The hotel, staff and food could not be faulted! The friendliness and helpfulness of both the Thomson reps. and every member of the hotel staff (including the cleaners) made this a hotel that you regretted leaving!

The food was exceptionally good and catered for every requirement - except those on a diet!

The location is not the best, as the beach area is quite a walk for the not so nimble, but the hotel provides a free bus service to and from the beach and other local towns three times a day.

The hotel is more suited to the over 30's rather than teenagers and children under the age of 16 are not accepted. This makes the holiday very relaxing and peaceful!

The entertainment is usually good and mainly provided by the reps. and resident duo with occasional traditional entertainment.

Our only complaint was the high prices of all drinks in the hotel but apart from that we would definitely go again.

We booked this hotel knowing that Thomson Gold hotels are normally of a good standard. We were not disappointed. The hotel was clean and well presented. The staff were friendly and most helpful. The Thomson reps and entertainers were also good.

The hotel is located in a very quiet area, but this suited us. The hotel grounds and swimming pool area are very relaxing and there was none of the usual sun bed hogging that you can get with many 'UK' package holiday hotels.

A short walk away (5 - 10 mins) through the pine forest grounds of the neighbouring hotel complex was the lovely Pine Cliffs 9 hole golf course with driving range and practice facilities. Also access can be gained to a beautiful beach with cafe/bar(Please note that you will have to walk down steep steps to the boardwalk, but there is a lift that goes half way down but it was not working when we visited). However, the hotel does provide free bus to a nearby beach 3 times a day.

Overall, if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday we can highly recommend this hotel. If you want night life forget it.

PS The weather in mid November was fabulous 70F and sunny for most of the week.

This hotel is a Thomson Gold but not up to the normal standard as we have found previously. We had a superior room which was very good and the hotel staff were excellent but the food left a lot to be desired!!! The meat/chicken/fish on the main course was always dried up and with not much variety. The dessert course was dreadful, tinned fruit and on more than one occasion nothing left but a few crumbs on the few cakes that were on offer.
Cleanliness of the hotel/rooms was impeccable.
Location was OK but we were glad we were not stying for more than one week as I think we would have been bored.

Hotel Felesia is a gold hotel we have stayed in two other gold's.

Which have been much nicer food is only average after staying there for two weeks the food was very repetive there was no choice of fresh fruit mostly tinned fruit considering all the fruit that is grown in Portugal.

Sunbeds you was only able to go out to them after nine am that what the notice said in lift but there was towels on them before nine and left on all day with no one on them.

Air conditioning in bedrooms was bad we had to complain twice but nothing was done .

Safe was a rip off 30 euros for two weeks.

Also fridge but we did not pay as my husband diabetic so needs it for insulin.

The entertainment we did see was the same acts that we had seen the last two years.

Prices for drinks for single measure was expensive went to the brothers bar down the road got triple for less.

Indoor pool and jaquzzi very nice we use it most afternoons until the day before we were leaving they came and took the sunbeds away to put outside by pool we ask why they were doing this and was told there was not enough sun beds outside.

Bedrooms ok, bathrooms look a bit tired.

This is not a beach hotel but in an ideal location should you wish to use it as a base to tour the Algarve. The hotel itself is lovely, we had a pool view room and it was very comfortable. The food both quality and choice was excellent, well presented and always hot. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. There was a large outdoor pool, indoor pool and jacuzzi and plenty of sunbeds. The hotel provides a mini-bus to the nearest beach but we never used it.

We were not too impressed with the bar prices though, the cheapest bottle of wine was 12 euro's 20 and two bacardi and cokes cost 11 euros. The mini-bar in the room is locked and cost 25 euro's per week to hire. If you had it stocked by the hotel you paid for the drinks but were not allowed to put anything of your own in it, not even water and the receptionist told us that this was checked on a daily basis and anything of ours would be removed. This was also confirmed in the Thompson welcome letter we received on arrival.

There is a very little to do in the area, just a street with a few bars and restaurants but as I mentioned above, with transport you can visit many of the major resorts.

There is plenty of entertainment going on in the evening, a duo, the Thompson Gold Team, Portugese Dancers etc. as hotel entertainment goes, we would rate it better than average.

The Hotel is located in a quiet resort which suits us as we don't like the hustle and bustle of busy tourist resorts.

Rooms are large and airey and comfortable but the bathrooms are in need of refurbishing as I think they are tired looking.

The food was good quality but if you like the standard british cuisine ie: meat and two veg then you will be ok.
The fresh fruit was nice but after the same at both breakfast and evening you tend to get a bit bored.

The staff were no different to any other hotel, there if you needed them.

Prices in the hotel were very high, we visited a local run english bar called the pig and whistle and drank there every night at half the price of the hotel. We had to rent the fridge in the room for 25 euros so we could chill our own drinks which I think is a rip off.

The Hotel grounds and gardens are really pretty and plenty of sunbeds were available most days. One thing I did notice was that towels were not out until after 9.30am which is far better than having to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure you get a sunbed.

The Thomson entertainment was poor, like being at a holiday camp in Blackpool not really for us.
