Port El Kantoui is a lovely modern area with the marina as a focal point for the tourist and the entertainment is mainly Hotel based. On saying that an "Irish bar" arrived a couple of years ago and is the first of it's type in the area. Slightly further afield Sousse is becoming more European with a choice of bars and nightclubs opening. Still not your English or Scottish pubs (thank God!) but giving us more options.

The beaches are beautiful with lovely White sand.

The beach is fantastic. Its clean, soft and the water is lovely. There are security guards outside each hotel at the front and on the beach so it is safe to go down at night.

Entertainment is hotel based so read the reviews of the hotels well! The port is pretty and has nice bars/resturants and the Irish bar is nice and serves good food.

The resort is at the standard you expect in Tunisia. There is alot of horse mess around as they are made to walk tourists up and down (they look tired and ill). Overall it is a plesant stroll to the shops or the Port.

I would probably visit the resort again but at a differnt hotel.

Tunisia and the Tunisian culture is just so much hassle and after a while it gets so tiring and irritating. The local traders have no idea how to treat tourists and most of them think that is OK to step in front of you, invade your personal space and to touch and grab you in order to get you to part with your money. Surely all of their shops and restaurants would be full of people if they did not do this, but they were all empty because they were probably frightening people away. The only shops we saw in the resort which had people in them were the government-run stores where all goods were price tagged and you were allowed to browse without being hassled. We decided that we had to visit a medina or two just to see and experience it, but be warned – it is like running the gauntlet.
We went on a camel ride which was an experience to say the least and we also went on the Thomson “three cities” excursion which was excellent as it took you to some very interesting places, although during the bus journeys from one city to the next you have to endure some of the most uninteresting countryside and worst roads that you may ever come across. We also went to the Thomson “Showstoppers” night in Sousse which was a show put on by all of the Thomson resort reps and we thoroughly enjoyed it. For the last 3 days of the holiday we did not set foot outside the confines of the hotel grounds and beach as we had just about had as much as we could take of the hassle.
We have travelled to many different places and experienced many different cultures throughout the world but this was our first trip to a North African country. We are glad that we went and we did enjoy certain aspects of the holiday and the experience but we will not be rushing back to Tunisia.

We only left our hotel twice during our weeks stay. We walked along the main road to some shops. Everywhere seemed fairly clean.

One afternoon we walked along the beach to the Port. It was very busy which we expected but we did get a fe men following us around the Port but they were no trouble, we just told them to leave us alone. the Port overall is very pretty with plenty of shops & a good variety of restaurants & cafes.

The beach was nice & clean. The Port was about a 15 minute stroll from where we stayed at the beach was nice & quiet. There are plenty of groups doing all types of watersports as you walk along.

PEK is not to big and on the flat. Beaches were nice and clean.

The marina was very nice with plenty of shops (kept the missus happy). Went to the zoo afternoon out
showfield was good.

Musical foutain was very good some nice photos and video
plenty of boat trips from the marina but not too much in the way of entertainment.

Would go again but is there enough to keep you occupied for two weeks? I don't know.

The Marina is well worth a wander to - Don't forget to go both sides as there are good restaurants in the Festival Gardens. The golf club is also another great place to eat, you don't have to be a golfer to use the restaurant. In general there is a bit of work going on to the roadways etc but this didn't affect our wandering around. The area is nothing special but fine for a relaxing time.

The resort it self was horrible there was nothing to do, no where to go, nowhere to get food from if you wer`nt full board, you were hastled by taxi drivers as soon as you walked out of the hotel. If you walked to the port you were hastled again to go into shops or to go on boat trips.I have never hated a holiday so much.

we found PEK lovely, the marina area was lovely and 7-7.30pm they had a fountain that danced to music with was really nice to see. my daughter enjoyed her trip on the horse and cart and the air ballon that took you up 150 meters to see the views it was 20 dinar per adult and 10 per child, which was around £8.40 and £4.20 and my hubby and daughter were up about 10 mins it doesnt move anywhere once its in the air but my little daughter loved it, i chickened out as i dont like heights

we went to sousse for the day which was about 3-4 miles away and found that pleasant and the medina wasnt as much hassle as we expected although we stayed in the main area and didnt wander down any quiet streets
