We booked half board but began eating elsewhere as we found the food to be away below standard for such a grand hotel. Made the mistake of thinking that the hotel had air conditioning in the rooms, the description of the hotel informs you in careful wording that it has airconditioning, but what it actually means is that it is only air conditioned in the communal area's.
Found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull.
The entertainment was fairly basic and seemed to lack the ability to get people into the holiday spirit.

We enjoyed our visit to the Sorra D'or hotel. However, the food was well below standard and you could not tell what half of it was as there was so much battered stuff. We ended up eating out all the time.
The rooms are nice, however there is no air conditioning as stated and you cannot even rent a fan from reception. The heat becomes unbearable at night.
The staff were all very friendly, especially the barmen who always made you feel welcome.
The pool is nice, however you'll be lucky to get a sun lounger as they always seem to be reserved the night before with people's towels!!!

Very disappointing expensive hotel to book but very low standard, the worst I have ever been to. Clean enough and nice to look at but food and facilities rubbish. Not catering for the british at all in fact I was the only Brit in it.
Not for families entertainment rubbish and no real club room. Did not go in pool very deep and small no sun loungers. Not child friendly. The staff spoke very little british and were unfriendly.
The food was terrible unless you like fish every day and night and we had to eat out after paying for half board, it was cold and bland.
No other children in the hotel and walking back to it after a night out is quiet and unsafe if alone. Would recommed Malgrat as a resort lovely and friendly but look out for a good hotel as I think they are hard to come accross.

Stayed in 2005 - Beautiful hotel in a great location. Railway station just across the square, prices reasonable. Not at all noisy.
Room spotless, no shortage of clean towels.
Very poor choice of food, hot food was mainly cold, but cereal warm in the morning.
Definitely recommend.
