Hotel location is not great unless you want to stay there all the time.

Approx 15 mins walk to beach and any decent bars. Hotel is very impressive and the staff are friendly.

The food is of a very poor standard. Breakfast can be described as o.k. the evening meals were dire, so much so that we decided to eat out on a number of occasions, but if you like fatty meat and sloppy salads this could be the restaurant for you.

This is no 5 star. It is dated and needs a refurb. The food is barely 3 star although the punters ate like it was the last meal on earth. THe best was the freshly cooked meat and fish. The vegatables were poor. The hotel entertainment is very average. the main bar reminded me of God's waiting room. The hotel pool is good but you will play "who can get up the earliest to grab the sunbeds" game.

Definitely one for the older visitor. The hotel is not well located being a good 10 minute walk to the beach. On the way back this will take 15 minutes as the hotel is on a steep hill. The closest bars and restaurants are poor. The best local restaurants,Shops, Bars and Beach are near the Bahia Del Duque.

Warning There are two building sites in front of the hotel in March 2006 with 9 large cranes on site. They did not disturb us.

Overall: This aint not 5 star. The facilities are there but the quality is lacking. I won't go back, life is too short.

Lovely hotel with excellent pools & facilities.

Food quality was definitely not 5 star but you get what you pay for and at the room rates charged we felt that we had good value for money overall - would definitely stay here again.

The hotel front is very impressive along with lobby / reception area. Pool area is large & clean and the hotel does appear at first to warrant a five star rating.

That is however until you eat in the restaraunt for the first time. Food is nothing more than only adequate breakfast & evening times, though the bar food & drinks were ok, pricey, but if your going to moan about the price you sould not be booking a five star in the first place.

It does have a great location, the Del Duque Beach is a short walk out of the front & down the hill where you can have a glance at a real five star hotel the Bahia Del Duque. Plenty of shops around and although the nightlife is low key in this area, if you like it busier than this go and stay in Las Americas.

Finally the entertainment, what entertainment!!!! It's much better at Butlins believe me.
Overall the hotel and the accomodation are of first class, the food, the entertainment & there is only the one bar in reception area to really have a drink let it down badly.

The wife and I would almost definately still visit the hotel again though due to the excellent quality of the rooms, the hotel and the location. As for the food and amenities book no more than a B&B basis and still have your breakfast out!!!

If you like to dine out at night and to just chill out during the day then this hotel is definately for you.

My self and my wife Linda stayed at the Gran hotel Costa Adeje for Xmas 2004.

What a lovely hotel, friendly staff, lovely rooms, nice pool areas, would recommend 100% plus!! The only small problem is that a little way from the beach. Still the walk will do you good.

We are going back again this year and would say this is one of the best hotels in Tenerife, don't just think about it!!!!!!!! and enjoy it xx

On a final note we saved a fortune by booking our own flights and hotel.

Stayed for my 30th birthday without the kids and found the hotel to be a very imposing sight on arrival, as you would expect for a 5 star property.

On arrival I was wished Happy Birthday by the receptionist, who informed me that they had upgraded our room FOC. Like everyone I like things that are free. On entering the room we found that it was a large, luxurious room with a fantastic sea view and a complimentary bottle of Champagne on ice with another note telling us to "enjoy our stay".

The hotel is immaculately clean and the maid was always willing to come back later, after we'd had our lie in!!

The fact that we were only B & B was a blessing. We found that the breakfast was very poor and only bothered getting up once as it was not worth being bustlad about the restaurant for a piece of ham and cheese and boiled bacon!!

The hotel is quite cheap for a 5 star hotel and the staff could be a bit more attentive. (regularly stood at the bar for 5 to 10 mins while the staff had a chat in spanish without even acknowledging your presence)

Overall our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable and we will definately go back again.

Well - what can I say after reading other reviews?
try to be as honest as possible!

Accomodation. Definitely 5*. Spacious rooms fully equipped (but no tea or coffee). Maid service excellent.Fresh towels and bathrobes daily.
Pool area - excellent. Loads of beds and umbrellas. Lovely and clean. Fresh towels daily.
Entertainment. Pianist and outside entertainer(keyboard)- 5/5
Inside entertainment - very amateurish

Food. Certainly not five star. Breakfast good but dinner leaves a lot to be desired.
Obviously cater for mainly continentals . No vegetarian dishes apart from lettuce.
Would certainly go there again but B&B and eat out for dinner.
There are some lovely restaurants within an easy stroll
