Booked for Parque Mourabel but on arrival transferred to pe da logo. Room size spacious but very very dated! Maid called daily, but at 5.30 just when you are getting ready to go out, so room not cleaned.
Hotel miles from nowhere and if you needed a taxi after 7.30 to go into town you were in for a long wait!
Poolside bar was very unclean definetly would not eat there !

We stayed in the Parque Mourabel for a week. The hotel was lovely and the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is a free daily bus service outside the hotel which takes you to and from Vilamoura Marina and the beach. The buses depart at 9am, 11am, 4pm and 7pm.
We would recommend the train ride, It costs 4 euros each for a 45 minute journey taking you around Vilamoura. You can catch the train outside your hotel.
It was our first time in Portugal and we would definitely recommend the Parque Mourabel.
As there are only a few bars and a few shops near the hotel its worth getting a taxi to the centre of Vilamoura.
At a cost of 20 cents, the reception staff will phone for a taxi for you. It costs 4 euros for a 5 minute journey to the centre of Vilamoura. If you want to walk then do, it will take 20 minutes to walk.

We were there last week in April 2005, they were in the process if doing up the rooms in the main block - the holiday company "forgot" to us advise us of this! - and we woke up to hamering and banging the next morning.
The bathroom and kitchen were not great quality I think worn out would be a good expression!
To give reception staff credit when we complained we were moved to the complex across the road.
This apartment was excellent so if you are going there try and get into apartments opposite the main block or check they are not still working on the main block.
Watch local supermarket prices near apartments, cigs and booze more expensive than down at the marina.
Apart from the pool and small bar/restaurant in the apartment block there is NOTHING else close by. In saying that in the local taxi service - which reception will phone for you - will take you to the marina complex in only 5 mins and only costs 3 to 4 euros each way...check your change though!
If you have a late flight they also have a secure place to put your luggage.
We would definintely go back, even though it is in a quiet area the shops/restaurants etc are not far away.

We had an excellent time away. The staff were so helpful and maid service everyday. The apartments were tidy and had everything you needed really. The pool was alittle cold though thats just what we needed since it was 35 everyday! Restaurant was average, the marina was a good place to go in evenings. About a 20minute walk to beach and shops etc but the cabs were great. Would recommend.

This holiday was awful! The excursions were great, especially the jeep safari and atlantic park but i can't say i was impressed with the apartments. It was fairly clean, but the apartments were very basic and very small and for a 6person family there was hardly any room to breathe. The one thing we most remember was the wheely bins being emptied every morning at 2am! the noise was extremely loud and we were all woken up by it and we weren't even near them!This did not put us in the best of moods! The pools were ok most of the time but once someone was sick in it and we had to wait for half and hour until someone bothered to come and clean it! trying to get into vilamoura by foot did cause some problems. it took quite a while to walk into the town but getting back in the dark was worse. i remember quite vividly getting lost and wandering around for what seemed hours trying to find our accomodation. eventually we found it but i recommend taking a taxi if u want to go into vilamoura. our worst memory was unfortunately our last night. We decided to stay on the complex and went to eat at coco loco which during the day had been very nice whilst at the pool. but when our food was brought to the table that evening we were shocked by how awful the food was. 3 of us started with cabbage soup. It looked black and tasted burnt, i couldn't stomach it. My parents had prawn curry which was GREEN and also tasted foul. we didn't stay for desert!! we left feeling rather ill. i certainly don't recommend it and wouldn't ever go back again unless a miracle took place to improve it!

Rooms very basic, cleanliness was average, pool area quite good, very long walk into Vilamoura marina, we frequently used taxis. The evenings entertainment was pathetic, we would not consider holidaying here again.
