We have just returned from a week at the Princesa Dacil in Los Cristianos having had a very enjoyable holiday.

The hotel was absolutely spotless and our room was lovely having a nice sized lounge area, separate bedroom and large bathroom. I do believe however that this was a family room and not the average room for 2 people. We were just very lucky to have been designated this room.

We would recommend a room on the higher floors as they do not get as hot as the lower floors. We were on floor 9 of 15 and were fine but people on the lower floors had to hire fans at their cost as the rooms were too stuffy to sleep.

In my opinion the food was average. For a week it was fine. There was always a large choice but not always very appealing. We ate a lot of chicken, pork chops and chips !!

The location was fairly central. About 15 minutes walk from the centre of the town and beach. We chose to spend a lot of time around the pool area because there were ample sun beds and my boyfriend enjoyed the various daily activities going on as he got bored sun bathing all day.

Entertainment was good and the staff are lovely. We participated in a show of Grease one evening which was a bit daunting at first but good fun and something we will talk about for a while to come. Lots of activities going on during the day like water polo, shooting, volleyball, football, water aerobics etc. Entertainment exceptionally good for kids.

On the whole we had a good time and would visit the hotel again.

Perhaps we have been spoiled in the past as my family normally stay in 4 star hotels, but were advised by Kwik Travel that the hotel was ok. Well, where should I start - Hotel was not too bad with regards to cleanliness (apart from pool area). The food was absolutely disgusting, pork was on the menu 6 nights out of 7 so needless to say we ate out most of the time. Chips were actually served for breakfast! Our children said the best thing about the hotel food was the ice cream - enough said. Hotel location is ok and we didnt hang around for the entertainment. How anyone can rate this hotel even 3 stars is beyond belief. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone

what an experience. it was a combinstion of our honeymoon and our first family holiday. we had a first floor room with a balcony and a good view of sea and the hills. the rooms were great and cleaned to a very high standard. the food was at a very high standard not what i expected. we had a full english breakfast every day. what a better was to start the day? the staff were very friendly and polite and couldnt help enough. the only critism i have is that they could of had more language training in english. the entertainment was out of this world. a special mention to the staff for keeping the children and adults happy. what more can i say but that we have already booked our holiday next year to the same hotel in the same room.

We were a little concerned about staying here after reading a lot of negative reports but in all honesty we had no serious complaints at all. The Hotel does need decorating as some parts were showing wear and tear, the variety of food in the restaurant was limited but we always had a good meal ( including our 5 year old grand daughter who can be quite fussy ). The pool area was quite large and we always got a lounger, both pools were cold but you soon got warmed up when in, 1 day they emptied the main pool to paint it, we got prior notification and the use of another Hotels pool across the road, because of the inconvenience the Hotel put on free food and drinks around the pool at lunchtime.
The room was clean and spacious with plenty of storage space, the balcony was narrow and not very clean ( lots of pigeons about ).
Entertainment was typical of any Hotel, the kids in the Hotel were well catered for with plenty to do during the day and a mini disco on an evening ( thanks to Stephanie & Wim ).
Would I go back to this Hotel? yes, as long as you don't expect 4 star treatment in a 3 star Hotel you would enjoy yourselves.

The hotel Sol Princesa Dacil was a very clean well located hotel and although we found the breakfasts excellent the evening meals were sometimes of poor quality particularly the cooked meats, the choices were however good especially the salads.

The hotel staff were available when required and as I celebrated a birthday when I was there I was given a suprise bottle of champagne and a basket of fruit which was totally unexpected but a nice touch.

We would visit this hotel again but would consider doing just B&B.

The Princesa Dacil was excellant. We would highly recommend it to anyone. The staff were really friendly and the rooms were spotless. We had maid service every day. The food, both breakfast and dinner were splendid. There was plenty of variety and there was certainly something for everyone to eat no matter how fussy you are. Yes, the dining room did get a bit crowded at times but if you went at a different time, there was always somewhere to sit. We never had a problem. The entertainment in the evenings was a bit out of date, but it was early in the year and there were a lot of elderly people in the hotel, but we went out in the evenings and had no problem finding suitable entertainment. We had a really brilliant holiday and are planning on returning a the same time next year.

This was our first visit to Tenerife and we were spending to a budget therefore we were not sure what to expect, particularly after reading some of the negative reviews on both the Princessa Dacil and the resort.
Both fears were unfounded.
The hotel was very good and was well worth its 3 star rating. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and industrious and the hotel was very clean.
Most complaints on the opinions website seemed to relate to the food but we found the breakfasts and dinners were very good (yes

The Princesa Dacil is excellent. The quality of the staff, accommodation, food, hospitality, entertainment and everything else are first class and well above standards you would excpect from a three star hotel.

You just cannot miss the evening entertainment and I thoroughly recommend 'Los Gauchos'.

We have holidayed at this hotel since 1999, after being recommended by friends, and we now have no hesitation is recommending the hotel to others.

This year was our silver wedding anniversary and we took both of our adult children with us to the hotel to join in the celebration. They thoroughly enjoyed everything about the hotel and Los Cristianos. As for the hotel; they even sent a bowl of fresh fruit to the room. A very pleasant surprise.

We have always been made to feel at home in the Dacil and will be returning again 26 December for another two weeks over the new year.

We had stayed in Sol hotels before around Spain and had liked the standard of previous ones, which is why we chose this one.

The room was clean enough, but the balcony was disgusting, particularly the flower box. This was full of stubbed out cigarettes, etc., and was like an ashtray. As non smokers we complained about this, but nothing was ever done. We didn't sit out there very often because of this and couldn't hang our towels over the rail either.

The food was good but the restaurant got very hot both morning and evening. The ceiling had quite a few fans on it, but unless you were sitting directly under one, they didn't make any difference. When we were there the temperatures were 30+.

There were plenty of sun loungers, but you couldn't go out in the early hours of the morning to put your towel on one. They kept the doors locked until 8am and then there was a scramble to get your space.

The entertainers worked really hard trying to get everyone involved in the activities. There were plenty for kids and a mini disco in the evening. BUT the tables and chairs around the stage area were absolutely disgusting. They were the white plastic patio furniture which had turned black with filth. The chairs weren't quite so bad, but you had to wipe them down before you sat on them. This put us off big style. But the hotel is near enough to the promenade that you can walk down a hill and there's a multitude of bars, kids' rides, shops and street entertainment to keep you amused. The hotel entertainment for adults was rubbish.

The pool area was clean at the beginning of the day but by the middle of the afternoon there was quite a bit of rubbish strewn around. I never saw any member of staff cleaning round the pool during the day. Also the sun loungers are going the same way as the patio furniture. They were stained, etc., and I took mine over to the shower area every morning and hosed it down. Quite a few people started doing this too.

On the whole, we wouldn't use this hotel again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They say you get what you pay for but this holiday wasn't cheap but the quality of the hotel was.
