This was our second visit to this hotel - something I have never done before! However, the Quinta Casa Branca is exceptional and deserves a return visit, or two! Everything about it is wonderful, from the room -leading on to delightful gardens, the facilities, the breakfast/lunch pavilion, and the staff - who remembered us from our previous visit. Although not in the centre of Funchal there are plenty of places to eat locally if you fancey a change from the excellent cuisine served in the a la carte restaurant. Entertainment was limited to a "madeira wine" tasting and a guided walk through the gardens, which if you are looking for peace, quiet, relaxation and attentive service in a wonderful small luxury hotel of the world - is probably all you need!

The hotel was excellent. We stayed in a superior room above the library.
We had a balcony overlooking the garden. This was our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice. the staff were friendly, the room spotless and the layout of the hotel was excellent.
The restaurant for Breakfast and lunch was situated in the garden, as was the restaurant for evening meals. The pool was secluded and also very quiet. No fighting for sunbeds here! The general atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.
This was easily the best hotel I have ever stayed in and we will definately be going back!

We have stayed here twice now. The only time we have every re-visited a hotel and we will certainly go there again.
The whole atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, you feel as if you are staying with old friends.
The staff are welcoming and friendly and many remembered us from our first visit.
The pool is in a beautiful setting and most days we were the only people swimming.
The food is very good, and breakfast by the pool is wonderful.
It is difficult to rate the entertainment as there is nothing actually laid on in the hotel apart from wine tasting and tours of the lovely gardens.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Our room was large with a terrace overlooking the extensive gardens. Weekly tours of the gardens with the owners are free.Rooms were cleaned twice daily with fresh towel and bed change.
The food was excellent with catering for all tastes. The staff were extreemly freindly, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is really a base for complete relaxation, so entertainment as in the large hotels is not offered, however, massage, sauna etc are all available. The hotel is a haven of peace.Although within easy reach of the centre it peace and tranquility gives the feel its in the country.
