Spent 2 weeks in Galeon Playa with wife and 3 yr old son in May 2004.

Room was in new block E9, was near kids play area and not too noisy during day or night but other rooms in old block nearer main pool were noisy during day and night. Room was good size for 3 and cleaned daily but was very basic and some furniture, linen and towels were well past their best.

Both pools were freezing during May and you really couldn't spend any time in either of them.

The hotel is near to two beaches which were both nice but very quiet due to the weather we had. It was cloudy most days and due to the constant wind it was pretty cold when the sun wasn't shining.

The resort of Costa Teguise is looking a bit shabby (there are a few derelict buildings) and there is not a great deal of choice in respect of restauraunts or shops. The resort is also very spread out and has no real centre. I'm not a snob but expected alot more fron the resort in view of the brochure description.

The hotel staff and Thomson reps were very good and the kids clubs excellent but the nightime entertainment was very lame.

have just returned to the Uk after spending a week at the Galeon Playa apartments. On the whole we had a really great week, very relaxing. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpfull,no problem would be too large for them to sort out, although we had no cause to complain. We didnt actually attend any of the entertainments laid on by the apartments, but heard from those that did that they were above average. The half board restaurant, downstairs, was a little disappointing. The breakfast was very good but the evening meals were very"bland".....give the evening meal a miss, there are plenty of good restaurants within a 5 minute walk!!We had a one bedroomed apartment that was very spacious, clean and only really had the one complaint......the T.V was costing us 1 euro an hour....why?The hotel staff and the Thomson reps were a really friendly bunch.

Although my family and I had a brill holiday, we were disappointed that there was no Super Family Entertainment going on. We had been to this hotel in 2001 so we expected the same this time. We were very disappointed with the evening entertainment, although you had to laugh at how rubbish it was!

The Galeon Playa had their own entertainments manager who was called Josh. He worked very hard trying to get everyone joining in with tihngs during the day.

We stayed in room 160 and in our opinion it is one of the best rooms to stay in. Our apartment was big and bright and very clean. It was opposite the childrens play area and kids club. There are also 2 pools there which are quite quiet to use.

The rooms were cleaned every day expect Wednesday. We found the staff really friendly.
The location is perfect for the beach although it was a bit of a walk to the main beach, which is bigger.
My children had a fantastic time, making lots of friends and can't wait to go back yet again (for the 3rd time) so it can't be that bad!!!

We were placed on the ground floor next to the pool, which was really handy.

I must say the hotel staff and Thomson Reps worked their socks off, and the childrens entertainers were fantastic.
We made tons of mates and have stayed in touch with most of them.

The beach is fabulous and we went snorkelling and fishing every day.

The water park is just round the corner-about 5mins in a taxi, cheaper than the trip organised by Thompsons.

We had our 5" o clock club ie happy hour in one of the bars on the front of which there are loads, nice quality, clean loos, and chips with everything but if you have kids it's essential. Loads of nice places to eat.

My 16 year old met loads his own age and it is a safer resort than say Puerto del Carmen where there are drugs and guns apparently.

My 12 year old buddied up with a posse his own age and had the time of his life.

The hotel and resort is safe and clean. We are going back this Xmas to the same place

The hotel was mint and i am just 13,me and my family enjoyed all of the hotel there was no smelly towels or bed sheets.the pool was spotless and amazing.

Local entertainment was exellent out side and in side the hotel. The Ancors Arms Irish bar was brill for a good full Irish breakfast.

We are going back again this year so all the bad comments do no seen fair to me.

All my family loved the hotel and pools and the local beachs were spotless. It should be a five star hotel.

loved the hotel
amazing

This was our second stay at the Galeon Playa, with another family. Very impressed that the head waiter, Andreas remembered us from our previous visit,(2 years before!) and was extremely pleasant with the kids, trying to teach them a couple of new spanish words daily!

We were fortunate enough to be in block 9 the first visit, and so requested the same block for our second. This is in the new block, next to the kids play area.
Fantastic views from the apartment entrances overlooking the bay.

feel that the entertainment lacked at the hotel, as only 3 nights a week - but we spent most nights out in the resort bars anyway, or wandering around the massive choice of shops.

Half board restaurant good, buffet style with seperate kids section. On our second holiday to the hotel, there was a new addition of a grill chef out in the restaurant, and also omelettes made fresh while you wait at breakfast.

The only thing stoppoing us from visiting a 3rd time is that i now have 3 chikdren, the youngest now over the age of 2, therefore we have to pay 3 adult prices. There are no 2 bedroomed apartments that acommpdate half board, therefore we have to go self catering and pay all the suppliments. I will not pay this out of principal, as would add another

ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL! We arrived at the resort only to be told that there wasn't a room for us....apparently the whole island was over booked. Eventually we were showed a ghastly little room with camp beds next to the entertainment(?) bar - which I refused. Then we were shown a slightly better room which had a floor so dirty we had to wear shoes all the time and nice collection of dead/alive beetles in the fridge. We stayed there for 1 night before being moved again. The place was dirty the rep surly and the majority of the sun beds were broken - towelling rife, one day I had to sit on my balcony because all the beds had been "reserved" (for hours), and the swimming pool looked like someone had thrown up in it - all this for

It was great, went with my Mum, Dad, Sister, Auntie, Uncle and my 2 cousins. It was fab hotel, food was good had plenty of chocie. Location was great sometimes busy but very nice, plenty of places to eat and buy prezzies.

I would go back again but pick a different time of the year because it was a bit cooler.

If you go you will have a fab one.

When we went there was an entertainer called Charmane and she was fab.

We went with our two small children and parents. The evening entertainment was below average, and the room it was in was very small and cramped. Drinks were very expensive.

My children wouldn't go near the kids clubs, and the kids that were in them looked like were not there out of choice, as one of the staff in particular was not good with children.

The apartments were clean on our side of the resort which was the new side, but the other side was smelly and scruffy, and lots of people that were staying in them were complaining daily.
