The resort itself was very clean the only let down was the building going on but this shows improvements are being made. The entertainment in the resort looked good but were unfortunately closed due to the time of year i went. There is a water park next door to houria palace and a funfair about mins walk away kids will love it.

Dont read too much into the negative reviews we had a great time!

Port el kantoui is a very beautiful resort, i did find the shop vendors slightly annoying to start with but you soon get used to it and it is all done with a smile,
the beach was everything you expect and more, just like a picture postcard view.
i would certainly recommend this resort to friends.

I have stayed in Tunisia many times and always visited Port el Kantaoui but this was the first time I have actually stayed there, although I am going back again at the end of this month.

The area around the Marina is really attractive with many nice cafes, restaurants and little shops. Not to be missed is the musical fountain which is really beautiful.

We had a wander around the childrens amusement park but, as it was November, there did not seem to be anything going on. No doubt it is better in the summer, although there did not appear to be many rides.

Personally I feel PLK is rather touristy and more suited for people who are nervous of the real Tunia. The beaches and hotels are nice.

Although I am returning at the end of this month, I am staying nearer to the Marina this time and expect to spend most of my time in Sousse.

I discovered Tunisia about 5 years ago and now it feels like a second home to me. I always travel alone and have never felt threatened but I have a sense of humour and have taken the trouble to learn a few words of Arabic - Metakishe maya min fahdlek (stop bothering me please)works wonders!

The resort of Port El Kantaoui was very nice, with nice restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere with some very nice shops and a beautiful fountain which had musical waters in was illuminated in the evening. I would definitely recommend the Mediteranee Restaurant which does excellent seafood. All in all I wouldn't return but staying at the Hotel Kanta or Marhaba Palace right in the centre would make a much better holiday.

We did not realylike the actual resort of El Kantaoui as we found it to be to modern, touristy and false.
We did however like the location of the hotel as it was far enough away from the harbour area without being too isolated.

the resort has changed in the last 3 years with a big childrens play park and removal of the noddy train and taxis out ot the centre. The fountains with the lights and music are delightful. The beaches are well maintained at the Hanibal Palace hotel where we stay. The shops and areas are always clean and the shop keepers friendly, if you dont want to haggle there are planty of fixed price shops to go in. The |Mediteranean is the best fish restaurant to visit.

Port El Kantaoui is very very small. There isn't a lot of things to do especially if you're on a budget. The street hawkers can be very irritating. Most of the resort is shut down at midnight. The standard of food is very poor and most of the wine is undrinkable. There is one excellent restaurant called the Mediteranee which is quite expensive and another beach restaurant behind the Hannibal Palace which does fairly good food. Everywhere else we tried was either poor or actually sick making.
The viking boat tours have no commentary, just ear splitting music.
Do try to try out the beach paragliding though! Undoubtedly the highlight of the holiday.

I have marked down cleanliness because although the immediate resort area was none too bad the surrounding are was awful

There may have been some entertainment somewhere - we just didnt see it

The beach was also pretty non-existent. There may be some beaches around but we did not find them (nor did anyone else that we spoke to).
