We've just come back from the Mariner (22/05/03) having spent 2 weeks there and none of us thought it was long enough,so we're going back for another week in october.
There were 15 people in our group & we all had a great time.The staff were fantastic especially Manuel the bar manager,who was always giving us drinks on the house.
The other staff including Anna,Anita,Lina,Yoli & Isa were also brilliant.They couldn't do enough for us & they always had a smile on their faces.
I'd definately recommend the Mariner to anyone.

Wonderful, helpful local staff who always smile, they really made our stay special. The apartments were very clean, and everything needed for self-catering was provided including toaster, kettle, cutlery, microwave, hob etc. We stayed for 7 days and the apartments were cleaned every other day which was great. The kids loved the pool, which was also clean, and the entertainment was brilliant, with quizzes, professional shows and discos. Throughout the day there are activities for the kids such as killer darts, killer pool and water gun fights! The food was exceptional, very cheap and beautifully presented. As we went in May, only seen a couple of mozzies and never got bitten. Head left from the Mariners for the beach, which takes 20 mins to get there but is well worth the walk. The main center of Alcudia is 15 mins away. All in all a very enjoyable holiday, I would certainly return!!

We stayed at Solecito apartments in June 2002. Apartments were basic but very clean, also these 2 bedroomed apartments have 2 bathrooms which is a real bonus when there are 5 people. Solecito apartments are quieter than the Mariner, I found this an advantage because there was always lots of room around the pool and in the bar. We travelled with 3 young children who all loved it. The bar area during the evenings is fairly low key. Check out Barney Rubbles Bar nearby it is great for the kids they will always remember 'SuperGlen'.
I would recommend staying at these apartments and if I ever return to Alcudia I will certainly stay there again.

just got back from soliceto apartmants what a wonderful place plenty to do brittania was excellent for food didnt mind walk to beach as we have 4 kids no probs except mozzies but didnt bite me would return in a hurry met lovely people and always friendly rooms were lovely and spacious even for a family of 6 would highly recommend to all familys

The staff were very friendly and always there to help. Lack of air conditioning was a major downside. Be prepared for a LONG walk to the beach, although it is a flat walk (approx 1 mile). Mozzies were a bit of a nuisance. Litter around the pool was not the fault of staff who were always cleaning up after unruly English kids. Pool area was slightly dirty due to grass around pool areas. some restaurants close to hand but the majority were a good walk again. OK if you like dragging kids for miles in the heat of the day. Entertainment in the complex was very good for kids and adults alike. Kids club was in separate air con'd building near to poolside - kids loved it every day. Poolside bar very good. Close to waterpark. We enjoyed our stay but would probably not go back to Alcudia but it does have one of the best beaches in Majorca.
