we enjoyed our stay at this apt hotel, the rooms were a decent size but basic, fridge was noisey on and off all night and shower didnt work very well and you had to hold it with 1 had whilst trying to shower, but apart from that, rooms had a balcony over looking the sea, we had a great shopping centre called forum madeira opposite which was handy for buying our fresh bread and croissants each day, and some lovely clothes and homewear shops. hotel has a airport bus stop outside and a normal bus stop , it was too far to walk into town probably 45-60 mins at a guess. the hotel provided free mini bus weekdays leaving at 9, 10, 11, 12, 3.30 & 5 returning, 2,4,5.30 to and from the sea front. a taxi was around 6.50 euro. about 10 mins drive. staff were ok but werent very up on anything we asked them, re information, prices of trips etc and even failed to tell us monday was bank holiday, so we were left sat to mon with all banks closed so struggled without much euro, hotel wouldnt change money for us. the safe is 1 euro a day and 5 euro deposit
