Well we were anxious to say the least travelling with a 4 month old baby but those fears were put out of the windw the moment we arrived.

The hotel was very clean and seemed well maintained, we arrived late at night and were still able to get something to eat, although the fare was limited.

The room was compact and the cot looked like something from the fifties but after comprehensively checking it I could find no fault. The kids room was ok but we had specifically asked for a double not a twin and what we got was 2 twins pushed together, which isn't bad but each day the maid made them up as 2 twins still can't have everything.

Breakfast was good, the usual stuff you expect on holiday with the added attraction of crepes. All the food was palitable and more often that not very, very tasty. This continued with all the meals including the snack bars.

Located on the beach this was great but the sister hotel also shared the beach so space was limited. Throughout the holiday the staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble and the baby got special attention from everyone from manager down to the maids and cleaners.

One word of warning, we travelled with a 15 year old daughter too which occasionally brought the unwanted attentions of the waiters and entertainment staff. The entertainment staff did a good job off keeping the enthusiasim up and deserve what little thanks they get.

To sum it up a great holiday spoiled only by the weather which decided to most un-mediteranean for most of the time, so the wife was unhappy no tan for her.

The hotel was clean, think the 4 star rating is ambitious though. Food , plenty of it to choose from, I think there would be something wrong if you couldn't find anything to eat, was not happy to find creepy crawlies in the dates though.

Found the staff (waiters) more friendly if they thought they would get a tip.

Weather not good at this time of year.

Went quad biking on what looked like the local rubbish tip.

The shop keepers at the marina could get an olympic gold medal for pestering you to buy something and we found their attention far too familiar, glad we had'nt taken our young daughters.

Drink was weak and not a vast choice, snacks at night ( by the disco ) were usually cold.

Think we choose a retirement home because there was a large amount of pensioners staying.

I found this hotel fantstic I've been back twice and loved it each time, everyone is extrordinarily friendly. The staff will stop and chat with you which is a far cry from the dirty looks you get in England.

The animation team were wonderful - friendly with absurd amounts of energy. The evening entertainment was a little cheesy but enjoyable if you choose to ignore the cheesiness.

Beware of the welcome tour, we went and ended up being given the hard sell in a carpet factory, I don't know if they all go there or just ours but be prepared anyway.

That is the only possibe complaint the hotel and staff were amazing- I'll be back next year!

The hotel was very clean The reception area was spotless as were the rooms. The maid came in every day made the beds cleaned up and changed the towels.

The food was wonderful! There was something there for everyone no matter what age. There was always some were to get food from 6:30 am to 1:00 am and it was always delicious. I recomend the chicken kebabs in the pool bar at lunch.

The hotel was a twenty minute walk away from the port or you could take a taxi witch cost 3 Dinar however it was quite hot for the children to walk around in the miday heat. The beach was at the back of the hotel and it took one minute to walk there from the pool it was a loverly beach. I would recermend you go on the two day sahara trip it is two early starts and quite a bit of traverling but you see most of the sites in tunisia and have the chance to ride a camel in the sahara.

The staff were very nice and always willing to help. the waiters and bar staff are always clearing up after you, by the end of the holiday they had memerised your drink order and it was practically on the table befor you sat down. All the staff are very friendly and greatly aprishiate any tips you give them.

The Animation team are brilliant and have endless energy they are always dancing around the pool or doing one of the many activities. They have certain songs they play quite a lot but once you no the dances it is fun to join in.
There was always something on at night done by the Animation team in the what looked like a converted airport hanger, i would recermend that you go and see the Michael Jackson show.

I am visiting this hotel again. Everyone we spoke to said it was great for children and teenagers as on alternate nights there was a disco and a beach party. i would recomend it to any one going to Tunisia.

My wife and I stayed at the Abou Sofiane hotel in Port El Kantoui, Tunisia from the 8th-22nd August 2004.
We were a bit apprehensive about being all inclusive as this was the first time we had tried it,but we had nothing to worry about on this particular holiday.
It exceeded our expectations.
The Hotel was very clean, and staff very helpfull, the accomodation was comfortable.
The meals were also very good and catered for everyones tastes,I found the staff at this hotel all very helpfull, from the chambermaids, bar staff reception staff, entertainment staff, chefs, portering staff right down to the gardeners and all the Management.
The layout of the hotel was very good, beautiful gardens, leading down to a terrific beach and a very good pool area if you weren't a beach lover.
Food and drink were served all day long and there was plenty of activities going on for all to enjoy.

Just arrived back from one of the best hotels we have ever visited.
From the time that you arrive to the time that you leave you will find the most frendly staff.
The food at this hotel is excellent.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and it makes a very plesant change to have air con units that run silently.
Perhaps the only complaint would be that the entertainment is not up to much unless you are very young.
Both indoor and outdoor pools are excellent and the beach is very good.
One slight problem is that you will probably come home with a much bigger waist line than you arrived with.

The hotel is quite well situated 20 minute stroll along the beach to marina or five mins in a taxi [only 3-4 dinar]
The staff were great . Cannot fault this hotel at all. Rooms were clean and comfortable. TV had cartoon network which went down well with our 9 year old.

Free non motorised water sports, motorised water sports are very fairly priced, enjoyed by all our party.

Marina well worth a visit ,very clean and picturesque. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff very energetic and friendly but do not pester you to join in if you would rather relax.

This hotel is amazing! One of the best hotels i've ever stayed at. It's got everything you'll ever need without a doubt!

We went to Tunisia on 25th July 2004. When we arrived at the hotel it was much better than we'd expected. The rooms were spotless, hairdryers included. The entires hotel was spotless! There is a convenience store, jewelery section, indoor & outdoor swimming pool, massage parlour if you're in to that sort of thing and it isn't expensive, a souvenier shop, snack bar, cocktail bar, bar on the breach serving free drinks (and they often bring the free drinks over to you!), tennis courts, football courts, volley ball courts, crazy golf and archery!!! On the beach there's loads of water sports - paragliding, banana boats etc... the beach in 1 min away if that!!!!! It's the ideal location!

We stayed at the Abou Sofiane first in 2003 for our honeymoon and could not have enjoyed it more, we found the staff to be very friendly - all you have to do is say please / thank you and smile - is it really so hard?

We had such a good time that we returned last year with two of our teenage children and they too had a great time. In fact we have recommended the place to another of our children who travels out there next week.

The food was great / entertainment most entertaining!! cleanliness and location v good.

The only time we saw any staff being less than friendly was when holiday makers slammed glasses down demanding drinks without any respect - what would you do???

Would have no hesitation in returning and as for 'cruelty to the cats' we saw staff daily feeding them titbits and there was a permanent saucer by the door.

Hotel Cleanliness - Grand reception area which makes a good first impression on arrival. The rooms are lovely and there is maid service every day, clean towels daily and rooms left tidy and spotless. The hotel as a whole was kept very clean and well maintained. Tip your maid on departure, its deserved and they appreciate it.

Hotel Food - go on a diet before you go because the food is great. Not even the fussiest of eaters would go hungry - something for everyone although buffet food could have been a bit hotter. Fresh crepes being made to order at breakfast in the main restaurant and during the day in the poolside bar - a daily must. We ate one night (which is what we were allowed) at the a la carte Tunisian restaurant in the Riviera - fantastic. Couldn't get booked for the Italian although believe we didn't miss much. However, be aware that you have to book at Abou Sofiane for your meals at Riviera and when we tried to book we were told both Tunisian and Italian were fully booked. We spoke to our rep about that as at the end of the day this was part of the holiday we had booked and he got us into the Tunisian.

Hotel Location - right on the beach so great for any water sports - all very cheap so well worth doing. 20-25 minute walk into the Marina and shops - 2 dinar in a taxi.

Hotel Staff - can't do enough for you - best I've ever experienced in all the countries I've visited. Time however is whatever suits them - currency exchange was meant to be from 9.00am till 10.50am but some mornings they had not dinars so didn't open till 9.30am! If you're heading out for the day that can be a bit inconvenient.

Entertainment - the animation team work really hard but the nightime "cabaret" left a lot to be desired - reminded me of Butlins in the 70s. Alternate nights between Abou Sofiane and Riviera. When you're in the Riviera for the entertainment, the minute the show is over they won't serve you any drinks. The bar staff also take note of which wristband you're wearing and serve guests of the Riviera first and overall you're made to feel like a second class citizen over there.

No complaints about this beautiful hotel and would possibly stay there again if I go back to Tunisia.

The camel caravan (at 15 dinars each) is an absolute must - fabulous afternoon out riding ponies, camels and if you don't fancy that you can simply travel on the horse and trap. Keep plenty of loose dinars as you're forever tipping -but are glad to, believe me.
