Returned for 2nd year running to this hotel, however I wouldnt go back unless it was only based on the room only basis.

There was never any room at the pool unless booked at 8am. also the pool is too small for the size of the hotel.

The food is very poor, and as a vegetarian the choice was salad, chips and more salad and most of the time it was limp. Out of 7 days I ate in at night on 3 occasions only. Go to dinner about 8pm and you had no chance of desserts although the restaurant (or should I say canteen)was open until 10pm.

I am glad I did budget for extras as I had to eat out. Good location but that is all.........

We booked 3 nights in the hotel while we waited to sign for the key for our new apartment. We booked online direct with the hotel as 207 euros for half-board/standard room for both of us seemed like a very good offer.

We requested a high floor and we were not disappointed as we were on the top floor (15th)in what I assume was a free upgrade.

The room was very large with a lounge area with sofa and coffee table, a huge bathroom and a small balcony with spectacular views of the town, harbour, coastline and mountains.

Most of the complaints on this forum about this hotel seem to relate to the food so we weren't expecting a lot but at these prices we thought we would just grab a little breakfast and eat out in the evenings.

We were quite surprised to find that the food, whilst it wouldn't win any awards, was perfectly exceptable and we ate in for the three nights we stayed. The only exception to this was the cooked breakfast, which frankly was inedible. This didn't matter however as there were plenty of alternatives, such as a choice of breads, croissants, cerals, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, ham, preserves etc.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the whole place very clean. We did not use the pool area or the entertainment but there seemed to be enough for everyone to occupy their time.

Also, when we visited, the bar seemed to have air-conditioning, which appears to have been a problem in the past.

The only thing I can think of that we would have changed was tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, otherwise we thought that, although obviously not 5*, this was an excellent 3*hotel and we would stay here again.

Some furniture looking tired, all areas kept spotlessly clean, staff always helpfull, except for bar (poor beer choice).

We were pleasently surprised by the rooms size. the dining room got packed at times ie. 08:45-09:30 and 19:30-20:30, however if these times are avoided there is no problem.

The breakfest choice was very good, but spread around, you had to look for an item if missing from one display. the only dinner complaint was the soup, at least 4 meat and 2 fish choices (some cooked on the spot) as well as a children's spread.

We were amazed at the towel rush at 08:00 to the pool, young and old brits.

We spent 7nts half board in Jan 2006.

The food was tepid, at best. The cold buffe was limp salad & bruised fruit.

Don't expect a teapot or milk jug as all drinks come from a vending machine. The soup appeared to be made from the night befores leftovers & was often labled minestrone.

Deco is tired & our sofa bed was discusting & not fit to sit on (thank god there was only 2 of us).

There was no hairdryer as advertised, & the lifts often broke down.

Entertainment was the same every night, a bloke on a keyboard singing the wrong words, while people walzed, fine for one night but not all.

Hotel location is excellent near to bars shops & beach as well as being quite on a night(no bottle banks out side).

We visited this hotel in November 2005. It was in a Very good location and had wonderful views overlooking the harbour and beach. We has a superior room on the 14th floor which was very spacious though the balcony was very tiny.

The food was ok, by the end of the week we felt that perhaps if we were staying for two weeks then we would have been fed up with the choice and had chosen to eat out as the variety of restaurants and bars in Los Cristianos was perhaps the best choice we had ever encountered on our travels (we have been to all the Canary Islands and this is, we think the best).

The area around ths pool was very cramped and each morning we saw the guests, before breakfast, rushing out to reserve their sun bed, eventhough there were notices to say this was not allowed!

This is the worst hotel we have been to in 25 years of foreign holidays. We do not expect fancy food but the dining room (canteen) was to put it mildly disgusting. Plain wooden tables and chairs, no tablecloths (thank heaven) as tables that had been cleared were hard to find. Food was awful in choice and presentation and waiter service for drinks was not available. Just go to a table where you were served drinks from chilled cabinets.Trays when eventually cleared were stacked in the trolley racks that you see in fast food restaurants and these were beside the table that you ate at. Once was enough, as I felt physically sick eating there the first night.

The pool beds and parasols were disgusting which really did not matter as people were booking them as soon as the staff opened the doors.

The main communal areas were pleasant and clean and the evening entertainment although not to our taste was well supported and good enough.

The 2ND floor room was acceptable but required air con and a fan in the bathroom. Could not sit on the balcony as all the room was taken up by a cloths drier fixed to the wall.

Direct holidays rep did not want to know about the dining room and claimed she had never received any other complaints. It does not rate 1 star. We will never be back or recommend this hotel to anyone. P.S. Tenerife is brilliant

The hotel was nice and clean but could do with a referb.

The maid visited daily and done a very good job, the hotel food was awful. My family all had upset stomachs the bar staff were very rude and slow.

The location was nice not to noisy and we had beautiful views, the staff were very hard to find if you needed to complain. The kids entertainment was good but for adults it was very poor.

My mum had been there before and took us along this time but she and all of us were very disappointed and will not return again.

The hotel was very clean and the cleaners came into the rooms daily. We were amazed by how much work the cleaners had to do and how quickly yet effectively they did it.

The food we thought in the evening was horrible because the main thing was veal which we do not like to eat. The breakfast was brilliant with a wide choice of cereals and hot meals.

The location of the hotel is superb as it is only a stones throw away from the beach and shops.

The hotel staff were excellent because they were very helpful and could all speak fluent English which really helped.

The entertainment staff were brilliant and definitely kept us entertained all through our holiday. There were daily activities including football, water polo, rifle shooting, volleyball, tennis and many more. there was good entertainment at night starting with the kids then to the adults. The entertainers (Arianna, Niko, Marta, Dimitri, Angela and Phil) were brilliant and really made us laugh.

Thank you very much for a brilliant holiday which we would like to do again in the future.

The Wilkinson Family.

We went half board for 2 weeks.

The food was terrible (just as well we put extra pennies in the bank as we only ate in the hotel for breakfast which was cold and only 3 nights of the whole 14!). The pigeons were a pest.

The stampede for sun beds was a nightmare (you would think they got up in the middle of the night to put them on the beds).

The entertainment - well let's just say we found our own.

The location and staff were good though, would definitely go back to the area but probably go self catering in another hotel.

The best bit was when we got a bottle of champagne from the hotel as it was my boyfriends birthday - cheers!

Also for entertainment if you want comfort and a wee bit of class - go to the Church just down the hill from the Sol Princesa along a small strip of bars - it is at the end. There you can have a meal, air conditioning and 2 entertainment acts a night - you will pay slightly more for your drinks but what's that when you get comfort and entertainment!!
