Just home from 2 weeks in Sunwing. Everything about Sunwing great. Reps and entertainers excellent.
Food good value ,alcohol very expensive,gone are the days of large measures. The down side of a holiday here was the groups of young people who kept us up night after night. Our door kept getting hit and once our balony was urinated on,the two security men sorted things out quickly,but we waited every night for something to kick off and 8 nights out of our 14 it did.
During the day Sunwing could not be faulted,but different at night. We were on a block which were very good. Clean and good view. Sioux city a must. Even a bored 14 year old loved it. Thank you Rory. I feel during school holidays Sunwing should be families only.
Gran Canaria cheap we even brought money home. Could eat out for about 30 euros including drink.

Well I went to Sunwing resort in July and it was brilliant.
That was my 5th time being at that resort and I would recommend it to everyone because the food,rooms and serivce is excellent.
Taxis are waiting outside to take you were you want,go to the Irish centre its brilliant the liveliness is kickin right through the night and is brilliant for those young ones who just want to party.
Also there are many bars for people who want to sit and have a quiet drink.
Well thats enough from me and I would recommed this resort to everyone.

My sister-in-law and I wanted a quiet week in Gran Canaria and this is exactly what we got. The apartments (in the dreaded "D" block) were secure and clean, not as stated by someone else. The maid service was excellent and thorough, they have two days off per week. The apartment was well laid out and comfortable.
The Entertainment crew from Airtours were absolutely excellent. I don't normally bother too much about this sort of thing, but they were so good I watched them most nights.
Plenty of sunbeds round the pool and in a more quiet area near the kiddies playground.
A great place for people with kids.

My first time in Gran Canaria and I loved it!
I travelled with my boyfriend who had stayed in the Sunwing Resort before. We stayed in the dreaded D Block!
Not a brilliant location as we were in the end apartment but the rooms were clean and tidy.

After reading some of the reviews I was quite worried about staying at the Sunwing but on arrival my worries were settled.
Rooms are excellent,travelling as a couple I expected a studio room but was pleased to find separate living and sleeping space.
Kitchen was fully equipped allowing to eat in the room when desired. As we stayed in a ground floor apartment, as well as a large terrace we also had a small grass area with sun loungers.
Couldnt believe how clean all areas of the apartment resort were. Maid service is available 5 times weekly and you can have fresh towels and bedding whenever you want,by putting dirty ones in a laundry basket provided.
Entertainment ran from 10 in the morning until late at night with a variety of activities to take part in. Early morning and evening entertainment is aimed at families however being a young couple there were still plenty of activities we too took part in. We went on 1 reps night which was cabaret night which is highly recommended for all ages.
The location of the apartments is quite a bit away from the main resort which I was worried about before travelling. However taxis sit outside the apartments constantly from morning till night and only cost 3 euro to get to the main centres.
Due to this location you get the best of both worlds,nightlife and sleep whenever you want it.

I and my partner stayed at the Sunwing Resort for Maspalomas Gay Pride week. This was our second stay at this accommodation and we were not disappointed with it.
We stayed in Block C this year, on the 4th floor during school term time, so limited noise from children which was what we wanted. We had a fantastic view of the sea and dunes from our private balcony which was a great suntrap from 11am thorough to 7pm, and was also great for people watching.
We didn't partake in the hotel entertainment as it is generally aimed at families with children who like to relax at night within a hotel complex. With the Yumbo only a 10 minute walk away there was no need.

Once again all the reports we'd seen gave this hotel a very underestimated review these apartments were outstanding in cleanliness and the staff on reception were above average as were the "La Tascala".
Staff rooms cleaned every day, clean towles, we didn't stay for any entertainment as we booked (unbeknown) to us Gay Pride week and a hetrosexual couple found the Yumbo centre unbelievable.

Im Cheryl, we went to gran canaria, Sunwing last year, the weather was beautiful.
Unfortunatly the day before our departure, I took ill, meaning I collapsed, the staff working there were very efficient and helpful. I was dehydrated, blistered, and collapsed, the staff were straight on the phone to seek medical attention, you cant get a better service.

A very pleasant and clean hotel to stay at. I had no real complaint about anything. The only negative comment would be that as a person travelling alone I did not feel as comfortable as I have been at many other hotels. That aside I had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed every minute of it. The entertainmet in the evenings was superb, the apartment, pool and public areas were kept clean. I would go there again without any hesitation. Any family or group of people going there would be had pushed not to enjoy the stay.

Just return from Gran canaria today, The Sunwing Hotel is probably the best hotel in Playas, its very clean, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The Airtours reps were excellent and provided hours of entertainment, large shout out to Dean he took special care of us on a few bar crawls. The rooms are spacious and clean and offer everything you'd require for a good holiday. Looking at other hotels in the area we had far better facilities in way of Pool, bar, food etc.
