Myself my boyfriend and another couple stayed at Colombus hotel at the end of June this year.We found our room very clean on arrival,however we didn't hav a toaster or a kettle in the room,this was later brought to us after to attempts to get them.Our room was facing the main road so at night time it was very noisy and closing the doors was a problem as the room became umbearibly hot.Our room was cleaned everyday without fail.The communal facilities such as the pool area were very clean.Some of the staff on arrival were not the friendliest which was slightly off putting.I'm undecided whether I would like to return to Colombus.

I really rated this hotel for its poshness, 3 of us shared a one bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of the 2nd building over looking the main sun terrace next to the main pool area we only experienced 3 cock roaches in our apartment I freaked out at first but i got brave and fumigated the other ones I was put mainly on cockroach patrol in the night but i werent bothered evil little things yuck!
the location was ok i think being a girly holiday n all we wore heels every night so walking to and from veronicas was a bit of a strain but a nice romantic walk back if you had met anyone lol!

I stayed at the Columbus with a large group of friends and we all agreed that the hotel was amazing! As a group of 18-19 yr olds we were immediately told the hotel had a strict noise policy which we adhered to although we did have problems with a family next door to us (kids kicking footballs against the wall continuously) who were moved to another room.
I only rated entertainment as I never went to any of the entertainment the hotel provided.
The pool in the hotel, though a bit cold, was great and we joined in on the water polo in the morning, embarrassing but fun!
The location may not be ideal families with small children due to the busy road right outside, but it was ideal for us. Though we were really close to Veronicas and Starco we were of a good enough distance to escape the noise of the clubs and pubs.
We didn't eat at the hotel, but Oh La La and the Aberdeen steakhouse, where we ate regularly, are very close buy and cheap.
The hotel was really clean and we had great maids! I wouldn't like to have to clean the mess people in my group had made but the maids done a great jobs they even washed, dried and put away dishes -well beyond the call of duty.
All in all the hotel was great and we are returning in October this year!!

When you first arrive at this hotel you realise how lovely it looks, and a quick inspection of the pool area confirms this.
The complex is pretty big, with two buildings. Unfortunatly we were in the building that faced onto the main road. Horrendous noise! I did not sleep all week. There is no air conditioning so you have to have the balcony door open at night, but the people in Playa De Las Americas never sleep! The traffic is so noisy, with cars beeping all through the night and sreeching their tyres etc. The lack of sleep put a real downer on the holiday.
The entertainment was good for when you didn't want to go out around town, with karaoke being a faourite!
Hotel not too far from town or the beach, although the beach is horrible so not worth the walk really.

We stayed here in May 2004 having been three years previously. The Hotel is in an excellent location and we were looking forward to returning. The cleanliness and decor of the rooms have slipped somewhat since our last visit. The bathroom plughole on our arrival had someone elses hair in it and the bathroom bulb had blown, making a somewhat dingy bathroom very dingy!. The toilet seat was broken and chipped. The bedroom was okay although the beds were a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen/lounge area had a plug hanging off the wall behind a table(might be why the maid never swept under the furniture). My parents also stayed at the same hotel at the same time and thier room was fine, so we may have just got unlucky.
The location is quite central. if you turn at right at the bottom of the road it takes you to Veronicas and if you turn left it takes you to Parque santiago and los christianos

We stayed Self Catering with basic kitchen facilites, both the kettle & the toaster did however work. I was very dissappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The public areas - reception, tiolets etc were imaculate but bathrooms in the apartments were filthy - dirt, hair & grit everywhere. The towels were changed everyday but the bathroom was not cleaned!!
The location was excellant on a main road in Las Americas only 5min walk to Veronicas & Jumpin Jacks!! Im sorry but i will definatly not be back - its such a shame the cleanliness let it down!!

bar staff were excellent. recommend the bar ali barbars, they would remember me for a long time,ie drinking them out of baileys.
been before with children with special needs ,they have downstairs flats. which they dont tell you in brochure.

We've stayed at these apartments over 8 times now.
They're always clean, the staff are very attentive and there is everything here a family needs.Whenever we've been our room has been cleaned every day.
Yes the main pool doesn't get much sun in the winter, but that's never stopped my 2 from going in the pool every day.
Yes the security guards are vigilant - but that makes us feel safe !
The many families who return time and time again are testimony to the standards of this accommodation.
They're always clean, the staff are very attentive and there is everything here a family needs.Whenever we've been our room has been cleaned every day.

I was at these apartments in October, 2003. The rooms were clean and the service was good. The pool was freezing and the buildings have not been planned well as the main swimming pool is between two different buildings and the sun does not really shine on the pool much. There are adequate sun-beds and areas for the sun worshippers though. All in all, a fairly nice hotel and no reason for me not to go back there apart from the fact that I'm fed up of Playa de las Americas !

we went to the columbus in august 2003, i thought it was great. we arrived at night so the pool was beautifully lit up so i was quite excited to see it in the daylight. there were loads of security cameras around at the front desk, so i immediately felt safe.
the next day it was better than i thought, the pool was giant and lovely and warm, although we were a bit late for the sun beds. our room was fine, it was basic but it was clean. the view from our balcony was amazing cos we were on the 6th floor (lucky us).
i would definately recommend this place to others.
