The weather was great, and thats where the greatness ended!!

People vomitting where they sat in the canteen.

Cockroaches and sewerage are great reminders of Green sea. We threw the towel in after 4 days and ate out.

Whoever said you get what you pay for.... hey!

Got there late quite shocked to see how many rooms there were.

Great apartment had your own garden area. Liked the fact that the bedroom was upstairs basic but clean the maid came round most days food was terrible ate out very hard work on the legs got a taxi most of the time.

Staff were fine reps were crap no time for your problems our youngest was very badly burnt at the water park too much stuff in the water reps gave us a map to the clinic no one spoke much English.

Entertainment was ok in the day for the kids.

Wouldnt go again too far out the way.

In January 2003 I stayed at the Green Sea it was the worst holiday I have ever had. Food was fine (if all you eat is garlic bread). Thankfully when I was there it was not all inclusive but as you have to get a taxi to Playa de Ingles (really its not walkable) food worked out the biggest expence of the holiday ,even though we were half board. As I said all that was edible most nights was the garlic bread.

As for the resort of San Augustin: All I can say is what resort!? The entertainment during the day consisted of someone selling suncream. What I can say good about this place is the reps - Especially Hayle who would have turned somersaults to help you.

Went here in January on a cheap deal only got two sunny days but weather was never bad.

Duplex rooms were massive and great for families the kids loved it apart from the many cockroaches it was fab. The kids reps were fantasic at the kids club. The entertainment was rubbish and the resort was awful reminded us of a dirty Blackpool. The noise from the roads and dogs was horrendous at night so it was hard to get a good nights kip.

The pool was great and the kids loved it we would only go back if the complex and the kids reps moved to another area

i returned from this accomadation last year and i have to say i had the best two weeks i've ever had. yes there where a few security issuse but if you used the saftey boxes there where no problems. i've read some horrible comments about the reps danny and penny, (penny in paticular) i would just like to say they delt with things remarkably well. imagine coming in to a place at 9.30 in the morning not knowing whats happened during the evening and people come screaming and shouting at you as if its your fault! how would you react?!!!!!!

penny was extreamly kind and understanding on my holiday and her and danny would go out of their way to help anyone they could. their only human like you and me not super people! the green sea staff where also very helpful, one of the staff changing money when franckly he wasnt aloud! this was an amazing 2 weeks and i would highly recommend it!

Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in, sockets stuck into walls with tissues, loose wires, broken furniture, broken & mouldy fridge, infested by cockroaches, went self catering and did not dare risk any food in apartment at all, complained to reps and asked to be moved to another resort, told none available.

Complained to First Choice (twice) on return, complete with photos of disgusting accommodation, received nothing but a half hearted apology.

Would never go back and NEVER travel with First Choice again.

Me and 12 of my friends have just returned from the Green Sea. We all had an excellent time. I found the accomadation to be basic but really it was just what we were looking for. I did have a couple of problems with my upstairs toilet but I reported it to the reception and someone had come and fixed it within and hour or two.
We only ate in the hotel a couple of times but when we did the food was fine - nothing fancy - but perfectly exceptable and edible.
The staff there were wonderful including the security guards who were very understanding.
The main road was busy and since we were right at the bottom of the complex we overlooked it from our balcony but even that wasn't a problem cos we had a lovely view if the sea aswell!!!
I thought the location of the hotel was perfect. It was near enough to Playa del Ingles without being too noisey. And there are some lovely resturants around San Augstin.
I would definately go back to the Green Sea but unfortunately I woudln't go back to Gran Canaria!!
Oh and we saw about 4 cockroaches between the 13 of us and that's not bad since the island has quite a few.!!

Just arrived back from a family holiday at Green Sea 02/07/02. On the coach on are way to the complex from the Airport we received the usual literature about the welcome meeting etc and decided to make the effort to attend.

Upon arrival approx 2300 we made are way to reception to check-in we where astonished to see two rough looking security guards smoking in the reception area, not very confidence inspiring. Then came the room allocation, almost 30 mins walking around dimly lit pathways trying to find our room! The room at first impression and after we disposed of the resident cockroach (only one we saw in fairness) was to say the least BASIC and in need of repair- no lock on bathroon door, tiles broken, foldaway bed in permanant foldaway mode but we decided to see what the morning would bring. We where going to take a walk to get our bearings but decided against it given the room location, quite a big complex you could be quite some distance from reception and the room did not seem too secure, all the doors downstairs consisted of small panes of glass. Now we slept fairly well and got up early to attend the welcome meeting scheduled for 1030 and made our wy to the poolside bar to find a meeting just breaking up so we thought there must be another meeting afterwards..wrong we were given the wrong times so no meeting.By daylight the apartment seemed no better with an area just outside shaped like a garden but filled with only gravel and what looked like the previous fifty residents cigarette butts. We asked to move .....no.We made do and enjoyed each others company, met a lot of really nice people (all in the same boat) and enjoyed the pool area.

On the last day requested to keep are room on..OK 38 euros but a different room.Boy were we sorry, room was down what looked like the basement area smelled of sewage place was falling down around us, god help the people who had to put up with that for the duration of their holiday.I honestly would recommend anyone to reconsider the apartments, I know they are budjet but they really do take budjet to new extremes...and what ever you do take a safety deposit box lots of break-ins cant understand why, considering there where two security guards standing smoking up in reception all night

I lived in these apartments for 10 months in 1998, whilst working as a holiday rep.
The apartments are ok, if a little basic - but the maids did clean every day.
It is a little out of the way from Playa Del Ingles, and getting taxi's isn't always that easy.
The staff are friendly, entertainment is poor, and food is average for a spanish hotel (us english do expect everything to be like home!)
The beach of San agustin isn't as nice as Playa or Puerto Rico, but their main centre is worth a visit.
All in all, it's very average, and I wouldn't book to go there, but I wouldn't complain if I was put there on a saver deal. Too many pepole spoil a holiday complaining!
