Got to say that this was our best AI EVER!!!.

You help yourself to Lager and vino and the soft drinks are a welcome rest for my liver.

Food was great every night, but I much preferred the lunch time snacks.

The hotel is pristine, even if the rooms seem a little circa Benidorm '88.

The resort, whilst not up to Benidorm/Magaluf/Playa de las Americas does the job well of keeping you entertained if you venture out of the hotel.

Whilst there we booked up for 12th of December this year and I urge my fellow Brits to invade this delightful hotel with me (I think it was Brits 30% - Rest of the World 70% approx at this hotel)

Superb, we loved it.

Hope to see some of you in December for a little winter sun.

Would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone.

On arrival there was a porter to help with luggage. On registering, luggage was taken to hotel rooms. Safety deposit boxes were issued to each room free of charge.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic choice of food and food cooked in front of you.
Entertainment staff worked exceedingly hard and maintenance staff equally so as pool area was always being cleaned at the end of the day and also the beginning of a new day.

First time we have stayed in RIU Hotel and also All Inclusive but would have no hesitation in doing so again.

Just back from a nightmare two weeks at this Hotel and won't ever return. I know many have had good trips there, but ours was horrendous.

Arrived at 6 am and received absolutely no help whatsoever with our luggage (we were in Block E, furthest from reception) and had no idea where we were going. Eventually found the room after struggling with our luggage.

Hotel was full of the most obnoxious, ignorant bunch of German and Dutch tourists I have ever had the displeasure to come across. Several incidents occurred, the worst of which was one burly German elbowing my daughter in the back of the head in the pool whilst behaving like an idiot. Not only did he completely ignore her as she screamed in pain, he then told me to "**** off" with a very rude arm sign and his mates began to intimidate us. We complained to Reception who merely said that we should report incidents, no attempt made to investigate it. No poolside supervision, which for a Hotel of over 500 rooms is ridiculous and leads to these louts believing they can do what they like.

Food was good though variety not especially great. The beefsteak, which was on virtually every night, is a bit on the tough side. Felt that there should not have been self-service beer pumps as they were clearly being abused by those much younger than 16! The staff on the whole were friendly, though again I was disappointed at their attitude regarding the large German populatin at the hotel who seemed to do what they liked. Facilities-wise, the TV in the rooms only had two English-speaking channels, Eurosport and CNN which is nowhere near as good as the BBC Worldservice. Of course, there were loads of German channels! Small section containing a couple of badly-rolling pool tables, table-tennis, and the two tennis-courts could do with being painted and the fencing fixed. There was litter lying around which was disappointing.

The Entertainment team did well, though again the heavy German leaning wasn't pleasant at all. Sometimes it was easy to notice the favour they received. Could have done with more variety, like impersonators (eg Tina Turner singer, or perhaps a drag show or something like that) instead of what was on offer.

Couldn't argue too much with the location, but the downside was Block E backs onto a very busy dual carriagway which gets quite noisey most of the day and a good portion of the night as well. Near to the large shopping areas, but a good 20-minute walk from the beach (though a 3 Euro taxi ride isn't so bad). Rooms were quite small, especially if you have three in the room (or more as I noticed!) and the bathrooms are showing signs of wear and tear, especially around the bath.

If you don't mind the arrogance and attitude of the heavy German presence, then go here. I'm not saying all German and Dutch are that way, indeed one or two showed concern when we told of the incident in the pool.

We arrived home yesterday 3rd July 2006 after a 14 night all inclusive holiday at this hotel.

The food was fantastic a separate salad bar, and the other section was fresh meat and fish being cooked in front of you, a good range of pasta dishes too!

The hotel is very clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downfall which i found was that the hotel is 3 separate circular tower blocks and unfortunately we did find it noisey. You had inconsiderate people coming in early hours and they were shouting, also people for some reason cannot shut a door properly they have to slam them!

I would go back again but I would like to try the Riu chain at a 4 standard level. You can tell this is a 3 star with the accomodation, the bathroom needed refurbishment and the room in general not very big.

There are plenty of sun beds but do the German Rule get down early and put your towels there!

We arrived back from our holiday last night and all in all had a great time the hotel was lovley and clean and the staff very friendly.

The food was terrible unless you like fish! Hake was always on the menu and I have had to send a letter of complaint in to Thomas Cook about this we had to spend all our spending money on food out and this ruined our holiday the entertainment was terrible so although the all inclusive drinks were great with the self service part of it to making no ques we spent alot of money on drinks out because the entertainment was terrible great location great beach just very very bad food!

We have just returned from our holiday to Gran canaria and very much enjoyed it. The hotel was brilliant and couldn't fault anything about it.

There are plenty of sun bed and lots of activites to take part in.

The weather was lovely and hot and some days a bit to hot for us.

The only thing I will say is that your afraid of heights it properly best you don't have the top floor being 8 it was very high up, which didn't bother us but there are people out there.

Very recommended and would love to go back soon!

Went to this hotel for New Year. The meal on New Years Eve great. The food is quite varied. Throughout the day there is always something to eat. Drinks are great you can serve yourself, never a queue at the bar. My daughter loved getting hot chocolate with cream.

Rooms were cleaned every day.

Pool was heated and you could always get a bed. It was cleaned every night.

Entertainment not very good at night, probably due to different nationalities there, hard to cater for everyones taste, during the day was ok. Kids club catered mainly for German children. They do bingo every day but in 4 languages gets a bit boring (and you win a t-shirt).

Location very good, approx 10 minutes walk to the beach, very near to all shops, bars and restaurants.

Would definitely go back to this hotel, probably not in the summer though, no air conditioning only ceiling fan.

14 of us have just got back yesterday from the Riu Waikiki. The ages were mixed a 4 year old, teenagers twentys, thirtys, fortys, and fiftys and we all loved it.

The food was fantastic. It was varied usually fish, pork and chicken or beef, always pasta, salads and a good choice of vegetables. There was always three different icecreams and lots of different little cakes, fresh fruit mangos, bananas, apples melons etc. Breakfast again was very varied, I have never seen so many types of bread. Cereals, cold meats, yogurt and fruit and english breakfasts.

The all inclusive drinks were great. You could help yourself to beer, water, wine, hot and soft drinks. There was even cream on the bar to top your cappachino. The bar served coctails and other alcoholic drinks and there was rarely a queue.

The bar also served snacks - continental breakfst then hotdogs, burgers and pizzas then cakes in the afternoon. The rooms were spotless as was everywhere. The manager rang twice during our weeks stay to check if everything was ok.

The mini club was great as was the childrens activity person she obviously loved the children. The evening entertainment was the only let down really it was very euroesque and poor standard. There was internet access two euro for half an hour. There was a little shop and a hairdressers.

The sunloungers with cushions were plentiful even for 14 together. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was in an excellent location close to the Kasbah and other shopping centres and about 10 mins from the beach. We have been to all inclusive lots of times and this was one of the best.

A group of ten adults went on this holiday and it was fab.

The food beer wine coffee all excellent.

Rooms are all the same whichever hotel you choose, twin beds wardrobe bathroom etc.

Entertainment was a bit dodgy but we always went out around 11.30pm to other pubs.

The help yourself to beer, wine, coffee, tea etc was fab no queues!

The hotel was full of Germans but they didn't bother us at all.

Had a fab time weather was very cloudy though, but would definitely go back.

The Yumbo centre at night is a real eye opener, broad minded people only!!!

Had a fantastic time, Hotel staff couldn't do enough to ensure you have a great stay. Plenty of food choice (my husband is a non-fish eating vegetarian & still had plenty of choice)

Taxi's are plentiful but you can walk to the beach in 15 mins, and get the hotel free bus back

pool area has plenty of sunbeds, in full sun & shade & it kept very tidy.

Rooms are cleaned daily
