Stayed on a B&B basis. The food provided was limited in choice, but adequate. The hotel has a buffet restaurant and a grill restaurant which is situated on the 10th floor. Didn't try either of these, although they did appear to be well used in the evenings.
Hotel is big, well furnished and kept immaculately clean. The rooms are very comfortable and adequately furnished. Hair dryer provided in the bathroom. 24hr room service available. Air conditioning in the room was inadequate and the rooms became very hot during the night-although the weather was extremely hot 98F on 29.06.05!!
Hotel provides animation programme both day and evening. There are also special 'theme' nights for children, which allows parents to dine in the hotel at a reduced price whilst the children are entertained and fed!
Staff are efficient and helpful, most speak English.
Although at the top of the 'Strip', this hotel is in a great location. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and the strip is a pleasant walk in the evenings.
Hotel provides a regular, free bus service to the beach and old town.
Didn't use the hotel for evening entertainment, so cannot comment.
We would definitely visit this hotel again. It is easy to book direct and is good value for money, whilst also being 4* hotel accommodation!

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the rooms were spotlessly clean and very large. The rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard. The only downfall of the hotel was the location. It is a good 20 minute walk to the beach however the hotel do provide a free bus to and from the beach and also a free bus to the Old Town. On a night it is also quite a walk to the liveliest bars down "the strip" although there are lots of bars to stop off at on the way.
Overall a really nice hotel probably more suited for families and older people.

Easy to book direct with the hotel and they can arrange a mini bus transfer from the airport which is cheaper than a taxi. Excellent friendly hotel. Spacious rooms and kept extremely clean.We have stayed twice at this hotel and will return. Request a high floor sea view room as it is quieter at night.

The rooms were kept extremley clean as was the hotel.
The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times.
The hotel was conveninetly located for the strip and other activities. The entertainment is not something that we tried at the hotel so cannot really comment on this.
We have stayed in many 4 star hotels and this was by far the best. I would definatly stay again. The only piece of advice that I can offer is that if you want a sunbed make sure you reserve it early.

Although its a 20 years old hotel, it's very well conserved.
The food is mostly portuguese and tastes quite good. There is also a BBQ in the pool terrace every thursdays with live music and entertainment.
It's a clean hotel and you can see every days the staff doing the cleaning in every 10 floors.
The location is not that great if you are looking for a blast in the city because it's located about 7 Kms far from Albufeira, but there is a famous strip right outside the hotel with lots of bars, restaurants and places where you can get some fun.
There are 3 allways crowded lifts and 3 big bars when, at night, you can have some fun as well, with live music and games.
Staff is very gentle and quite eficient.
Ah, by the way, its full during the EURO 2004 !!

The hotel was clean and the rooms were large. As we were bed & breakfast this was upto usual standard.
The hotel was at the top of the "strip" which had plenty of shops and bars, the only trouble was you kept getting mithered to eat at their restaurants. There were also time share people everywhere - so beware!
At the top of the strip from the hotel, we found a good place for booking trips on the left just after the small park area

Hotel very clean in terms of bedrooms. Sheets and towels changed daily.
Food poor. Not enough selection and staff unfriendly
In the quieter area of the resort. However, 10 minutes walk up the road and you are approached by drug dealers.
Poor customer service. Would not go out of their way to help you.
Hotel very dated and health and safety an issue. Doors had deadlock on inside to keep people out. However, not suitable for people with young children as once you press the handle they can open the door. Complained 5 times about this, but hotel would not do anything about it. Made complaint to Airtours Reps. Had to put settee up against the door each night.
No iron or ironing board.

I love the Hotel Monty have been to it twice now and think its lovely.
Staff are friendly and do anything to help.
look forward to going back and taken my new husband whos never been.

Long walk from the beaches and Albufeira centre, but close to 'the strip' wherein lie all manner of entertainment and eating possibilities....and therein lies the problem. Opposite the hotel is an Irish bar which has karaoke and singing till 2-3am, which is very audible for a good few hundred yards in all directions. If you have a room at the front of the hotel you will be asking for a room at the back after the first night.
