If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

CLEAN LOVLEY PLACE TO GO LOTS TO DO THE YUMBO CENTURE IS A MUST SEE LOTS OF SHOPS BEACH IS LOVLEY AND SAND DUNES BUT BE CAREFULL OF NUDEST BEACH WE WOULD GO AGAIN ENJOYED THE HOLIDAY

In general the resort is ok. Sonnenland is too quiet and you have to book a taxi if you would like to go to another resort, which over 3 months became expensive. Also this is not an area for people who have any disabilities as this accommadation is on a steap hill and rooms which require lots of walking to get too.

The hotel is a good walk from the beach but a pleasant one at that. With two kids we walked up and down to the beach several times a day. Very quite but with good shopping down at the seafront. The Faro 2 is ok but not ideal for gift buying. I agree with the other reviewer about the small supermarket at the back of the hotel. They are rude and we couldn't get in anyway with a double buggy, but it is ok for water, soft drinks etc. A short taxi ride into Playa des Ingles will quickly make you appreciate the cleanliness and tranquility of Maspalomas.

If you are buying electrical goods in the duty free shops, use the hotel internet cafe to get an idea of prices as it is easy to be ripped off!

Sonneland is a very quiet resort in Gran Canaria. With a few shops and one large Supermarket, everything for food and gift wise are at hand.
Only Hotel Entertainment available, with two pubs that open.
If you're looking for a real quiet holiday and want to get away from all the busy resorts then Sonneland is the place for you. You can walk into the neighbouring resorts like Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas.......though steep hill to walk !!!

Resort clean and well presented. Plenty of bars & restuarants, only gripe would be the PR people trying to get you to eat in there place.
Only went to the beach once, because we preffered the pool at our complex.
All in all a good resort for families and anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. If you want a little more to do then venture into Playa de Ingles as only 5 mins away in cab.

Resort hotel was in was Menoras which is about 5 - 10 minutes walk from Maspolomas. Beautiful promenade to run along in the morning when you could see people cleaning the resort. Entertainment was a bit limited. A nice shopping centre with clothes, jewellery, sports shops, supermarket, gift shops, car rental shops, restaurants, chemist. The famous sand dunes are a mere 10 minutes stroll away. All in all 9/10 and would definitely go back.

Maspalomas was great! apart from Jumbo centre, which was quite scary for me!
There's nice shops and it's good to visit the strand!
The taxi drivers tend to drive fast! but your safe!
The foods really nice and all restaurants! and I would love to back sometime, recommended for families!
