If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

Maspalomas is a quiet resort. Great if you are looking for a relaxing holiday but if you are looking for night life its got to be Playa del Ingles.

the resort is a part of the maspalomas / playa del ingles area, our resort is very clean and as stated previous the entertainment is mainly in the hotel, although a short walk away is meloneras which has cafe and bars but are very low key, not at all like the busy playa del ingles. the beach is at meloneras which runs from the light house right across the dunes to playa del ingles, there is also a nudist beach for those who wish an all over tan, but this is situated right in the middle so is quite a long walk, but it is out of the way so it is not right in your face if that is not your cup of tea. there is a rocky bit that you can sunbathe on if you prefer this is more to the right of the light house, the waves are good in this area, and we can see a few body boarding.

Maspalomas isng the a lovely place and we are going back this year. The Dunes are amazing!! Just aronud the corner is Aqua Land water park and The fairground is 5 mins walk. Our location was central to everywhere yet located in a very quite area! This was ideal for shopping and eating out very cheap in Faro 2!
The area was very clean but the cockroaches came out in force during the early eve....this was not a problem on the complex but walking outside on the streets, roads, grass very scary!! The beach Faro/Maspalomas was crouded near entrance but walk nearer dunes ver secluded and desserted....very easy to get lost wandering through dunes.... and beware of the German Nudist Camp (not for the week or faint hearted). I look forward to returning the the new year period. They dont do much for Christmas but make up for it in the new year celebrations.
We went to a Chinese resturant El-Chino in Faro 2 for New Year Eve and WOW!! They went crazy with Fire-Crakers, Sparklers- Free Champs- It was Fantastic!!!!!!

The cleanliness of the resort as a whole was excellent. Entertainment in Maspalomas was low key, however a short taxi journey to Playa del Ingles took you to the lively nightlife.
Maspalomas beach was gorgeous, the sand dunes absolutely amazing! beware of the odd wandering nudist along the dunes though!
Overall I would recommend the resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet resort. There is plenty to see and do for those who have a snse of adventure and who are not afraid to use their legs!
I am visiting again this June with my boyfriend.

The resort its self is clean.
The Entertainment is the same lady singing the same songs every night in very bad broken english but her dancing to what she sings keeps you very entertained !!!!!!! she is very good on the tambereen though !!!!!!!!
The false beech on site is like about 20tons of Pea gravel just dumped and a load of sun beds put on top.
The local beech is nice but is very windy.

Los Molinares is an up market resort but is only a short taxi ride away from Playa del Ingles which is extremely lively with thousands of bars , restaurants and clubs. The famous Maspalomas dunes are only a short walk away

Resort is very upmarket. Lots of designer shops. Lovely hotels and only a short walk to maspalomas. Very clean and people very friendly.

Maspalomas is a great place, beach lovely, shops great, (didn't see much nightlife as all-inclusive) we found it rather cheap. Taxi's will stop anywhere for you and are really cheap - 2-3 euro's to most places. HolidayWorld great for the kids at night, similar to English Fun Fair, also reasonable prices.

Maspalomas is a fairly low-key resort and more geared towards shopping than partying, but if you're after a chillout holiday then it ticks all the right boxes. At the same time though, there is plenty of entertainment in Playa Del Ingles, a short cab ride away (approx. cost 3-4 Euros).

The resort in maspalomas was fine but there were to many shop dwellers trying to round you up into the shops and bars, also stay away from the market on thursdays and saturdays as its to geared up for the germans selling cheap copies of everything from nike clothing to rolex watches. The reason you should go to gran canaria from October to February is one simple thing "THE WEATHER".
