we stayed at the maripins late september for six nights. the hotel was situated close to the malgrat train station and old town,across the road from the beach which is accessed via underpasses.we found the hotel to be very clean with friendly staff and serving good food with varied selection.the guests at the hotel were always in high spirits indicating a well run hotel.we can not comment on the entertainment as we went out every evening,overall i would recomend this hotel and wouldent hesitate staying there again.

Stayed for 5 nights. Food I found was good. Breakfast was buffet with plenty choice eggs, bacon, tomato, beans, ham, cheese, fruit and cereal. Good variety of breads and rolls. Toaster was available and a microwave to heat up babies bottles. Fruit juices and tea/coffee.Evening meal was buffet with usually a fish and two meat dishes as a choice. Plenty salad and cold meat.
The room was very clean and towels changed every day. Staff were always willing to help and had no problem with English in my experiance.
Location of the hotel is on the main street infront of the sea.
There is a two lane road and the railway line to cross to the beach.
Subway is close to the hotel.
Train noise is not bad at all.

Maripins
The hotel is in a perfect location, right smack bang in the middle of all the shops.
The hotel was clean, but the maid missed a few days doing our room but that was ok.
The food was great sometimes and poor others, not much was based what we eat in the uk, but there aren't a lot of uk tourists.
With the beach across the road and shops/supermaket/pubs out front could't of asked for a better location.
The staff that spoke english were first class but when you need help and no-one can speak English at reception it can be fustrating sometimes.
The hotel had entertainment ever night but some nights is boring. Great for the kids and some nights great for the older person.
If i were to go back I would go to this hotel, but there are others that appear more lively eith a better pool area.

The Maripins hotel was well situated on the main street.
The staff were always friendly, helpful and efficient.
The cleanliness of the hotel and outdoor areas was first class. The room maid was especially helpful.
The entertainment was ok, but to be honest we only stayed in the hotel about four nights out of a fortnight.
We stayed for fourteen nights half board and the meals although not exciting were hot and well presented.
We would definitely return to this hotel and we had an excellent holiday.

A group of 9 of us stayed at the Maripins hotel in Malgrat.
Staff very obliging could not do enough. Nothing too much trouble.
Food excellent to good to be believed.
Entertainment good and varied suitable for the older people hotel.
In great location for shops nice and quiet at night hotel a pleasure to visit.
It should be above the 3 star rating the best holiday on the Costa Brava we have ever had will definitely be back.

Very good travel company very nice hotel, staff & management but the problem we found was they take group bookings. Example may 2005 our secound week and other normal holidaymakers was spoilt by five German junior football teams literaly taking over the hotel in the daytime (swimming pool area)and throwing items in the pool breaking sunloungers at midnight and making a lot of noise Our secound experience was Sept 2006 (this year) our secound week was spoilt by group Dutch singing troups taking over the pool area in the daytime and messing up the restaurant times by coming down too early for their meals and the early people ended up waiting 45-50 minutes to get served. There was no consideration at all I pointed out to one of the hotel staff that they was on the secound sitting and she agreed but it made no difference so the way we see the group bookings take precedence over the family and single bookings.

We had been staying at another hotel which was terrible so the first impression of this hotel was that it was so clean bright & friendly. It was really peaceful & quiet & relaxing.
The food was lovely with a fresh grill section, lovely fresh salad & fruit & the coffee & tea was really good .
The location is excellent, central on the wide promenade and just across from the beach but you couldnt hear any noise from the street.
The receptionist was really helpful & extremely friendly and I was amazed when she saw me the next day and asked me was everything okay.
We were only at the hotel for two nights but the first night there was flamenco dancing which was brilliant. For the holidaymaker who goes away to relax and chill out without going completely nuts this hotel is truly well recommended by someone who has travelled for 25 years!
