the apartments were by far the dirtiest i have ever stayed in. the decor is 1960s. there were no cooking utensils except for a gas kettle. i would not wish these apartments on my worst enemies. all told a dump. staff are the laziest and most arrogent i have ever met. words cannot describe what a hole this place is.

after reading the reports we were quite anxious about the accommodation and when we arrived at 4.45 in the morning we were not shocked!BUT after a few hours kip we saw things in a different light. Even though the rooms were 60s style and basic they were kept very clean.The maid in block B was excellent in keeping the rooms clean and tidy. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.The pool and pool area were fantastic and never struggled to get a sunbed and kept clean and tidy at all times. The location of the hotel was brilliant it was right in the middle of the tourist area.Limassol itself was bang on.

we stayed in the castle appartments for 2 weeks in june 04, it was by far the worst place we have stayed in, the rooms were not that clean although the towels and sheets were changed regulaly,and the beds were comfy and clean. the decor in the room (410) was terrible with 60's style fittings and dingey brown furniture, and only 1 cupboard between the two of us. the location of the hotel could not be better as it was right in the middle of the main tourist area of limassol, we found most of the staff could not be bothered and the direct holidays rep was a complete waste of space.

The hotel was located in a good area, plenty of entertainment around, especially the friends bar across the road from it!! The Staff are very helpful and friendly. The downsides of this hotel is they dont have a wide selection of food. The best thing about this hotel is the pool, its huge. Would go and visit the hotel again if i ever had a holiday in cyprus again.

Arrived late at night to a grumpy receptionist. Was given a top floor room with a loose balcony rail and a patio door that did not lock or close properly, not ideal with a six year old who sleep walks.
Moved to another room over the road from a noisy bar so got no sleep. No crockery or cutlery in the appartment, dirty sheets and filthy bathroom.
Arrived at the welcome meeting to find a queue of people begging to be moved and after a day of arguing and talking to Direct holidays in England we were moved to a far nicer hotel down the road.
Would not go back to the Castle appartments if I was paid to.

A bit dated but clean and the staff were helpful & friendly. We ate a few times at the pool bar and restaurant and found it very tasty and reasonable, altoger had an enjoyable holiday.

I live here in Cyprus as we are part of the Military a few miles down the road, and have been for 3 years. Caste Aparts are the best VFM around. You should see the rubbish in comparison. Contrary to all other reports, the Castle was totally refurbed in 2001 to all rooms. New laminate flooring and new bathrooms, others please take note. Quality for little money. This is Cyprus, if noone likes "over-friendly" Cyps - stay in Yorkshire. The Island of Love is quality. So are these Aparts.

The Castle apts are situated in a brilliant location in Limassol it is just on the edge of the tourist area, but about 10mins walk to all the pubs'n'clubs of Livley Limassol, and around 5 mins to the beach.
The pool is massive and cleaned daily, there are plenty of sun-loungers for everyone and a poolside bar which serves snacks,(i personally did not like the food which they served it was expensive and there was not much of it).
The apts/studios where very basic and a little dated (only around the 60's) but very clean, the castle apts provided us with the 2 essential things which we like on holiday, white clean sheets and clean bath towels which they provided regularly.
Good clean basic accommodation,well located, good pool area and pleasant staff.
All in all the Castle apts have 3 1/2 out of 5 for me.

Booked a late deal in Feb 2002, excellent VFM. The rooms were in the 60's style, but fairly clean. Clean sheets and towels delivered regularly. Hotel management very helpful. Pool and hotel were being refurbished so we could use the amenities at the 5 star hotel next door. Wasnt too impressed with the beaches nearby, but we hired a car and went to Paphos, Protaros, and Ayia Napa for the beaches - much better and only max 1 hour away. Limassol port/town centre was a little dirty and less to do than we expected, but more bars, restaurants etc were spread along the main road. I would recommend the Castle as a base for an exciting holiday. (Smashing pub on the corner - food very good - live footie.)
