The resort, like the rest of Malta is a bit dusty, and there is quite a bit of biulding work on going throughout. However it was pleasant enough, and has plent of shops, and quite a good selection of restaurants, although it by no means a lively resort.

Most people seem to spend the evenings sitiing ans strolling along the habour front.

There is no beach, but there are plenty of rocks to go lie on, which is what most of the locals seem to do.

The resort is more suited to couples, singles or older families as the younger ones do start to miss not having a beach. It would be an ideal short city break for shopping. Shops are as good as a large UK city with all the variety. Though Sliema is very hot and dusty.

No-one goes to Malta for the beaches. As a base for visting Valletta (5 min, 60p ferry ride) it is ideal.

Plenty of shops, including some British favourites like M&S, and restaurants. Frequent and cheap buses cover the whole island, but poor sign posting makes joining the main road network a challenge. Also, local drivers see a hire car as a challenge to be overtaken as soon as possible, if not sooner.

Sundown itself isn't in a resort. The nearest is Sliema about 1 mile away-a nice easy stroll.
Sliema is a good place to visit for shops and trips around the island by boat. Busy main road.

No beach in Sliema, a harbour resort. The harbour has plenty of boat trip excursions, to Gozo, the blue lagoon, full trip around Malta, and ferry across to the capital Valetta. Buses leave Sliema harbour to all parts of Malta including the beaches for a maximum of 50 cents one way (about 80p - for a hour bus ride).
No much entertainment except for bars and restaurants, Not recommended for teenagers!

Resort very central, handy for clubs and eating places with Paceville & St Jullians being so close.

Sliema is ok, shops and a ferry to Valletta.

Bus terminals with access to all the island. Reasonably clean but rubbish on streets in some parts. After eight seemed like all went dark and quiet im sure if we had looked down the streets we might have found something to occupy at night.

Harbour - not really beaches in Sliema. Wouldnt visit Sliema again although accessible to the rest of Malta.

The current problem with the Sliema and St. Julian's area is that there is dog dirt everywhere. British touts are also making life unpleasant. The only access to sea bathing is off rocks or man made concrete piers. However, it is convenient to Valletta.

If you like holidays with very little to do then this is for you, but we did not like Malta in general not enough entertainment for us.

A lot of building work going on with plenty of cranes insight(this did not disturb us) I swam with dolphins in the Mediterraneo park and that was brilliant good show after I would reccomend.

Beaches were very few and far between.
