The resort of Psadli is very small with just a few tavernas and supermarkets..not much to do in the evenings unless you want to watch the kids having fun at the sister hotel.

Zia was worth a visit and we hired a moped at very reasonable prices and explored the whole island at our leisure.

Kos town is more lively however most bars were fairly empty.if you want an exciting nightlife its probably better to go later on in the season.

Weather was good- in the high 70's except for two cloudy days. sunscreen is expensive to buy at the resort.

I would recommend this holiday if you want some relaxation and a clean spacious hotel.

Psalidi is a half hour from the airport and about 2 miles from Kos Town. Because we need to arrange our own transfers anyway (that would have been £72 by coach return for 4 of us) we hired a car. This was a big bonus especially for getting to the airport before all the coaches decend for the flights home and also getting around the island. Low season it is less than £100 for a Clio (don't get anything smaller with 2 children - you won't get your cases in !) I recommend you pre book on the internet but do shop around there is a bit difference in price. Petrol is a bit cheaper than here (lots of petrol stations near Kos Town) and you won't find it difficult to get around - but do keep your eyes about you for all the hired bikes, quads, and greek motorists who all have their own interpretation of good driving !!!
There is not much at Psalidi itself - a few shops and tavernas - an aqua park that we didn't visit (was closed) but have been told it is expensive for what it is.
Kos Town has plenty going on with boat trips and ancient ruins. There is a Noddy Train that runs around the town (green one)you catch at the main harbour - cheap entertainment for the kids and another (blue one) caught nearer the new marina that runs up to the ruins on the hillside 3 miles outside of town - definitely worth a trip.

Beaches around Kos Town are quite pebbly, but excellent beaches towards Tingaki (40 mins gentle bike ride)

Lots to see and do around Kos Town

Trips to Turkey - book at the port not with reps (19 Euros (including taxes) as averse to 45 Euros with reps) - definately well worth the visit especially for the 'shopaholics' (Market day on Tuesday good for a haggle)

The beach was awful just shingle, there were a couple of nice restaurants which we visited.

Nothing really to say about the resort as there is relatively nothing there!

Kos Town was very nice and we noticed how well swept the streets were.

Every Bar we went in was friendy and we found several that had entertainers/music.

There was no sight of those beggars and flower sellars that bother you in other resorts.

There are many boat trips run from the harbour and we choose to visit Bodrum in Turkey at 14 Euro each.

We went on Tuesday a market day but it was an hour and half trip with a bothersome passport control proceadure outward bound.

I was very impressed with the Greeks attitude to Holiday makers.

We stayed in Psalidi which is 3km out of Kos town. We found this to be good as we were near enough Kos town for the biz and far enough away for peace and quiet at night.

The walk in to town is 45 mins and pleasant but you can get a taxi for 6 euros which is good value.

We didn't visit any of the beaches as they are shingly but instead went to most of the other beaches on the island as we had a hired car. (The rep gave us wrong directions from the Airport to our resort at 3am and we got lost for over 2 hours and had a burst tyre on the car which cost us 80 euros as insurance doesn't cover it!!!)

Paradise beach in particular is really good but busier than the rest.

Kefalos was also really good.

Marmari and Tingaki were a lot windier and we didn't use the beaches much.

The Asceplion was particularly interesting as were other historical sites.

We did Zia during the day and it was a good trip. It wasn't too busy and we thought it was beautiful. I can imagine it would be a bit on the busy side in the high season.

We did a 3 island boat trip which was exceptionally good value and one I would do again. There were only 12 of us on the boat and we had room to move about quite freely.

We went into Kos town most nights and the harbour is really pretty with all the lights.

I would visit this resort again and would stay in the same hotel as it was near Kos town.

Some of the other resorts were too far from town for me personaly.

Psalidi is the best part of Kos. The whole island is beautiful. Psalidi is quiet if you want quiet. Lively within walking distance. Ample eating establishments. Friendly people. Kos Town has a wide variety of shops, taverns. Anything you may need is available here.
