We stayed at this hotel in August 2006. It is a lovely hotel, very clean lovely big rooms we had a sea view room which overlooked the pool.

The food was brilliant plenty of choice .but they could have done with opening the snack bar during the evening as those of us on early sitting for dinner were a bit peckish later in the evening. We were all inclusive.

The staff were really friendly and always ready to help you.

The only downfall was the entertainment in the evening was very poor. You are better going into the town to be entertained. Overall the holiday was brilliant and we would definitely go back to this hotel.

On arrival the hotel looked lovely very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly.

The food was excellent lots of choice for kids and adults , it was always served hot and cooked well.

The hotel was in a good location and not far from the beach just across road, which I feel was a little dangerous road for kids to cross. Very narrow and all traffic squashed on this narrow road which seemed too small.

The beach was very clean, and lots of life guards to help if needed, very strong current and were always watching over you.

The hotel staff were sometimes very helpful, the enterainment on other hand needs looking at. The day time was spot on, but come to the evening not enough for the children and teenagers, in fact nothing for them to do at all!

Kids running around lost and misbehaving jumping of the rock in the middle into the pool no adults in sight.

We went for 2 weeks, 1st week was nice and warm not hot which I thought July would be the hottish part of the year, the start of second week very bad storms and flooding in areas outside the doors of most appartments, which was seen too fast by staff and brushed away.

Second week well; hoilday from hell springs to mind. My son (9yrs)fell very ill, had to be put on a drip as losing fuild and didn't have strength to drink or eat.

The doctor on site had very poor english and didn't understand a thing I told him, all he wanted was to make money from us which they did twice! As 2 days later I was ill too (a business only).

I put it down to a bug in pool, as my son stayed in the water most of the day. This was very upsetting for him and i was seriously worried for him, 4 days of our 2nd week we were confined to our room so the bug we got stayed they and didn't spread to other guest on site.

Then 2 days before we left my other son fell ill also, he brought his bug back with us this was very upsetting.

I won't ever return and I won't recommend this to anyone.

We were allocated on arrival and got Riu Viva and were very pleasantly surprised.

I think I was expecting an old "communist block" hotel. However, its fairly recently built and very modern inside. Had a lovely big room with a massive walk in shower.

Our room overlooked the back of the resort and you could mainly just see very wooded hills behind, which made it feel very peaceful. The pool area was nice (cold though) and there was no problem getting sun beds.

If you walked down the steps (85 I think - sounds a lot but good exercise when coming up) and turned left the bars, restaurants and shops started and the beach was around a 5 minute walk.

We walked the entire length of the resort in around 45 minutes and there were shops, bars and restaurants almost all the way along.

I'd read the Thomson food survey results and was really worried, but we found the food fine and there was a good selection (but maybe not as extensive as some hotels we've stayed in). You can help yourself in the restaurant to various drinks on tap, including red and white wine, beer and soft drinks. They are very generous with their measures of drinks in the bar and all the staff are friendly and pleasant.

The only thing that we felt could have been improved would be some day time activities round the pool and a few more shows in the evenings. But having said that we all really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly stay here again.

Stayed in the Riu Viva for 2 weeks. Wxcellant service.

On arrival we were given sparkling wine and a very warm welcome! We were booked into our rooms and sorted out very quickly and efficiently!(arrived early hours of the morning!)

The Riu hotels are run very efficiently. They are absolutely immaculate, the cleaning staff work very hard and are a credit to them (hence the biggest tip went to the cleaning ladies!).

The restaurant is clean and well run...lots and lots of choice!

The hotel is not too far from centre and far enough away from noise...Staff very friendly and helpful.

The entertainment isn't great but the folklore evening not too bad!

Would definately stay here again.

Just came back from this hotel and was very impressed. Location is great far enough away from busy streets but close enough to get to town (via steps at back of hotel). Staff very friendly and hotel is kept immaculate. rooms very large and comfortable. wide range of drinks, spirits etc available until 12.oopm - and you decide on the size of measures Beer always cold and lively hard to get used to the second class stuff back in the UK. Food good lunch and dinner: pasta, pizza, soup, chips, pork, chicken, fish, salads, breads and desserts daily. Breakfast is OK preferred making cheese and ham rolls at the later contenental breakfast. snacks from 3-5pm - pizza, open sandwiches, fruit, cakes and ice-cream. All tastes catered for but choice is the same every night. Large pool, which is very cold at first, and daily activities.
Most guests are German, some Russians and maybe 10% English but all very friendly and polite. Staff very friendly but do not have a large command of english i.e. enough for a chat and conversation. Expect this will change as it is a Thompson hotel and more English people will be visiting. Thompson Rep was excellent. had a great holiday and would definitely book with thompson again also would definitely stay in another RIU hotel.
