A big party of about 30 of us went to San Eloy hotel in June/July last year on the recommendation of family that had been there before and were in the group travelling with us this time!
We had an absolutely fantastic time! The hotel, although quite basic was really clean. The pool was enormous and kept clean. The kids playground was excellent as was the entertainment, the kids had a fantastic time.
There was nightly entertainment, which was great, very well planned and thought out.
All I can say is that I lost 4 and a half stone before travelling to San Eloy and managed to put on 13lbs in two weeks - fab food and far too much to drink! It was a great two weeks, in fact I'm going back for another fortnight this year in July and I can't wait.
Although quite far away from the resort of Tossa there was an hourly free bus service which meant really you weren't too far away from anything.
I love the San Eloy and would recommend it to anyone!

Loved the hotel, the location is in the middle of nowhere but the free shuttlebus to town and beach takes bout 5mins, more than adequate. Staff in all departments were so friendly, really helpful and seem to try to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. The food!!! well what can i say, i am not a big eater but had to try everything (in small ammounts) so many meats and salads, absolute 1st class. Rooms suprised me, they are very large and kept clean everyday. Entertainment after dinner is really not my cup of tea, but they did absolute wonders everynight! i was very impressed, and the kids mini disco went down a storm with the lil ones! and some big ones too :) Tossa town is a delight, pretty little place with real narrow streets, and again the friendliest people you could imagine. Anyway i could go on and on but the end of the day we are going back to the San eloy again this year, looking forward to it, need more info? bald_dunk@yahoo.com

We booked this holiday the week before we went and read the comments prior to departure as was slightly concerned on the views expressed by one user. The whole family had a wonderful holiday during our stay, the apartments although basic were very clean with maid service most days, the site although some 3Km from the main resort had a 3 minute bus service every hour which was more than adequate. The food was buffet style and had good selection with fish and several meats at each sitting, the quality was not 5 star but was presented well and with plenty of choice was satisfactory, the staff were helpful and the plates were cleared from the tables as soon as one finished. The entertainment was not brilliant but they tried hard, and if not found to your satisfaction it was not compulsory to watch. The rep had very little knowledge of the area but I think with a bit of a brain you can work out the local area for ones self, the reception were excellent and always helpful. If you have a young family and are not on the second floor I think this is a good site to stay on. Small complaints pool tables are expensive to use, the crazy golf is poor, one of the pools could do with a slide for the children and the coffee and tea need improvement but since this is a foreign destination I put up with it. Recommended. We stayed there during last week in August 2002. Britannia flight great no delays in fact both were early to and from cardiff.Good Luck

Well I suppose the fact that my family and about 30 other people keep going back is a good enough advert for this holiday. Butlins it is not - but if you want a relaxing family holiday with a safe, clean and friendly environment plus entertainment which you can either spectate or partake in then this is the place for you. The staff are excellent and so helpful. I will be back.

Myself, my husband and 2 children have recently returned from our 2 weeks stay at San Eloy. What can i say, other than have an open mind and dont get over excited!! If u like Butlins then u will love it here. The hotel itself has lovely views of green mountains and is very clean, the Bus service is good and the driver is great, he's english and very helpful. Tossa town is lovely has a nice beach and is also very clean.
Now the down side is the hotel...The rooms are good if u dont have to climb 2 flights of stairs with a 2 year old and buggy, like we did. The sand pit is great for the kids if it wasnt for the jagged/broken edges. The baby pool would be nice and safe if it wasnt for the broken or missing filter cover. The main pool and baby pool are seperated by a strip of smooth surface tiles and i spent all my time trying to stop my 2 year old from falling over whilst watching others less fortunate injure themselves. A missing large stone in the outside terrace wall leaves a lovely 8 foot drop to a stream below, big enough for most under 3's to get through. So be warned, if u have small children...dont expect to relax!!
The food is ok, choice isnt too bad but hot food was never anything but just about warm. The restaurant is designed like a green house, all glass and no curtains or blinds, so expect body temperature and sweat levels to soar!! I think the staff expect a tip before they smile...what a miserable lot...
Entertainment.....ermm...am i allowed to say @#%$! I saw more than one repeat of a very poor show.....we laughed more because it was so rubbish. But i have to say the kids club during the day was good, the kids win things and always had a good time.

This is about the 5th time i have been to the San Eloy, I have in fact only just come back from a week away.
Over the years i have met so many nice people from this hotel, this year about 30 of us all travelled together.
The hotel is slightly out of town, but the free bus taking you into the center (every hour) makes it easy to get to the shops/beach.
The food is excellent, they have salads, different meat evey day, and a Gala night once a week. (If you cant find some thing you like at every meal then there must be something wrong with you).
The rooms are huge, very clean (in 5 years i haven't once seen an ant or a cockroach!). The rooms get cleaned every day. The hotel is made to look like a castle, with all the rooms facing inwards looking at the pool etc.
There is something at this hotel for everyone! dont let the 2* rating put you off, as i work for a travel agents and would rate this hotel alot higher! I get sent to some really nice places but no where could ever beat the holidays a have at the san eloy!

What a fantastic resort, a perfect family holiday.
The apartments are huge and very clean on arrival.They continued to be cleaned on a daily basis along with clean laundry.
The food was fantastic and everyone was catered for in every way.
The entertainment was first class and gave both the adults and the children the opportunity to get involved or watch from afar.
As the parent of a young child i recieved excellent childcare provisions from a very experienced team, both during the day and night. We are returning this year along with families that have been back for the last 8 years - a reccomemdation in itself!
