We have just returned from a week in this wonderful hotel. I've looked at some of the reviews and cannot understand how some people can moan about it! Maybe the rooms are a little dated and being classed as a 5* perhaps people expect better but I can only say our experience was extremely pleasant and no complaints whatsoever. The lobby and halls are quite elaborate with marble decor and have a Roman theme with statues. We were on the 4th floor and had a large room with our own plunge pool on a large balcony. There was a small table and 2 chairs along with 2 really comfortable padded sun loungers. We had the sun on our balcony from early morning until around 3pm. The only thing which was a bit disappointing was the plunge pool was not heated so I only managed to dangle my legs in it to cool down from the sun bathing!, but my hubby was brave and took the plunge! There was a satelite tv in our room which had all the UK channels ITV, BBC1, 2, Ch4 and 5 so you won't miss out on your soaps! There was a shower and corner bath in the actual bedroom so would be ideal for honeymooners!!!! The bedding was changed every other day with towels changed daily. Rooms were cleaned daily also. The one thing which would've been nice, would've been tea/coffee making facilities which were not in the rooms. There was a mini bar fridge with cold drinks. We went on a bed and breakfast basis and I must say, the food was absolutely excellent. Such a variety to choose from and all freshly prepared. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The Mare Nostrum resort includes 5 hotels in total. The Mediterranean Palace, Cleopatra Hotel, Julio Cesar Hotel, Marco Antonio Hotel and the new Sir Anthony Hotel. This resort is a landmark in the area as many holiday makers regularly stop to take photo's standing in front of the grand fountains and Roman statues. Excellent location near to the beach, numerous bars, restaurants and plenty of shops and shopping centres. (Santiago 3 shopping mall). Most hotels in the area are either 4 or 5 star. If you turn left on the Promenade, it takes you to Los Christianos which is only a 10-15 minute walk and if you turn right on the Prom, it leads to Playa De Las Americas/Costa Adeje about an hour and half stroll. Very pleasant in the evenings watching the sun setting across the sea. Only about 15 minutes from the airport. We would certainly go back to this hotel in the future. We went the last week in November and weather was gorgeous, 25-28 deg every day and evenings.

We were greeted in reception by the satff and were offered champagne we were seated while we waited our turn to check in and our bags were put on a trolly ready to be taken to our room.
We were given our room keys ( cards) a card each to get a towel to use by the pool and the receptionist gave us hotel details she was very polite and informed us there would be someone to help 24 hours a day.

The porter took us to our room ans showed us how to use the facilities and was very helpfull.
We had a double room and it was very clean, it had a nice big bed a mini bar that could be used as a fridge if you asked the staff when checking in,a safe deposit box charged on a daily basis, a bathroom with double basin our sheets were changed every other day and we had clean towels every day.
One thing we would have like would have been tea/coffee making facilites and an iron and baord but then we did have a 24 hour room service and a laundry service. We used the room service for Breakfast one day and were only charged a few euro as we had already paid for B&B it was served on a table and the food was lovley.
We ate breakfast buffet style and the hotel catered for all tastes we had a variety of food during th week, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast and cereals, ommelette or fried eggs and crepes freshly cooked and an array of pastites and cooked breakfat items, the staff were nice and brought is tea and coffee as soon as we sat down.
There were large seating areas throughout the hotel and poolside bars offering snacks and drinks through the day.we had sunloungers by the roman pool which looked amazing.
The few shows we saw were the same dancers dancing different themed nights so I could not really comment on the entertainment.
I would reccomend this hotel to couplke or families and will return in a few years.

We were upgraded to this hotel due to a conference fully booking its sister hotel we were not dissapointed.
We had our own large top balcony with a plunge pool although bit to cold to use at this time of year but would get plenty of use in the summer.
The struugling pound-euro certainly mad it a wise choice to go half board and we could not find fault with beakfast or evening meal plenty of choice and all cooked well and plenty of room in the restaurant.
Cleaners doing a grand job and rooms were cleaned throughly

We first saw this hotel 2 yrs ago whilst on a previous trip to Tenerife and vowed to try next time.

We booked through Travel Republic and chose the cheapest option which meant we would be allocated any room in any of the 5 hotels upon arrival. We were not disappointed.

On arrival we checked in and were told we had been given a mini suite in the Julio Cesar hotel our room consisted of a large lounge with double sofa bed and balcony, a bathroom complete with robes and slippers and a bedroom with large double bed and another balcony. The room was very airy and bright and spotlessly clean. We had a mini bar in the room but you had to pay extra to use it as a fridge which was worth it as you were charged if you removed the booze.

Swimming pools were very clean with comfy lounges and plenty of beds and water was just right.

Food was very good plenty of fresh fruit and veg with food to suit all tastes perhaps not 5 * quality but definitely above average and not worth complaining about.

Location was perfect not rowdy and on the sea front which meant for plenty of sea walks and easy access to the beach.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful they even bought my son some colouring stuff and a football.

There were plenty of daytime activities to participate in but not shoved down your throat and there was a kids club too which we never used as the kids playing in the pool all day. Evening entertainment was basically non existent and drinks in the hotel bars were very expensive but the location and pleasant surroundings compensated, if you want a pint a euro you can find those in the scruffy bars further down the road.

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed in, the standard is superb. On offer is about ten restaurants with waiter service which you can book the night before or two buffet help yourself type, all included if you are half board but a bit pricey if your b.b.

The hotel sits right on the beach on the edge of Las Americas.

The pool area has plenty of beds with no one dashing down to put towels on,pool towels are provided and you can change them whenever you want.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and very efficient.

Didn't stay in for entertainment so can't really comment.
