This was our second year at the Rising Star and we were not disappointed. The location is ideal; you can sit by the pool or on the grass looking out across the bay and enjoy the sea breeze. The rooms as last year were spotless and the cleaners very friendly, as are all the staff. We enjoyed the three themed nights, Chinese, carvery and barbeque and the food was all very good. The Rising Star is very much a family orientated hotel and there are lots of activities going on. Chris and Aairon were good entertainment although, Aairon had to fly home for a week so Chris was busy on his own, with splash dance in the morning, then afternoon games and evening entertainment, he did a sterling job.
We went to the water park by taxi after last years white knuckle ride on the local bus, eight of us in a stretch taxi cost

I think an earlier review rated this hotel 7/10 - No way!! It deserves 10/10 in terms of value for money at least. This was our 2nd stay at the Rising Star and the quality and standard of service cannot be faulted. When we arrived we were given the same apartment that we had had on our first visit plus a bottle of wine with a welcome back note, which was a lovely touch and really appreciated.

The location is absolutely perfect right on the beach front with fabulous views of Fig Tree Bay. There is a small beach by the hotel which is a little rocky but nearer to the sea it is sandy. It is fantastic for snorkelling, which our Son did every day. Fig Tree Bay is just a short stroll away if you want a bigger beach and the water sports.

The rooms are more than adequate for a 2 week stay and the views are lovely. The bar & waiting staff are really friendly and helpful, especially Tomas -nothing was too much trouble for him. The reception staff could perhaps learn to smile a little more but apart from that they were fairly helpful.

The entertainers Chris and Airon work extremely hard and seem to really enjoy what they do, Chris was working alone for our first week and he did a fantastic job.

The themed nights, chinese, carvery and BBQ were excellent, the food was lovely and really good value for money. Our favourite restaurant was the Yianna Maria just across from the Rising Star, the food was always lovely, and the atmosphere in there is so relaxed and welcoming, plus you had views of the sea.

A fantastic holiday once again and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Rising Star is in an excellent position, within easy walking distance to the main strip and with all facilities close at hand. We paid for a sea view and requested a high floor and we were not disappointed with the apartment. It was very spacious, with a huge balcony, although only a small table and two chairs (for a party of 4) was provided for the balcony - we felt that an extra two chairs, at least, would have been welcome. However, the views from the balcony were lovely. As other people have commented, the only negative point about the apartments is the lack of storage space - just the one wardrobe and a couple of shelves under the TV set. Having read other posts before we went, I invested in a John Lewis clear plastic stacking sweater tidy - 6 cubes of space which concertina down flat for packing, but when hung by the velcro strap to the wardrobe hanging rail provide six small shelves ideal for underwear, kids' shorts etc. My husband laughed at me when I packed it, but he agreed that it was well worth its luggage space.

The maid service in the apartment was adequate but no more than that. Clean towels (a bit threadbare) were provided approximately every two days, which was fine, but some days all the maid did was empty the bins. You expect one day a week with no maid service but, when they do come, I expect the beds to be made and particularly the kids' sofa beds in the living area, which are difficult to make comfortable unless you have the 'knack'. Perhaps the maid didn't bother because I always tried to tidy and straighten all the beds myself instead of leaving them in a heap, but nevertheless I would have expected a better service. However, all the staff were polite and courteous.

The entertainers, Chris and Aairon, worked very hard to make sure that the kids (and adults!) enjoyed themselves, but without any pressure whatsoever to join in. I still find myself humming the Dizzy and Shades theme tune from time to time! We went out in the evening so didn't really sample the evening entertainment but I think it was of the same general type and standard that you normally find on holiday - so if that's your cup of tea, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The hotel swimming pool is a little on the small side compared to other places we have been, but it's quite adequate for playing around in and not too deep. The sunbeds on the grassed area are a lovely idea - you can face away from the activity round the pool and look out to sea. As usual, there was the round of early morning sunbed reservation, but there were quite a few days when sunbeds were still free quite late into the morning, and this was in the height of the holiday season.

The small area of beach and rocks at the front of the hotel is great for rock pooling (take care, my son cut his foot so suitable footwear is recommended). It is interesting to watch the fishermen coming and going and my son 'helped' one of them once or twice.
The main beach, to the side of the hotel, has plenty of sunbeds so you don't need to be there at the crack of dawn. The water is clear and clean although there is quite a lot of seaweed. My husband and daughter walked the length of the beach and said that the part near the Rising Star was the best bit. The beach is well-provided for in terms of beach cafes, water sports etc.

Rising Star is a very nice and relazing hotel. We had one of our best hoildays here. The staff were so nice and helpful. At one stage the bar lady wanted to keep my wee brother to herself!

The rooms were very nice and clean. We had a nice view looking over to the beach and sea. This was nice to wake up to in the morning.

The hotel was located right on the beach...which was great so you could walk and do all the water sports that were available there.=)

The snack bar at the pool was very nice. And you didnt have to wait long on the food getting cooked!

I would definatly reccommend this plae to stay!

Just got back from the Rising Star Apartments. They are fantastic!! The rooms are big and everywhere is spotlessley clean. The pool is really lovely and there are plenty of sunloungers. The apartments have great self catering facilities and the maids came in everyday. The rising star is situated right on the beach and just a short walk from the main strip area. The entertainment team, Aairon & Chris, are absolutely fantastic. They had us laughing all day and night they are so funny! My kids loved them too and they can't wait to see them again. They really made my holiday! I would definately recommend these apartments.

This hotel/apts are ok please do not think you are going to a 10/10 these are 7/10 there are 2 problems with the rooms one is there are only 3 small drawers for all yor clothes there is a small double wardrobe with very few hangers this is a small issue but should be mentioned as someone with 2 older children will have to keep there clothes in suitcases, the bigger problem is the fridge,I have stayed in Cyprus,Rhodes and Corfu and have never had to put up with a louder fridge you are aware of it at night no matter how much alcohol you drink"Bring Earplugs",the only thing about location is the beach at the hotel is very shingly and there is a hill that you have to walk up to take you to the strip dont get me wrong the apts are ok but dont believe the 10/10 ratings these apts are 7/10.

Just come back had fantastic holiday. Hotel is in a brilliant location within a easy walk to the strip and the beach on your door. Plenty of sunbeds to go round no early morning calls to reserve them.

Apartments very spacious and clean, maid service everyday. Eat at pool bar every day for lunch with the food being excellent and staff happy to help. As for the entertainment team, Chris, Aarron and not forgetting Su where brilliant keeping the kids well entertained both day and night, made you feel safe knowing your kids where in safe hands.
Definitely going back again next year. Pool really safe for kids and not too deep didn't see our daughter all day just spent it in the pool.

Rising Sun pub very good with entertainment available every night.
