Alcudia Pins Hotels was fine, just to many people for the size of the complexs. Lots of things for the kids to do.

If you want a relaxing holiday dont go to this hotel, if you want to go to bed for a early night(10.30pm) the music keeps you up until 11.30pm.

Hotel pool very very loud with lots of kids with water pistols to annoy just when you want a good read. If you are going with teenagers be very careful due to the fact there are gangs of them at night going around the hotel looking for trouble(parents in bars just don't care).

I was very dissapointed with this hotel after always getting good reports. The cleanliness of the rooms was just okay the complex in general was well kept.

As we were self catering I thought there was a lack of places to eat out unless you were prepared to go into Alcudia town every night. The hotel staff were friendly and the entertainment was good for younger age groups.

As a group from Ireland we felt very intimated by the many english people that displayed england and union jack towels etc. These were also widely available in all the surrounding shops.

The hotel is slightly out of Alcudia but is self contained. There are bars, a shop , a pizzera, shops etc.

On arrival we were warmly greeted and promptly given directions to our apartment - which was very small but the balcony was big with two sets of doors- one from the bedroom and one from the living accomodation.

The apartment was very clean and during our week it was cleaned twice and fresh towels left four times.

The food in the self catering restaurant was nice but after a few days we tired of eating in the same place and being tired to our 6.15 dinner time - way too early.

The staff were always on hand to help. We booked our trip to Marineland and Aqualand at reception the night before and it was much cheaper than through the reps. We saved nearly fifty euros.

The entertainment was fine for families and suited us as we had a 4 and 5 year old on tow. I would recommend this hotel to families.

We have just arrived home from a weeks holiday at the Alcudia Pins.
It was the best holiday we have ever had!

The hotel staff are very helpful and speak good English.
We had a problem with our safe - we couldn't open it and I needed to take tablets that were inside.
I reported it at 10am, and by 1pm the same day the locksmith had been, and got it open for us.

The room was very clean and had towels, (which we weren't expecting), and most importantly it had air conditioning!

The staff work very hard to keep the complex clean. as we were going to bed they would be scrubbing all the paths etc, and were still working at 8am the next morning! You could smell the bleach.

The hotel food was fantastic. I am a fussy eater, but I could not fault the food.
Breakfast was 8am till 10.30am and dinner was 6pm till 9pm.
It could, at times get very busy though, but we were never made to wait.

For lunch we mostly bought sandwiches from the supermarket, which is very well stocked. There is also a burger bar, a pizza place, and you could also buy chips.

We didn't attend all of the shows, but what we did see was very good.

The pool is great, a bit cold when you first get in. There are lifeguards on duty, and a sample of the water is taken 3 times a day.

A word of warning though, there are loads of sun loungers but, there are not enough sun loungers for the amount of people.
I know you shouldn't, but, you need to be up early to put your towel on your lounger. My husband went down one morning at 7 am to find out there were only 2 beds left!

There is a nice cool breeze around the pool, coming from the beach.
The beach is literally one step out of the complex!
Its a lovely clean beach.

There are lots of souveneir shops both in and around the complex, arcades, horse/pony rides, bouncy castle, trampolining etc.

We found it to be a very enjoyable holiday and will definately be going back again next year.

The only thing going for this place is the beach, rooms were dirty food was horrible.

Sunbeds thats a joke you could never get one as everybody put there towel on them at 4-5-6 in the morning, so our last night we threw them all in the pool.

Would never go back to this dump!

We stayed in self catering accommodation which was kept clean and tidy and the towels/bedding changed regularly.

The hotel grounds/pool were kept very clean and we noticed that the pool water was checked at regular intervals. Although we never ate at the hotel itself we visited the various restaurants around the complex. eg. Pins Burger and Pizzeria. Kids loved it but adults missed the healthy options!

The hotel is located on a beautiful beach but transport is needed to get into the main town. The staff were friendly (especially the cleaners!!).

Kids loved the Airtours entertainment and my daughter loved the mini disco.

The hotel it self was very clean, and safe for young children.

The rooms were also clean and tidy maid service was every 3 days which was great when staying for 2 weeks.

Hotel food was fine, and you have the Buger pins bar with a selection of foods and the pizzeria and also the great supermarket with everything you could think of.

We found the hotel location brill right next to the beach, and the beach is fantastic the water is like tap water. Best beach we have ever been on. You are mins away from the towns which we found great to go to on a night time to have are evening meal.

Hotel staff were fantastic they always said hi which makes you feel welcome the waiters were great two always making jokes and making us have great fun.

The entertainment was really good on a night time, there was a different show every night which we looked forward to. The holiday reps were especially good with the long hours they work and always had smiles on there faces.

This was my 2nd time to Alcudia Pins and I would definitely come again next year.

Its amazing when reading reviews of this hotel on how different everyone perceives a hotel. We went as a family on an allocated on arrival basis and expected the worse. What we got was a fantastic hotel for kids. Everything in the hotel is geared for the little ones. From the electric cars they can hire to drive round the site, to the bouncy castle and evening entertainment.

I agree that the rooms werent particularly big, but who spends their holiday in their room anyway? its just a place to lay your head after a day at the fantastic beach, which is right on your doorstep. I had no complaints about cleanliness, and I should know as I run a hygiene company! The food was standard hotel fayre. yes, you get the occasional strange concoction, like peas for breakfast or rabbit stew, but if you dont fancy it, there is plenty of other things to choose from.

The entertainment was great for kids. It isnt geared to adults, but when you are watching your children have so much fun - who cares!!

In summary, if you are looking for a fun packed holiday for your kids and some relaxation for yourself, this is the ideal holiday. If you are looking for the Four Seasons then you are going to end up disappointed. It warrants its 4 star status based on amenities, cleanliness, food and great entertainment. If you are looking for nightlife and rows of bars, book a hotel in central alcudia instead.

We did go self catering but did use the two restaurants. The Buffet restaurant was ok, though full of children. The a la carte restaurant was nice and quality of food was great though no massive selection. Supermarket was well stocked though only having a microwave and hobs, no oven or grill was a little annoying.

We are a young couple to be fair so knew to expect a family atmosphere. The pool was fantastic and the ability to just walk out of the pool onto the beach was great.

The night entertainment was brilliant and the entertainers had the kids having a great time. Even getting adults together for some beach volleyball etc, me not being much of a mixer, still joined in and found it great.

The hotel staff were so friendly, long long hours they must have had, seeing them early morning/late at night, Not looking tired whatsoever and being so courteous.

I would recommend this hotel and would love to go back.
One negative would be though is the snack food all round Alcudia, not the hotels fault, can't seem to get anything like a nice salad or something healthy, all it was were places selling pizza, steak, greasy baguettes, Nothing light.

Hope this review helps you, if you are thinking of going, don't hesistate in thinking that you wont love it.

2nd yr for us at the Pins (last being 2003).

Love the hotel as much as we did last time, but entertainment was a big let down for us. Though for other's they might enjoy it. It was too much of the Reps (felt like sch plays) & only 2 outside entertainers bought it (A tribute act & Hypnotist).

The hotel was spotless & the staff work very very hard. Great for children & mine loved using the tennis courts to play in, where I felt them to be safe & they met new friends.

Yes, hotel is set away from main resort of Alcudia, but bus/cab's are cheap enough.Visit Old Alcudia Market on Tues or Sun, great fun. But do visit Old Alcudia if possible on another day to see how beautiful it is. A bus ride to Polenssa & Can picofort is worth it.

If you get the opportunity go & see the Pirates show.......Excellant!!.
I can't wait for us to go back to Alcudia & i will in the near future.
Enjoy your stay & make the most of your holiday :o)
