on first arriving at the rising star we were a little disappointed to have a room without a pool view. However, when the sun came up at daft o'clock i went out onto the balcony to find a great sea view (beyond the tomato and melon fields) and if i looked to the left there was a small chapel on the hill. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed (cooking rings, oven and grill, kettle, toaster, hair-dryer and musical fridge complete with complementary piece of cardboard for wedging the switch to shut it up!)air conditioning was a god send as it was around 40degrees when i was there. it cost 2.50 per unit per day (definately worth it at night). tv was also very cheap and shows classic corrie episodes every day near enough, but if thats not enough the local bars show weekly omnibus on saturday and sunday. pool is excellent and has jacuzzi and baby pool at the side. there was also an indoor pool, gym (personal trainer for hire), sauna, steam room and tennis court. food was ace and if you have your evening meal here you get 20%off. hotel staff were very friendly and would help in any way possible. entertainers were mainly there for entertaining kids and each other. feel ashamed to know words and full dance routines to cartoon heroes and mimic man!!!!! evening entertainment wasn't that good other than karaoke night (i won-ha) and cyprus night with cypriot dancing and bbq. Really really enjoyed my stay and would go back any time-local bars are great and people are really friendly-great hotel and resort for couples, old and young, families and groups of friends. loved it!!!!!

This was the best holiday I've ever been on!!! We got home and booked the same hotel again for next year! Cant wait! I have no complaints about the hotel its self. The room was cleaned often and I couldn't have asked for a better location! We put our sunbeds on some grass bettween the pool and the beach, what more could you want! As for the entertainment, what can i say....It was ace! All the entertainers are lovely and they work their socks off! Matt is ace! He's just sooo funny and famous!- Tinky Winky from the Teletubbies! Neil is ace too he's gorgeous!!! When you leave you're guarenteed to know the cartoon heroes dance and Mimic man! The staff are nice aswell but the barmen could have been a bit nicer to younger children.

We stayed in the older part of the hotel and it was fantastic,we had two large balconys overlooking the sea and beach.
and two out of the three bedrooms overlooked the pool view.The rooms were very spacious and the whole appartment was very well equipped with everything that was needed,apart from a hammer to stop the fridge singing its heart out.
very clean and well maintained,air conditioning was excellent and you definately need it to stay cool at night.

The hotel was just the best!! It wasn't too busy but it wasn't too quiet which was good.
The rooms were really nice and it was cleaned almost everyday! The only bad thing in the rooms in the singing fridges!!!! But they can easily be stopped by wedging some card board in too it!!!!
The location of the hotel is right next too the beach for those lazy days. If you walk further up the island too one of the other beaches you will find many watersports available.
The entertainment was brilliant, there are lots of in the pool activities for adults and children too get involved in!! e.g. aqua-splash, water polo, mini discos and the exciting water olyimpics and much more!! On a night the entertainment was brill aswell. They have comedians magicians, dancing and much more which all begins at 10 every night, and after that they always have a mini disco for the children which is really good.
The entertainers are lovely, each one of them puts in loads of effort!!
We have booked too go again next year it was that good!!!!!!!!!!

the hotel is near to shops restraunts pubs the staff were freinly but could of been a bit nicer the hotel is allways clean and tidy.the worst bit about the room is the singing fridges.for the entertainment and the entertainers ther brill they work really hard and they are all lovely especially matt who is absoultly gorgeus and is soo funny he uster be tinky winky from teletubbies you will love him. you will defenatly know cartoon heros mimicman and startreking songs before you come home and the dancers to go with it.the worst bit about the holiday is having to come home.

on the 28th of july we traveled to the rising star hotel we got there early in the morning but it was great to travel through the protaras town.
The entertainers were excellent and the resort was great.
Next year we have to come back here again because it was great and we all loved it.
Really nice appartments and very clean the children joined in all the entertainers activities.
Matt Tammy Neil Ali was all great at singing the 10.00 evening shows were great to watch and all the family loved it we have got no bad comments about this place.

We stayed in the old apartment block formerly the Salparo. The view from our apartment No 424 was fantastic. It looked out along the full length of the beach and the sun shone on the balcony all day not that we spent all day in.
The pool was excellent and there were enough sun beds even if you got to the pool by 11 o clock.
The Yianna Marie supermarket was well stocked and the staff helpful and friendly, it was fresh Egg n Bacon rolls for breakfast every morning and the milk tasted like home.
Although the fridge sung to you every time you opened it this was easily solved by wedging a piece of cardboard into the light switch, this stopped the light coming on BUT it stopped the fridge singing to you.
The Entertainment staff two girls and three boys, two of the boys Neil and Matt were good value for money, Matt was too funny for words, to see him prancing around the stage in bright blue Lycra leggings with red leotard and Hawaii style shirt singing "Like a Virgin" with his Frank Spencer voice.
The pool bar closed at midnight after the cabaret finished, but the veranda bar stayed open until very very late. Every so often during the day it was announced that the bars offered 30% off of all drinks for the next hour.

I had a wonderful time staying at the rising star apartments. There is loads to do for all people from oap's to infants. The pool/bar area is really nice and relaxing.
It is right on the sea front so it is a really nice walk. The town is within a short walking distance. The food and drinks are also delicious(vanilla milkshakes).
I guarantee that you wont get bored as there is tennis courts, pool tables, table tennis, indoor pool, gym,outdoor pool with jucuzzi and lots of entertainment.
I will be going again!!!!!

Just returned from our Holiday and really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were lovely and clean, everything brand new. Even the Beds were Divans and not the wooden bases you usually get. Not much storage though, only one single wardrobe for all of us, and no drawers. Singing Fridge was annoying especially at night when my children were asleep, use to wake them up. Air conditioning in rooms but have to pay for each unit (1 in bedroom, and 1 in front room). We didn't use it, although towards the end of our holiday it got really hot, and found it hard to sleep. Have to pay for T.V but wasn't dear. Don't take Hairdryer with you, one in room, and you can also lend Irons. Our room overlooked Pool and Bay, fantastic veiws.
Pool area fantastic, which we didn't find cold. No fighting for sunbeds, even if you went down to the pool at dinner, there was still plenty left. Indoor pool also good. Nice big indoor play area for young children.
Food lovely, although we only ate at dinner time, plenty of snacks to chose from, resonably priced. Sometimes a bit slow though, but who cares your on holiday.
Staff very friendly, and nothing is to much trouble.
Entertainment needs to be better, ok for kids during the day, but needs to be improved evenings.
Would we go again? definately. All in All, A fab hotel in a fab location, which we would have no hestitation in returning.

Frst impressions of the Rising Star is that everything is new.
The rooms are excellent, very clean and well equipped. Toaster, microwave etc.
We had a room facing away from the pool/sea side. Actually I think this was better as we could still see the sea to the side of our balcony and we were able to sit out and watch the sunset with a glass of wine before heading out for the evening. The view to this side of the hotel is quite pleasant, with a farm growing peppers, courgettes, marrows etc and lots of the local windmills.
The only slight problem with the accomodation is the noise from other rooms bathroom extractor fans, which might disturb you in the early hours. Can't say I heard anyone elses fridge though.
The reception of the hotel is well appointed and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Can't say I sampled any of the hotels entertainment. Not really our cup of tea, but if you like that kind of rep lead thing then its probably good. Certainly would be good for families with kids.
