This was the first time we have stayed at this resort and found it good. The food did leave a lot to be desired - unless you love burgers/chips etc. Even the main restaurant could do better, and I also feel that the bar near the restaurant should be open earlier, we would have enjoyed a drink before and after dinner before the entertainment started.

Hotel was extremely clean in main hotel but the Western Salon bar area could do with a bit of a makeover and the toilets were a mess. My husband had to wade through water to get out.... and the ladies loos were always out of paper.

The location was fine, we knew that there wasnt much to do around the area so didnt expect too much. I would like to say that the buses need to run a bit more frequently. If you missed the 9.30 bus into town you had to wait until 11.30 and not be able to get back until 5pm, which is really hard work when you have a 2 year old with you. We got a taxi back from ibiza town which cost about 25 euros.

On to the entertainment, Both the Thomson team and the animation team work their socks off to get people involved. Our first week they had there famous Boogie Nights and you really dont want to miss that. There were a couple of outside acts which also made a nice change. Bar staff were also brilliant. They really dont skimp on the alcohol.

On a personal note we wouldnt return to this hotel, it really does need revamping.People that we spoke to who had been there previousy also said that the food and hotel rooms were of the worst standard that they had seen. All in all a good holiday with special thanks to Thomson reps Danny and Jen Jen and all the animation team (oh and bar staff) and I mustnt forget Thomson the Dog and JaJa the clown.

My young children loved the San Miguel Hotel. The playground is super, the beach is safe and situated right next to hotel. Two baby pools and swimming pools. excellent entertainment.

Theres plenty of choices of food for the little ones and adults too. I am a fussy eater and I found plenty to please me and my children.

The rooms are pretty basic but very clean and the hotel staff work hard to please everyone and give great service. If you want to spend your holiday in a luxury hotel room you will not like the San Miguel, and if you want numerous bars and discos this is not for you.

San Miguel is a picturesque quiet cove with a handful of shops and entertainment is hotel based - but the entertainment is very very good here at the San Miguel, for kids and adults.

Just got back from a two week stay in the San Miguel hotel. The hotel was spotless as were the rooms....maybe a bit dated but comfortable.

The food was very good most of the time and my kids loved the fact you could go for a late night snack!

We had the most fantastic view of the beach from our hotel balcony and I really miss waking up to that each morning.

I did find the bar staff really rude and unsociable...they had a habit of throwing your orders at you and those in the western saloon tended to whisper a lot to each other? made you feel a bit conscious

The chicken pieces in there were fab!

Edwina at reception was a really happy helpful girl and Alfredo the restaurant manager was lovely!

The entertainment team were pretty good although I did find Zorro a bit sexist! Now and again would be funny but 24/7 was too much for me! Stan was a bit lush though!!!!

Nice place for a relaxing holiday (shame the 50.000 flies had parties on your body!) or if you have little ones..my sons are 12 and loved it but my 14 yr old daughter absolutely hated every minute of it as there was nothing for her to do except swim.

Big hello to Joe one of the Thompson reps...he took us to Mardi Gras and was so helpful and funny.

All in all I wouldn't go back here as there was not enough to do or see but for a relaxing break it's fine.

Just got back from the San Migel hotel, booked it because of all the good reviews! It wasnt good for us!

There were flies everywhere you ate or drank. There was a terrible stench around the pools. All four of us had sickness one day after another!

The bar staff were rude and slimey. The under threes soft play was flithy. The food wasnt up to much except for the chinese which was lovely.

GOOD POINTS the view from the hotel is stunning, its right alongside a lovely beach. The bar on level 8 does great cocktails!

Having read many good reviews on this hotel we were really looking forward to a fab time. I can only assume as it was the end of the season the standards had slipped major as unfortunately we didn't find the hotel up to these standards.

We stayed in the Beachclub and enjoyed the location of the room - lowfloor with the kids pool only 10 steps from your terrace. However the rooms are very very basic and although cleaned every day still have a horrible feel and smell to them - each night around 1am an awful smell came in from our bathroom as if the sewrage was circulating around the drains.

The food in the hotel was a little better than that of the beachclub - you have to get a slip of paper from reception to eat in the hotel - they are very strict with this as we found out on our 2nd night when we took the kids for a toastie before going to bed and was told in no uncertain terms that we stay at the beachclub and eat at the beachclub unless permission given - unfortunately the beachclub food is very basic with no toasties etc. Being total honest it is the worst food I have ever come across - there was something there for everyone whether it be salad rolls - chips etc but who really wants to go abroad and live a week on sub standard snacks. Again I can only assume the end of season may have affected this.

The hotels own entertainment team did really well to accomodate the guests as the weather was poor the first few days but again I never seen most of the great shows mentioned as they were schedueled for the week after. We know we were in a Superfamily Hotel but because all the entertainment was inside we found that the Reps were very unorganised . One night the kids Disco and Clown were still on at 1020pm we found this really hard going as as much as we enjoy kids and had our own with us following a clown around a room is not our thing at this time of night.

The location of the hotel will not suit alot so unless you are happy to do nothing all week I wouldn't book here - alot of late deals were put here and most were unhappy with this - heard many wanting out but if you take an allocation on arrival deal at a lower cost you need to be prepared to take what your given provided it falls within the star rating advised. We made the most of what we had in the resort and were more than happy that we weren't back in rainy britain but chilling out. Having tried it once I honestly wouldn't go back - we tried all incluisive this year in April in Cyprus at the Phaethon Beach Club and was really impressed with it that we thought the San Miquel would be just as good - it was no where near as good.

Think the San Miguel has seen it days and unless a major revamp is done the reviews will continue to show this.

First off I want to say that the folk rubbishing this hotel are probably the ones sitting at the back not getting involved and needing entertained.

We have been going to this hotel for 6 years, 7 times in all and have booked for next year again. My only complaint is the price Thomson's charge for it, that is why we book privately now!

As always the hotel staff go out of their way to make you enjoy your holiday, they work tirelessly to keep it clean, keep the drinks flowing and ensure a pleasant atmosphere.

The food is never brilliant, lots of repetition, but it's nice and there is plenty of it.

The kids have a ball and we get to relax, that's what is important for us, I don't want a fast living, all action holiday so I don't go looking for it in San Miguel.

If you want your kids to have a ball and you want a great family holiday this is the place for you!

Food was good most of the time, plenty of it all day long, and even late at night after the entertainment, the resturant was open, rooms cleaned every day.

All the staff were friendly and helpful as were the thomsons reps, had lovely view from hotel balcony and the hotel is right next to the beach, the only down side to the hotel were the flies.

Reading the reviews beforehand we were also disappointed with this hotel.

Yes the hotel is kept very clean however the flies were everywhere.

Food was very basic and and I agree substandard.

The entertainment team are very good and we did join in and not sit back however we go on holiday for more than the entertainment.

As said in a previous review I would agree the hotel and beach club do need revamped and more emphasis that the hotel area does not offer alot around it.

Wouldn't go back unless we paid very little for it as not worth the money we did pay.

We stayed in the beach club part of the hotel. The room was good, cleaned every day. Fresh towels if you wanted them.

Our restaurant for the beach club was limited by its size, the food was just as good but you got a little more choice in the main restaurant. Great Snacks at midnight.

The lifts were a bit of a problem to get to it though.

I don't mind what I drink out of but the plastic glasses should be a little bit bigger, save going to the bar to often.

I think the staff are pretty good only one no smiley face but he was a good grafter, you got your drinks quick enough. JOSE made it a great stay, even our Granddaughter fell for his charms.
